Oh shit yeah I did play that one it was good actually. But I dunno, it wasn't Mortal Kombat to me. Maybe it's nostalgia goggles, but going back to the old ones there's just something there that isn't now that I can't put my finger on. It's the style I think. The new ones try to be to gritty/dark/edgy and realistic, whereas the old ones are full of colour and look stupid but in a good way. There's SOMETHING different and I can't be fucked to work out what it is, but if you go back and play the old ones you'll see what I mean.

MK9 definitely has that in spades. It has a touch of grittyness too, but it's definitely classic MK. It's MKX that completely fucked the formula up. MK9 is just full of stupid MK goodness, especially in the story.
