AKA the Last Guardian situation. Too much hype, too much effort into trying to live up to that hype. There are such things as overdeveloped games, and these three are exactly that.

Suda-51 makes games that appeal to a very small demographic, but he makes them well, doesn't have sky-high budgets so they don't need to sell GTAV numbers, and he completely corners the market because the people who play his games are looking for a "Suda-51 game", which he almost always delivers and nobody else can really do as well as him.
Up until the release of Automata that was also the case for Taro. But then he got Akihiko Yoshida to make his character designs, gave the combat to Platinum to make it as casualized as possible and normies ate it up. And the rest is history.

KH3 is trash dude. It is way worse than 1 or 2, but I didn't play XYZ CHRONICLES ICE-CREAM EXTRAVAGANZA so I can't compare it to those.
