Why does everyone hate invisible war? I thought it was pretty good.
Revision>every other DE game
No
Agreed
>Based
Pretty accurate list, however I like them all
GMDX 9.0 is better
deus ex>invisible war>human revolution>mankind divided
revision is trash and so are you
Universal ammo, Horrible level design, shit protagonist, no skills, streamlined biomods
Jensen
Clone
A
Breplytothisoryourmotherwilldieinhersleep
Mankind divided was the closest we got to deus ex despite ending abruptly.
The omar were some weird mofos. I remember being so hype for this piece of shit
Plebbit taste detected
Mankind divided is really underrated and got a ton of shit for its length because of turboplebs that rush through games like cod campaigns. The side missions were some of the best in the series
I still don't get it how is a short game? 20 hours first playthrough plus a lot of replayability, I agree though that the last mission didn't feel like a truly final mission
I spent 70 hours doing everything and exploring all routes. I had a great time with it
swap md and hr, md has to lose points for being unfinished.
Worst protagonist
Accurate
>shit protagonist
>playing as male alex
dumbass
MD is superior to HR in every way including gameplay
>Human Revolution>Invisible War
Do you have a single fact to back that up?
I am 99.9% sure you've never played IW if you think it is worse than HR and Mankind Divided when it is the same game as them.
>Worst protagonist
Nah, that would be Jensen, who genuinely feels like a parody character. It's like the developers were so terrified of making another Invisible War that they copied JC's gravely voice, trenchcoat and sunglasses. But while JC had a deadpan sense of humor and other characters actually made fun of his trenchcoat and sunglasses, we are supposed to take Adam Jensen seriously. He just comes of as juvenile, edgy and way too try-hard.
Here comes the brain dead IW contrarian fanboys.
>y-you didn’t play it
I played both the Xbox version on release and Pc a year later. It’s a bad game
Even Harvey smith admitted iw was a complete blunder pile of shit. Why can’t you?
>It’s a bad game
It is.
But how does that suddenly make HR/MD good games?
Because they are. Both games are fun despite not being as good as the original unlike iw which was just ass
Controversial opinion OP but a good one.
fag
Mankind Divided is pure dogshit because all the Czech stuff in the game is American tier, i.e. it has a bunch of retarded google translate Czech writing, accents are all wrong, a bunch of Russian stuff mixed in the wrong places/for no reason. Really it is a complete shitshow and destroys the entire setting for me. If they weren't going to put any effort or research into Czech Republic then why bother? It's like if somebody made a game taking place in Tokyo and everybody had Chinese names and Indian accents, that's how fucking retarded it is. I am borderline mad. It is the worst Deus Ex game for sure.
How is it any worse than HR or Mankind divided? Those games were blatant step downs in terms of stealth, content, variety, and even RPG elements from IW.
"Universal Ammo" is garbage, but so is automatic health regen, no melee weapons, constant melee cutscenes, and a last half of the game that was totally and completely rushed and devoid of meaningful content.
Because I can't stand that people on Yea Forums suck off Mankind Divided and Human Revolution when they are pretty much the same quality as Infinity War. I like all of them, I just think that people who seem to hate IW either never played it, or haven't gone back and played it since HR. I actually did, I recently replayed the whole Deus Ex series (not counting that mobile game) and IW was bretty gud. Not as good as Dues Ex, obviously, but certainty better than people on Yea Forums claim it is.
I’m so sorry about your shit taste
The fact that you can't argue my point just proves I am right. You have nothing to go off of because you never played IW. All you did was read on Yea Forums how terrible it is an how BASED Human Revolution is because of the LEAK!!!
There’s nothing to argue. It’s a bad game. The fact that you think i never played it is hilarious to me.
fuck
Based and redpilled
Normally when a game is bad it is extremely easy to explain why it is bad. I want to see your explanation of why the game is bad and worse than HR and Mankind Divided. It doesn't have to be a long post, I was able to explain problems that HR had compared to IW relatively easily in two sentences.
Fuck no the fov in mankind divided was shit. Good game but definitely worse than human revolution.
>Not as good as Dues Ex, obviously, but certainty better than people on Yea Forums claim it is.
IW shits all over everything that made Deus Ex good.
>universal ammo
>retarded cluster fuck of a story
>loading screens up the ass
>tiny hubs even compared to the original
>horrible sidequest like the coffee shop owner
I could keep going
It was still fun but it did have more problems than the other games, especially with unreal engine 2 being a shitheap.
Switch MD and HR and I agree.
