Carry a couple medkits on you, they're very easy to fabricate, and don't be so scared of the carnivorous fish.

Don't go near the engines of the Aurora, leviathans live there. You need only be scared of Leviathans until you can build a Stasis Gun, then you don't even need to be afraid of them.

Also, the cyclops seems fucking great, but you need upgrades if you're going to bop around in it without being careful. First time I got mine, I turned it into a mobile base, filled it up with all of my materials so I wouldn't keep having to go across the map for shit, and then was casually cremated by a Reaper and there was literally nothing I could do.
