Will they make use of the switches superior hardware

will they make use of the switches superior hardware
This is the first Pokémon rpg on a home console since colosseum, how will they make improvements considering the switch is way more powerful than the 3DS

>improvements

But we already know that the game looks like dogshit.

the only problem with the game is the low texture quality. they're still using 3DS-quality shit and the switch can handle more than that.

>XD
Fuck off

Hardware isn't the issue, Pokemon desn't need to be on anything more powerful than the 3DS becuase the gameplay doesn't demand it.

But since it’s now available why not make the game (specifically the battles) more flashy and aesthetically pleasing

That's completely backwards thinking, dude. The gameplay doesn't demand anymore than what the 3DS could do because the games were developed for the 3DS.
Now that far more powerful hardware is available, why not expand and improve the gameplay and presentation as much as that allows?

Because they don't want to and people buy it anyway.

Gamefreak can get away with it, this isn't done with malicious intent or part of a grand conspiracy, they simple can get the job done with basic work and that is literally ok based on factual data and working experience of decades, it might not be the scenario people want but it's the one that will stay for the foreseeable future.
If you could sell a block of gold to millions of people would you bother making an elaborate sculpture just to sell it to the same amount or just ship the block?

Yes, that's obvious. We all know Game Freak is lazy and technically incompetent. That's not news.
Regardless, "the gameplay works on the 3DS so lmao why do anything better" is faulty reasoning.

That's what their reasoning is though.

>improvements
poketards will buy literally anything

Except Pokémon let’s go

There's nothing faulty about minimizing effort while maximizing profit, you're just mad because you don't get a better game but Game Freak is doing the absolute right thing.

they bought that too

>implying

>implying this isn't just sun moon ported with new story and pokomens

If they meant to say "Game Freak doesn't care", then they should have just said that.

>maximizing profit
There's no way you could possibly know this.
Or are you able to compare the game's success a year from now to the success the game would have had in a theoretical universe where an effort was made?

>will they make use of the switches superior hardware
No, of course not. They'll have a gimmick evo that evolves into form 1 in Docked mode and form 2 in hanheld mode, though.

>will they make use of the switches superior hardware
there probably isnt a point to increasing graphics too much, since you will likely play on handheld mode most of the time

what would actually be important is reducing lag, slowdown, or other performance issues
3DS games had a few in larger towns, and smooth performance is an imperative on handheld games
since you have less time to play a game, you will have less tolerance for landing screens or buffering

Because they can't. They couldn't even properly make use of the 3DS. X and Y don't support 3D in the overworld. Gen 7 doesn't support 3D at all. Models have excessively bigly polygon numbers that make the games run like shit on 3DS for no good reason.

I'm like 100% sure the models were meant to be future proof, and we're going to be stuck with the same ones for ages.

The framerate will be 20fps instead of 10

Because every time Game Freak tries to reinvent the wheel, it has ended up being a steaming pile of shit. Note how the most unorthodox games, like Let’s Go, have been among the worst in the series, while the most basic games, like BW, have been among the best.

>there probably isnt a point to increasing graphics too much, since you will likely play on handheld mode most of the time
Other Nintendo games on the Switch have no issue having decent, stylish visuals with solid enough performance, handheld mode or not.

>for no good reason
So they wouldn't have to recreate 900+ models every time they make a new game
The models they made in 2013 could last them decades, they're 4K viable just by adjusting the textures and how they're rendered.

Poketard here, Let’s Go was the first major Pokemon title I didn’t buy.

>Because every time Game Freak tries to reinvent the wheel
When was that?

>Note how the most unorthodox games, like Let’s Go
That's just Red and Blue except with dumb changes to make it more similar to Go.

Sun/Moon were also fairly unorthodox in getting rid of Gyms, and most people didn’t like it.

So changing one or two features for something that isn't even THAT different is "reinventing the wheel".

Right. Sure.

>improvements
The models were already high quality so all it does different is play better than gen 7 on the native 3ds but all it will do better than emulator gen 7 is environments if they aren't lazy enough for that

>completely reinvent how you encounter and catch Pokémon, the most fundamental systems in the series
>"you only changed one or two things"
go be a dumbass somewhere else

I'm sorry user, you must be mistake. Pokemon has it's very own board, /vp/! Please ask if you have any other questions

>You'll have to pay to trade because of the Switch paid online
>You'll have to pay to catch 'em all

Well fuck I knew this day'd come.

>being this much of a stupid nigger

You must be 18 years or older to use this website.

Luv how it saved itself from the lets go recycle direction

Attached: image.jpg (750x1334, 551K)

The models don't look the same though.

Not him, but at least a Link Cable is a one time purchase for it's system. Paid online is something that has to be constantly renewed and paid if you want to keep going forward.

Yeah, I meant the GTS you fucking stupid prick.

Let's Go did, to be more like Go.
Sun and Moon didn't.

Let's Go is your only example of the formula really changing much at all, and as I understand it it isn't considered a "core" game or whatever they fuck they were calling it.

Except in this comparison the link capable is built into every system, but you have to pay to be allowed to make use of it.

That is blatantly the same rig, even though they're at slightly different angle its obviously the same what are you talking about.

Attached: 1546169383213.jpg (960x960, 86K)

You had to pay for a Link Cable to "catch 'em all" from the very beginning of the series. Nevermind the cost of multiple versions of the game. Whether it's a one-time fee or subscription is irrelevant to the point, and for what it's worth the current online service is more useful for more games than the Link Cable ever was.

What's your point?

They won't
In fact it might degrade because gamefreak thinks working on the Switch is hard
At least the games are called /ss/.

what foul racist language

Whatever you say

>What's your point?
That your comparison is retarded.
There's a world of difference between needing extra hardware because trading is otherwise simply not possible, and needing to pay to be allowed to use the internet connection in a game when the internet works outside of games and was even free in games before.

But even besides that "old games were jewish too so it's fine" is pretty dumb.

I get the point but technically you make more from the sculpture as you can keep the gold shavings and reforge it for future use.

What a fucking retarded post
Kys niglet

The purpose of version-exclusive content in the first place was to encourage you to buy the Link Cable. It wasn't possible to trade without it, but needing to trade in the first place was a dilemma the company created to get more money out of people who had purchased the game.
The entire point of "catch 'em all" from the beginning was to make you pay more, it's completely laughable to act like this is in any way a new concept. Do you understand?

Don't mind me, just bumping a dying thread that's actually about vidya.
