One of the comfiest controllers

>one of the comfiest controllers
>but the d-pad is an utter fucking nightmare

Imagine playing Link to the Past on this thing.

Didn't they fix it by the time the ones with the smash paintjobs started coming out?

why Link to the Past specifically?

This is one of the least comfy controllers of all time
>giant face buttons
>face button layout is stretched horizontally
>d-pad sucks
>joysticks are uncomfortable
>non-pressure sensitive triggers with no travel
>they still want us to pay as much as a bone/ps4 pad despite the significant decrease in features, comfort, and build quality

No.

:(

It feels nice to hold and grip, but I don't think the buttons and sticks hold up as well, the d-pad is super slippery. The switch has wii-u virutal console input delay as well.

>le dpad meme

Im glad im retarded and dont care about a dpad
Continues playing diamonds on cross tag

What's wrong with the D-Pad? I got mine around Smash's launch and it feels nice and clicky. Buttons fucked up?

Yes, the later versions are completely fine. They're up to models ending in D (starting from A).
This guy is a liar.

t. handlet

ds4 has the shittiest build quality of them all. double inputs on analog triggers, joystick reads opposite input three controllers straight. the one that came with my ps4 also had stripped screws which I noticed on the first day when I tried to tighten the loose faceplate. I don't know what it is but their quality control is all over the place. it's a shame since I quite like the d-pad and joystick layout.

Try a pokken controller, it works much better for BBTAG

Sort of.
The problem is a quality control issue with the Dpad. Even since release some Dpads aren't too bad, but others were really bad. Each revision has fixed it a bit, so there are less crappy Dpads and more good Dpads. Is it mostly fixed now, but the occasional bad Dpad is still out there. The bad ones are rare at this point.

I actually like the controller, but really can’t justify the non pressure triggers. I was happy to finally get one, but I had no idea it was a thing until I got it.

That and the flushed home/etc buttons. 50$ seems fair

It get double input, like you pushing right but it also wrongly input up.

Having to hold your hands together in front of you is anti-comfy.
Being able to lean back and put your hands in any position you want without having to let go of the controller is comfort.

What's wrong with the dpad, I've been emulating and playing metroid just fine.

If you are over the age of 14 and not a woman those are too small to be comfy.

Yeah but they tiny, sometimes you want firm grip. I always go with pro on Smash Ultimate and cons on Splatoon.

True. Which is why we need someone other than Nintendo working on this. A little competition could push us toward the best possible controller. Everyone would just say the other companies are ripping them off though.

joycon dpad is actually godlike
quarter circle inputs dont hurt like a motherfucker anymore

Controller thread?
Anyone else's PS4 left stick act retarded when moving up?

The tape trick works perfectly. I would rather they just put an original DS dpad though that was perfect

>Anyone else's PS4 left stick act retarded when moving up?
The PS4 sticks are trash. The controller in general is fucking garbage from a build quality standpoint. Easily the worst dualshock they have ever made.

So why does my smash pro controller still have a fucked d pad

Because you touch yourself at night.

I could deal with it since every other aspect is god-like until I played tetris 99 and some fuckwad that developed the game thought up on the d pad for hard drop with no customization controls was a good idea.
I never get mad but the amount of miss drops got me pretty peeved.
Doing a genocide run of Undertale on the switch also got me steamed because I knew I would have had no trouble on pc with my ds4 d pad since it's the perfect d pad.

>A FUCKING LYING SHILL
Fuck off retard.

What's the best D-pad for joycons: the Hori one or modding one with a D-pad shell? The shell looks like the better solution if the D-pad is any good, which I'm dubious of.

Nintendo could make a mint selling their own D-pad left joycon with a proper oldschool Nintendo-quality and sized D-pad.

What do you even need analog triggers for?

I used to love split joycons for Splatoon but then I had to send them over for repairs and switch to Pro for a while. When I got them back I realized that Pro is just too comfy and I could never go back. Single-hand motion controls are still superior to two-hand controller.

But up has always been hard drop.

Hori dpad joycon doesn't support wireless connection, so it's handheld-only.

...what's so frustrating is they almost did this with the Online controllers but had to fuck it up with too few buttons.

I don’t know if this is just a defect of my controller but the R button is kinda stubborn and doesn’t always register without a hard press, i notice in monster hunter when i sprint it sometimes doesn’t work

>bought this thing in november in anticipation of brawl
>only charged it once since playing it
What the fuck do they feed this battery?

Yeah I know, I just got used to playing other versions of tetris specifically on pc which is honestly my own fault but fuck it kills all my speed having movement and drops on the same finger.

I'm fine with that, but the shell swap looks like the overall much slicker solution. But I can't tell by looking whether the d-pad pivots in the middle as would a proper D-pad.

It’s good but the wii u pro controller was even better

Nope. I bought mine in january and the Dpad is fucked

>What do you even need analog triggers for?
Driving games obviously.

That might just be monhun, the sprint input is weird in GU

>A little competition could push us toward the best possible controller. Everyone would just say the other companies are ripping them off though.
In fairness the last time other companies tried getting in on new ways to WAGGLAN' they were totally ripping them off though.
