Fortnite is allowing paid advertising in their game

>he thinks advertising in games won't be the next trend
What stuff do you look forward to seeing in vidya ads? For me it's McDonald's™ Quarter Pounder.

Not really anything new considering in-game advertising was in a game from 2006

The album is on Spotify already. It's pretty bad, which is disapointing considering their old stuff is really good.

Weezer's always been advertising their stuff through the internet, they've been doing this in many creative ways since the fucking 90's, when sharing your music through the internet wasn't even a thing
Don't you remember when they did that music video with a bunch of memes in them way before normies even knew the word or when they did cameos in various YT channels like schmoyoho in like 2010? It's more a weezer thing than a fortnite/nu-internet thing desu

Not only their old stuff, but their recent albums were pretty solid, the only good songs on the whole album are Living in LA and California Snow. High as a Kite is passable, but the rest is just so bad. It's even worse than their 80s cover album which was just made for the keks

Weezer has two good albums. Two.

>California Snow
>Living in L.A.
>good

Yeah, if you like those, you're better off listening to Post Malone and Bastille.

>High as a Kite
>passable
It's the only good song on the album.

Fuck off, Leslie Jones

Green, EWBAITE, and White are good too

Let me guess, you think it's good because the music video kinda looks like the Buddy Holly one?

Two incredible albums and some decent songs scattared through the rest.

Damn I remember when CPUs were hard to understand back then.

At least now it's much more simple. i3 i5 i7 etc.

>Weezer

who in the fuck still cares about that band? `

What an absolute whore of a band

I JUST WANT A BF2142 REMAKE OR A SEQUEL PLEASE GOD FUCKING PLEASE IS IT THAT HARD TO ASK???? JESUS I DONT CARE IF I HAVE TO PLAY AS A WOMAN I JUST WANT TO AIR DROP ONTO ENEMY SHIPS AGAIN AND USE MECHS PLEASE GOD FUCKING HELL

It's good because it's the only song that feels like thought went into writing it, and isn't just a half-assed attempt at aping outdated pop trends from years ago.

Super Monkey Ball

That fucking soi look on his face makes me want to absolutely destroy his sweater.

>implying the thanos event wasn't a giant ad
Your about 9 months too late OP

Take me back, back to the shack
Back to the strat with the lightning strap
Kick in the door, more hardcore
Rockin' out like it's '94
Let's turn up the radio
Turn off those stupid singing shows
I know where we need to go:
Back to the shack

It's not a sweater, it's the Weezer Snuggie™

Blue vs Pinkerton
Pick a side.

fine

ONLY if that fucking island constantly plays buddy holly, as that is their ONLY good song.

fuck you!

have fortnite zoomers even listened to any weezer?

>thinking this is something new
Fortnite already had John Wick and Thanos skins to promote their respective movies, while I agree it's a horrible trend that shouldn't be accepted it's weird you just noticed it now.

Blue is good. Pinkerton is kinda cringy but good. White album was nice. I don’t get everything else and how pacific daydream got a rock album nomination. The fuck is wrong with them.

no fucking way

WRESTLE WITH JIMMY

Just hold the thread as he walks away, then.

probably not, which is what makes this a good marketing move by Weezer. there's a whole new generation of kids that are about to be exposed to their music and at least some of them are going to become fans.

give it to epic to really know and be in touch with their playerbase

remember ads in sim city?

>Listening to post-Pinkerton Weezer

watch him unravel, he'll soon be naked.

>listening to a dad-rock cover band
lmao fucking boomers

My dude.

Unrelated, I’m going to buy a record player, what should I get? Also, should I get the entire LCD Soundsystem discography?

EWBAINT is the closest they ever got to Blue/Pinkerton levels again. Give it a listen if you haven't yet.

On vinyl I mean

>Blue
>SFTBH
>Pinkerton
>Maladroit
>EWBAITE
>White
>Soon to be black
That's not even including Rivers' first couple alone albums

Pinkerton easily

Advertisements in games have been a thing since at least the ps1 era, if we don't officially licensed products.

>he thinks advertising in games won't be the next trend

it already was a thing though.
I distinctly remember

>Rainbow six Vegas using realtime upcoming movie adverts
>Nathan Drakes Uncharted "5-dollar foot long" commercial and ingame taunt
>pretty much any racing or sports game ever is LITTERED with advertisments and sponsors just like in real life
>Mortal Kombat 9 had a stage with like McDonalds adverts and shit on a billboard in the background. sometimes it would just be Johnny Cage"NINJA MIME" though

I honestly dont mind it. I even like it sometimes if its meme worthy like the Nathan drake shit.

I want some mcdonalds now

yes but i think he means more so
non of those billboards are the same as this whole island

Wells Fargo had an entire second life server dedicated to their own shitty little version of the game called Stagecoach Island where they played banking sim pretty much.
What does it matter if a company gets interested in video game advertising?

>non of those billboards are the same as this whole island

How so?

Sonic Adventure 2 was an advertising vehicle for shoes.

They really could have made the "inclusivity" work if they had set it in a fictional time. I hate how they teased and teased 2143 in BF3 and BF4 then they went with Niggerfield 1 out of the fucking nowhere.

Maladroit was really bland and boring

What a shit band to dedicate an island to

Advertising in games goes back way further than that, but if we're tlaking like contemporary ads like that, I remember a year before 2142, we had SWAT 4 which was a controversy so huge due to their dynamic online ads that they had to be patched out to try and save face.

I also remember downloading Dorito games off Xbox arcade just to score some quick and easy gamescore points.

so long as a company puts effort into it I dont mind.

did you ever play Sneak King? that free game that Burger King used to give out?

>Mortal Kombat 9 had a stage with like McDonalds adverts and shit on a billboard in the background. sometimes it would just be Johnny Cage"NINJA MIME" though
Is this real? I played a lot of MK9 and don't remember anything but Ninja Time on that board.

I distinctly remember seeing Friday the 13th Ad on there too

You must be a special kind of underage if you think this is new.

The first few songs maybe but don't sleep on Death and Destruction, Slob, Burndt Jamb, Salve and December

>Next trend
They have been around for longer then a fucking decade.

Member Doritos in Peace Walker?
Member iPod in MGS4?
Member CalorieMate in MGS3? Fuck, even back in the 90ies companies made Licensed games specifically to advertise, most of them terrible.

I recall one game i played was COMPLETELY advertisement, it was about shopping in a regional store and all the items you shopped for was actual IRL brands. It was actually kinda fun though.

>Advertising in games will be the next trend
Beat me to it

Why are these homies dissing my game.
