what games does Yea Forums recommend for a PTSDfag? (kinda missed most of the last 10 years of vidya).
certain games can literally make me fall on the floor, piss my pants and scream like a madman for 20 minutes (battlefield, or any army games for example, or even heated online shootouts in GTA 5).
other games can be very therapeutic for me, putting me in a trance like state. sometimes i like to just walk in the mall in dead rising 1 for hours, avoiding zombies and exploring stores, i also like to stay in passive mode and explore los santos in GTA 5, and i also liked SOS: the final escape (titled disaster report in the U.S) because it had armed enemies only in one level.
what other games have 'exploration' as the main focus, with the possibility to play with little or no combat if you want?
I have detailed typed account from my Grandfather that served in both WW1 and WW2, in which in an artillery crater that where his best buddy died but he served while charging German lines heavy arty fire. After which being injured, helped defend a front line field hospital excavation from German onslaught with a machine and almost useless arm.
He never bitched or cried or got triggered. You are a perfect example of how pussified the young generations are today.
Also, I am former US Army (11B) myself, so don't try to claim I don't know what I am talking about.
Jace Allen
Insurgency
Angel Cook
>t. Winston Churchill
Jordan Collins
XCOM, recreate your squad and watch them die lol
Andrew Carter
Try some puzzle games like Tetris. It got some great releases this year. There is Tetris effect and Tetris 99.
Noah Green
Arma 3 on a RP server maybe?
Dominic Moore
Astroneer is pretty comfy. It's all about exploration and gathering materials.
Liam Ross
Traumatic experiences aren't something you can entirely control. Most paramedics don't feel much until one day the stars align and the 50th kid they've seen with a caved in face just doesn't set well with them. One grandfather of mine had a blast bombing jerries and evading patrols while some of his friends came back as puling mockeries of a human being.
Jayden Wright
PC: Yume Nikki (free on Steam) Zelda: Twilight Princess and Wind Waker Phantasy Star Online Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Skate 3
fortnite is good for exploration too. just turn down the soundfx because it has some really loud gun fire
Escape from Tarkov, STALKER & the Metro series are a good place to start. If you are feeling particularly sociable Squad or Insurgency are pretty good also.
Michael Thomas
Subnautica and The Forest both are decent survival/exploration type games, they can get intense though.
Owen Collins
obviously he's not gonna play the missions. there's a free play where you can just fly around and collect materials if you like
Connor Gonzalez
>what other games have 'exploration' as the main focus, with the possibility to play with little or no combat if you want? Minecraft somewhat fits that description. You can explore a procedurally generated world at your own pace, and you can set the difficulty of the game to Peaceful, where no enemies spawn in so there's no need for conflict. Kill yourself.
Michael Reed
Not everyone is built the same. Back in the day there was just as much PTSD, it just didn't have a name other than "that tweaking homeless veteran weirdo in town". Good for your Gramps, he's exceptionally tough, but most people just aren't. Most people also just died in those wars, so not ptsd for them either.
Some guys can do SOF and ruck heavy loads in the afghan mountains into their late 30s. Other's knees fail them after their first tour. Nothing you can do about it, either you got it or you don't.
Xavier Myers
Are you retarded?
Lucas Rivera
rising storm 2 vietnam Squad Insurgency:sandstorm arma 2/3 Stalker series space flight games would be alright for you
James Sullivan
Whoops, misread the original post. Those games are probably not a good idea. Except the STALKER series, as exploring the Chernobyl exclusion zone can be a a pretty comfy experience.
Blake Garcia
>freeplay >random disconnects, loss of progress and bugs everywhere That shit makes anyone lose their shit
Luke Rodriguez
He fucking listed Dead Rising as a game he enjoyed the exploration aspect. He's looking for games with good exploration, it's kinda hard to pick games without fighting that unless you want to recommend Dear Ester.
Brandon Martin
Minecraft would sound pretty good for you.
Isaiah Murphy
You don't know what you are talking about.
Sebastian Campbell
If you just wanna wander around and explore with no combat, you could play something like The Witness. Just looking at stuff and solving puzzles.
Andrew Gonzalez
I don't give a fuck if you don't like the game. It has good exploration, go fuck yourself.
Ah yes great exploring, shitty materials and garbage loot. Kill yourself for having such shit taste you bottom feeding retard
Jacob Diaz
>Guy has PTSD and can't play games with intense combat and gunfire >Oh, I know, he should play these survival horror games set in apocalyptic Eastern European hellscapes where the goal is to shoot humans and or monsters in the woods/tunnels/Chernobyl
Sebastian Turner
Stardew Valley The Sims (2,3,4) Rune Factory Minecraft (Not survival mode) Viva Pinata Cities Skylines subnautica (heh, nogunz amirite?) Farm/Truck/Train Simulator (Ramstein AB anyone?) Proteus Slime Rancher Journey Animal Crossing Dawn of Discovery
That's all i got off the top of my head. Real nice and tranquil
Easton Young
In all seriousness you should get in to JRPGs, some of them try to do the relaxing atmospheric angle. Maybe the new Dragon Quest is right up your ally
Owen Ortiz
>t. "deployed" to Kuwait Cry harder, bitch boy. Just because you got a confirmed MILES kill at NTC doesn't mean you've been in the shit.

