I think we're just a bunch of oldies. I love the 3D models we have now. FINALLY we get to see Pokemon in full-modeled 3D (sans Pokemon Stadium), yet... the old ones looks just so awesome, especially Gold/Silver/Crystal. I think it's that GameFreak had to deliver something grand during the peak of the Pokemon craze - something to truly be considered a sequel to RBY.

I found my old gameboy color and silver cartridge in my parents’ house the other day. It felt so small in my hands. I remember putting so many hours into it. My dad brought silver home one night after a business trip, I remember his striped red tie and black shoes and black hair that’s been grey for so long now. He laughed because I was so happy and watched me run up the stairs to play it. I hate getting old, today I put on my red tie and black shoes and thought about that little green toy and it hit me real hard.

Sadly nah man. You could trade to Gen 1 to 2, but not 2 to 3. You can trade 3 all the way up to the latest games though.

Strange, I had a lime green gameboy colour too with pokemon silver. Still my most favourite and memorable pokemon game to date, I've been wanting to replay but the internal battery is dead so it doesn't save any more. I'd get it replaced but a part of me wants to just keep it the way it is, I might just replay soul silver instead I hate getting old too
