The God of War series is like the perfect model of the fall of Western vidya. Starts out with a focus on attempting fun gameplay, has no shame in being a celebration of masculinity, starts to feel more and more soulless with cashgrab sequels, then completely degenerates into a cinematic SJW walking sim.

all that has is flashy lights to make it look EPIC!!! That combat looks like ass. Same problem as Anthem

Red Dead 2 deserved it more and would have made more sense considering they're the ones who got the narrative and other major awards when GoW only had narrative going for it. Nobody can say with a straight face that GoW has great gameplay contributing to it's GOTY.

This was just a case of some gay ass reviewers feeling GoW was more deep and resonated with their cum guzzling feelings.
