How do you not realize that the problem is exactly that the dex is so fucking bloated? Every generation the only thing meaningful Gamefreak does is shit out another 100+ pastel abortions into the dex and call it a day. And those are just random stat allocations with nothing meaningful to distinguish them besides their outward design, it's fucking stale and boring. Pokemon as a series has stagnated since gen 3 and fans like you are fucking brain damaged.

Graphics were and will always be garbage, it isn't laziness, it is imcopetence. Pokemon look fine, they are simple like gen1 , and i rather have that the meme shit we been having lately. Only saving grace for the game for me is that they won't make another easy as fuck game with 1 pokemon gym leaders

They are thinking of the future. When we have a 3ds sucessor they can still recycle the game back to the new portable. If they upgrade all the shit now, then they will have to put WORK again for it, and we all know how they hate work.

It's more than just their faces that are similar, and it's more than just these two pokemon that have these similarities. Some of the humans this artist draws even look the same.

One is PS4 game that even looks bad by that standard, and one is made gamefreak. They know that they can half ass anything and still less millions of copies because the brand is so strong.

It's unfortunate because of the obvious potential the series has, but gamefreak has quite literally the biggest multimedia franchise in the history of the world in their palms, and people will by it, regardless of how much effort is put into it.

Why would they bother spending more money and resources when it will sell just as well with a fraction of the effort/money?

It's a shame, but that's how business works. The only way this will change is if people stop eating up GF's shit and Nintendo gets on their ass to make something good for once, but that is literally never going to happen.

It's growing on me but I guess it's like... it's just the same style as all the handheld games. Plus I'm getting sick of all the new gimmicks that get introduced and dropped. It's like they're afraid to make a better version of their game.
