No idea why they decided to implement it in the first place. The GL was always a slow and lackluster weapon. World made it somewhat usable, but overall feels less rewarding are more unga bunga.

Ignore everyone else. Gunlance is still unuseable trash in XX. Worse, I have to either subejct myself to the trash heap that is MH World or only use long gunlances in 4U if I want to play online with my bros.

CB went from high IQ guard points and GOTCHA BITCH to unga bunga SAED spam in World. It’s one of many weapons to have its depth reduced to spamming a single move ad naus.

they probably saw that no one shelled since poke poke upswing, hop, repeat was more effective than poke poke shell.
and they needed some way to get the player to use shells.
removing overheating would make it an okay tradeoff.

i remember in 4u despite being a gunlance main myself i would kick anyone using:
any ranged weapon
hunting horn
gunlance
and switchaxe
in any 140 gq because those players were guaranteed to be shitters who did no damage or carted often.
i had to stop using gunlances in guild quests and just use the shaka dbs with a trapping set so i would never fail.

the meta for CB has always been spam saed since 4U iterated the move. Look at every single CB TA on the jp wiki. They all use the general Load Up build

You mean most of them, off the top of my head Rajang and Deviljho were both special. Jang moved around too much to land SAEDs and Jho is practically the only monster in the game where the Seregios Charge Blade is actually good

What changes do you want to see in inceborne? I would love to see shells finally scale, that way you get what's going in world where r6 and r7 are better than most r8 weapons. Also want blast dash to come back some way. Also wyvern blast to he one big hit to make it better for waking up sleeping monsters.

Gunlance in both X games is unfun garbage. 3U is the best for Gunlance since there are specific GL you can play shelling and be viable

Sure. You'll likely take a little longer, but there's no shame in that. Towards endgame though you don't want to be handicapping yourself, especially when trying to solo EX Deviants that can take the entire 50 minutes to slay.

I mean I run CB guild with only absolute readiness. You can do pretty much anything provided you're good enough.
