I know I'm late to the party but I just wanted to say that I just got a chance to play Odyssey and holy shit it's the best video game experience I've had in years. The game is pure joy, makes me feel like a child again. Can't stop playing it.

Its fun and all but honestly overrated. I saw this on Yea Forums before buying the game but its hard to describe without playing it.
Basically, its clever without being especially engaging. The levels are fairly large but linear and never feel as open as SM64 (at least the first 5, where I stopped playing. FYI New Donk City is shockingly NOT one of the earliest levels. I haven’t even unlocked it!). Its a pleasure to play but not addicting. I want to keep playing, but I have limited tome and there are other games I’d rather play.
Long story short, itspretty fun but overrated not really worth $60 unless you love Mario, definetly not a 97, real shit. Hope that helps.