>certain games can literally make me fall on the floor, piss my pants and scream like a madman for 20 minutes (battlefield, or any army games for example, or even heated online shootouts in GTA 5). It's all in your head lol.
I’ve never been in your shoes before but if I get stressed out I put my headphones on and play space trucker while listening to music it’s pretty comfortable and relaxing.
Hope you get better anyway dude always try and find someone to talk to about shit even if it’s just neets on Yea Forums
There's Breathe of the Wild I'd say a vast majority of that game is exploring. Managed to pour in something around 250 hours just going around the map.
Camden Davis
Some comfy simulation games could work. Eg: Cities Skylines Tropico Planet coaster
Even worse, half the time the goal is to simply not die from ambushing mutants or bandits.
Hudson Watson
Dark Souls series + Bloodborne
Ryan Edwards
>fighting against Germany Your grandfather is a fucking race traitor and you and your family should be ashamed
Luke Cox
goddang it bobby

>Also, I am former US Army (11B) myself, so don't try to claim I don't know what I am talking about. I believe it. I also believe those who serve and don't return with some kind of trauma are actually psychopaths.
Adrian Jones
2d platformers: >celeste and super meat boy Walking sims: >firewatch (inb4 reee), journey, dear esther, what remains of edith finch (my favorite) If you can handle swords and not guns then sword based games: >Witcher 3, hollow knight, dark souls series, breath of the wild Puzzle games: >Return of the obra dinn, the witness, the talos principle, unravel, steamworld dig 2. Other calm games: >To the moon, finding paradise, super mario odyssey.
Halo: Reach Spec Ops: The Line This War of Mine Metro series The Evil Within Dark Souls Xcom
Benjamin Baker
Kingdom Come Deliverance.
It's the first game where I've actually just walked through the forests, doing nothing but enjoy the scenery. It's so beautiful it's like going on a digital hike.
Occasionally there are bandits, however.
Christopher Turner
>best buddy died >He never bitched or cried or got triggered.
Funny I watched the Pacific years ago and then the Interview of the Marine that fought in those wars and he gave account of him having PTSD in a middle of day and his wife had to hold him close and told him there wasn't any japs around. I think your full of shit when you shit talk about today's generation or your grandfather has something else going on his head.
Eli Peterson
i read that as digital kike
William Myers
Play even more shooters and “realistic” games. PUSH YOURSELF FURTHER user! PAIN AND FEAR UNLOCK TRUE CLAIRVOYANCE!!!
Ryder Smith
psychopaths make good soldiers
Elijah Rivera
Onward in VR, very chill and relaxing
Oliver Green
Myst series although Myst 3 and 4 have fail states concerning you essentially being murdered The Talos Principle (Myst and Portal but presents an existential crisis) SOMA has practically no combat but some extremely lame cat and mouse stealth sections. The devs would never admit it but the new "Safe" mode is basically the way that game should be played where the few enemies can still be hostile but won't ever kill you. The excellent acting and duality of the ending almost brought me to tears first time I finished it. Pretty good story but there's absolutely no replay value.
Literally almost any Playstation or N64 platformer. Racers also come to mind, but not flight sims
Joshua Martin
Yes they do. This only works if you find enjoyment and relish in the suffering of others. (i know)
Easton Wood
They also ensure that we need soldiers
Levi James
Play fantasy games my man, I'd recommend any Souls game in particular.
Bentley Perez
Have you tried therapy
Levi Green
I’m so ashamed of my cushy enlistment from 05 to 09 that I don’t bring it up at all to include job interviews
Kayden Wood
If you like walking simulators, Everybody's Gone to The Rapture is pretty good. Really great voice acting.
>Ori and the blind forest >Forza horizon (comfy driving) >rainworld >owlboy >hollow knight >destiny 2 >unravel1/2 >stardew valley >persona 5 >the witness
basically any game that can give you a nice rhythm of regular play (desinty, stardew, persona, forza) or a fun platformer with some combat elements (owlboy, ori, hollow, unravel)
Xavier Diaz
Also forgot subnautica! That one would be a great exploration one for ya
Dominic Scott
I work with a faggot that won’t shut up about his 4 year stint in the navy moored off Kuwait at some point
Cameron Young
thanks u 4 ur serbice [clapping intensifies]
Daniel Johnson
i already play forza horizon sometimes.. but no open world racing game has really hit the comfy spot for me since TDU2.
ori and the blind forest elite dangerous (you can specifically do exploring, hauling, ect ect journey psychonauts if you want a highly colorful platformer with very minimal violence
Nathan Peterson
psycho women force their husbands to look for an escape from them. so they join the army hoping they will die.
Adam Torres
one thing I miss is molesting anyone I wanted and executing civvies when the platoon sergeant was stressed
Angel Powell
Wow how edgy
Isaiah Diaz
>kill people: get jailed >kill people because gubbament tells you to: get thanked for your service (murder service) yikes
Lincoln Diaz
i spent a lot of time admiring the towns and scenery in ni no kuni 2, if you're into that kind of ghibli storybook feeling

Carter Walker
>have ptsd >buy battlefield Why are you military guys all a bunch of fuckups? Dude play sims or strategy games or something leave high speed shit for kids.

In the Angola border war when the whites fought commie niggers and cuban shitskins, the guys called it bush sickness, my uncle got it and opened up on his own camp. Hes always been crazy though. My dad was a navy diver though.
