Riku was Okay up until after II, Dream Drop Distance could have made much more use of his time as a no strings attached playable character. And even though it's a game where he co-stars he's still second fiddle to sora even though he's the one who gets the title of master in the end. It's astounding how gimped he is in KH3 for the 10 seconds you play as him, no Shotlock and no possibility to even use flowmotion in his area, he doesn't even get any decent finishers outside of Dark Firega which should have been his basic spell. Just stripped of his powers Sora literally fights 4 Titans as soon as that cutscene ends and fights a bigger wave of heartless than Riku does, surviving without breaking his fucking Keyblade.

Because he acts like a child in nearly every way. This was fine in the first game since he was a child but post-CoM it's awkward and frustrating. I don't care if there's plot reasons for it, it's still hard to sit through a game for 20 hours and however many hours of cutscenes with a protagonist like that.
