They added a new optimization option in a hotfix recently which stopped all crashing for me. It's the one dealing with loading times. In fact, I have every box ticked and all settings cranked up to max in the optimization tab. Not a single crash the last few days. Before it was awful.

Seems like Phasmalist changes, shrouded mage fixes, and enchantment nerfs are on the table.

The worlds geometry is built competently, the dialogue is atrocious - I can't take it seriously after hearing the words "totally", "oh my gosh", and, "whatever" to name a few. Strengthening at like level 20 will only upgrade it to "superior" or something while upgrading at a high handicraft level will upgrade it to "exquisite" least for me. It was like 1 armot difference to 9 at exquisite.

When I try to upgrade my armor at the workbench, it's just greyed out and says that I don't have enough handicraft, yet it doesn't say how much I need, what's up with that?

You can always improve it even further once your skill is higher.

You can temper again IF the end result would be better than the last time you did it. Like if you temper your steel cuirass to 62 armor, it won't let you do it again until your skill makes it so that the end result is 63 or above.

So yeah, temper away - unless the material needed is exceedingly rare.

Ele is pretty strong throughout, psionics edges out at the very end since its damage scales with skill (ele only gets -mana cost % from skill). Entropy isn't as good, but has the coolest spell effects.

Sure but to get those perks you'll have to go through some phantasm perks too. Might as well use those. Heard this weekend patch will make Phantasms less shit. So we'll see.
The problem with phantasms at the moment is that their attributes (health, mana, stamina) scale with yours so the melee phantoms of which I found the most so far, die if sneezed on if you are a mage. The perk to make their attributes scale with your highest attribute is criminally high up in the tree.

Yes. A lot of powerful items require you to craft them yourself.

What's changing with Phasmalist? I could see them nerfing the arcane fever cost but you can already trivialize that with a healing staff.

Vandal got shafted hard. Due to the focus on magic in Enderal playing two handed is pretty counter intuitive.
The vandal affinities show that, battlemage and seraph force you to swap between spells and your two hander, I suppose battlemage you could just focus on the cloak spells and wade into battle with shocknova to supplement but there isn't a real synergy there in my opinion. Seraph doesn't really do anything special, it's basically just "I warrior that also heal self".
Beast (Lycanthrope+Vandal) just makes your wolf damage higher but except for the abilities the vandal perks don't do much for you.
And Blade Master is completely nonsensical, it requires blade dancer and vandal which has absolutely no synergy.

I can't imagine how a stealth archer could beat the Golden Sickle boss fight. Nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide. And enemies right up your ass.

Two handed Seraph works well enough. I dual cast the armor, life and resistance boosts anyway for maximum effect. In close combat, I use potions for the most part and only occasionally fall back for a dual cast life drain or healing. It may not be one of the highest tier synergies, but it works.

The melee trees in general are pretty lackluster compared to the stealth & magic ones. The stances in general suck. I chalk that mostly up to skyrim melee combat, there's only so much you can do with it. But yeah if you want a fun enderal playthrough don't try to play pure melee.

This is one of the ways you can make 2H and magic work since most thaumaturgy spells are long-lasting buffs. Dual cast armor lasts forever.

Fury-Driven is noticable but pretty slow, around base Skyrim regen. Tower of Strength makes a lot of power attack shenanigans a lot better, especially those that require you to stand still. If you go keepe/Vandal anyways there is no reason not to do power attacks.

How do you open enderal in CK? I tried moving the CreationKit.exe to the enderal folder but it just opens regular skyrim.

Rename your Enderal folder to Skyrim and install the CK into it via Steam.
I renamed my Skyrim to SkyrimS, then renamed Enderal, uninstalled CK from the tools tab and reinstalled it, just do it in the same order I did and it should just be fine for you user.

As far as I can see, you should probably build out your non-lycan perks first until you can stand your ground and can level enough to build up your lycan tree until it's functional.

Do you want to be an archer? Get the 4x enderal faster arrows mod if so.
Or, even if not, it speeds up enemy arrows too and makes them more true-to-life.

Check the optimization tab in the launcher settings and make sure to tick as much as your computer can support.

Remember to distribute your memory points and don't just eat every skill book you find.

Reduce shadow distance and quality as they eat the most frames in the object rich level design of Enderal.

Get the "no magic ai dodge" mod, because, yeah, no one ever wanted that shit ai behavior.

I read somewhere that it's bugged, probably fixed in the coming update.

what said - you have a finite amount of combat and crafting skill points per level, so if you use every skill book you find then you'll end up gimping yourself. I made this mistake when I first made a character - don't let it happen to you. Also, press H to check your stats and amount of skill points you can allocate. Try to have a general idea of what sort of build you're going for.

Only use them if you're sure you want the skill.

Only use books on skills you plan on using. Everything else is just a waste. You can stay your hand for a while with skill books until you find out what kind of build may suit you, but once you decide, you will be comitted. There is no properly working respec yet, particularly when it comes to the perk trees as the abilities count as dragon shouts and there is no code in the engine that allows you to remove them once they're learned, as far as I understand it.

Doesn't matter when you read them, just don't waste your learning points on anything you don't plan to use. There's also a respec mod in case you realize you fucked up 20 hours in.

Use skill books when you can, and on skills you plan on using. Decide on a build now and if you want to focus on light armor or heavy armor. Psionics and sinistrope are fun, elementarist is meh, phasmalist is pretty fun too but high focus, basic sword and board works, so does stealth archer. Whatever you fancy really. Rhetorics is really, really good. So considering leveling that before buying bunch of skill books.

Nope. Only magic resistance is coming from a keeper perk and two tiers of a thaumaturgy perk. Rest is either enchantments, potions and/or a light magic spell.

Wildcat combat is pretty rad when installed with Enderal. Its either you get wrecked or you tear shit appart. Works nice if you make an archer - not the sneaky one. Enemy archers become top priority too.

Conjured weapons will likely be the best weapons once enchanting gets nerfed. I think most people play a combination, pure melee is boring but it's good to have something to fall back on when your many is empty or the enemy got close.

It makes an effort to inconvenience you in almost every way. If that's down your alley, go for it.
