I played DS3 a while ago. I really hated the beginning and had to force myself through it. As soon as I got to Irithyll of the Boreal Valley the game really clicked for me. Pontiff and the Twin Princes are probably some of my favorite bosses in the series that I've fought. I want to play it again since repeat playthroughs of Souls games are always good. But I don't want to be stuck in that slump at the beginning again. What is a good weapon or build to use that makes the game more fun?
Dark Souls III
rush past everything to get Vordt's rapehammer, everything's fun after that. keep a light weapon as a backup just in case
Yes, the game takes its time to get going because at the start almost everything looks the same. I kind of hated irithyll because of those dancers, i was using a ultra greatsword with a ton of stamina, but the game is not balanced for that.
I wish too, that the game had more unique surreal/fantasy places.
>the game is not balanced for that
if you're bad
Claymore or hallowslayer are good
Any dagger with the sidestep WA can be used to quickly skip through the water in the areas that make you run slowly and you can keep using it even when FP runs out.
If you don't care about npc questlines or certain items (assuming you're talking ng+) or you already know where the stuff you need is, just run straight to the bosses. In the catacombs if you turn right at the entrance you can drop down some ledges to where the rolling ball and skip the beginning.
If you're decent you can overcome anything a souls game throws at you in any way, and i wouldn't change my ''berserk'' kind of playstyle, but the game is not balanced to use ultra great swords, when using a longsword is a fuckton easier and more effective. All the other souls games are balanced regarding that, except this one.
The best way to play game is to have a shield that can parry, a weapon for tight quarters, a fuckhueg damage weapon and a ranged weapon. The game is balanced around you taking advantage of all of its systems, using weapon arts and shit.
Might try this. What's a good light weapon backup and what would I need it for?
I assumed as much, since I never really took adventage of my weapon art or had any ranged attacks. My first playthrough I was coming off a replay of DS1 for the first time where I used the Balder Side Sword. Looked up what people considered the closest thing, then grinded until the Lothric Knight Sword dropped and used that.
I'm partial to a Corvian Greatknife, but follow your heart
Either a Corvian Greatknife or a Thrall Axe.
You’re wrong, every Souls game has broken weapons for PvE and PvP.
Just use sharp exile curved greatsword or sellsword winblades lmao
Sure, my advice is for if you're not using broken weapons.
This was meant for
Spells. And I'm being serious here. trying to out wizard Crystal Sage is way more fun than longswording his dumb face off.
>exile curved greatsword
it's actually not that good in ds3, at least it's been nerfed, sellswords though, yeah they're stupid.
Ah, mighta been changed from when I last used it.
What's your favorite fun run weapon these days? I keep finding myself going back to the darkwraith sword and partizan.
Just run like sanic through the early areas like the speedrunners do
I mostly switch between Murakumo (i just love that weapon) and some Yhorm Machete, i love staying away from shortswords , they make the game unfun to me
Get big, go find the Greatsword and slam every fucker that dares step in your way
Trade in Vordt's soul for the big mace. It OHKO most stuff and there are plenty of bosses and shit weak to frost. Couple that up with a fire sidearm to reapply frost to bosses and players, works really well with a Fire Follower Javelin in the offhand.
I don't have the DLC. Should I get it? When is the recommended time to play it?