>Switch MD and HR and I agree.
Why
i unironically like IW more than HR but other than that i agree
"better" doesn't even begin to describe it. GMDX actually enhances vanilla. revision makes it worse.
well if you have it for pc then play it on pc, but i had the ps2 version first, and you can still enjoy the game, even if it is somewhat degraded. it's not the most degraded ps2 port i've ever seen, that would be chaos theory. it's barely even the same game.
IW had some neat ideas
>conflicting mission objectives
>meeting your classmates at different points of the game
>different pilots
>Cairo
>a bad ending where you fucking die
purity fags. Invisible war was fun. the ending is weird though.
my bad, wrong thread.
You guys ready for the inevitable Deus ex remake
I was about to say that deus ex on ps2 was completely butchered and you’re insane
>the ending is weird though.
There's multiple endings. One where JC goes full Bob Page and turns humanity into a collective hive mind of bugmen with him as the Deity. W/e the illuminati is. And the Templar one where it goes day of the rope and see grey Ayys lynched from street lamps during the credits images.
maybe i'm so used to playing the pc version that i've forgotten what the ps2 was like, and how it was degraded.
you see*
I shouldn’t have said butchered since it’s completely playable but they changed a lot of shit on the maps to compensate for the ps2
yeah quite a bit, but it's not that bad in comparison from memory. the pc version is clearly the best version though.
Too much of a good idea and money maker for Square to go for it. All Square care about is pissing fans off and hemorrhaging money while focusing on garbage kids games like Kingdom Hearts.
dx1 > md > hr > postal 2 > iw
facts. I don't understand how people can consider invisible war a good game, let alone a good deus ex game
The cgi videos were kind of cool
>de hr
>rooms are pretty empty except for a couch and a desk with a pc
>de md
>dude let's fill every room with a walking simulator worth of eye rape details lmao
>shit protagonist
>implying JC isnt
>seriously implying JC is not the greatest protag in vidya
Wew lad. Alex was as dead as a doorknob, JC was at least a bad ass and had cool 1 liners
JC has stood the test of time and people still quote him 20 years later.
I wish eidos montreal would just make the anime-inspired sci fi game that isn't in the deus ex universe that they so badly want to make
>he doesn’t want more Deus ex
no, I just don't think they can do the deus ex name proper justice
it's like watching a fat kid run a marathon, you can see in his eyes that he'd rather be sat at home watching TV and eating doughnuts, since that's what he's good at
Because they are hypocrites.
They will shit on IW for being consolized, but praise HR for the same fucking reason.
Human Revolution? More like Hormone Replacement.
Time to play deus ex again
>game gives you the freedom to be fucked in the ass
>you do it
>blame game for it
FAGGOT
>Paul
They are only reason to play IW.
What's so great about this?
-It's ALMOST completely automatic, for most textures. Textures can be up-res'ed in batches and quickly previewed in game using the DX10 sideloading feature
-It maintains the original art style and direction of Deus Ex, as there's no other artist's hand involved
-It can be used on literally all game textures, including character models, which HDTP never had the manpower to touch
-This is the big one: this can be made to work with any mod, using the same batch export / conversion process.
HR is better than MD as it goes all the way, letting you see all the secret underwater installations at belltower.
While MD just leaves you hanging and has no hub in China.
Chances are some of you have heard of the hot new emulation trend involving AI upscalers. Rather than using a basic algorithm like bicubic sampling, this uses a trained AI model to estimate what detail is and how best to scale it up to a higher resolution. This is mostly intended for photos, but it's had some success with game textures as well.
You can see where this is going; over the past day I've been dicking around with these using the Deus Ex textures, and the results are pretty promising. The most common system used in 'the scene' is ESRGAN (since it's free), but I didn't think the results were very good for textures. Instead I've been using a commercial application, Topaz A.I. Gigapixel, and the results are pretty good.
HR looks better, has a better protag, has a better story, has bigger areas to explore. The only thing that's bad imo about HR and MD is that is gives higher rewards for avoiding combat and thus funnelling players into thinking and playing it exclusively as a stealth game.
Invisible War was just a fucking terrible game all round, the visuals especially are utter garbage even for it's time.
Oni seems to be closer to what HR tried to be, should've made sequel to that
Hr didn't go all the way though, we were also supposed to get an upper Hengsha hub to explore but that was scrapped.
it gives*
>has a better story
>Human Revolution
Surely you jest.
Also the superior graphical fidelity of HR is somewhat minimized by being fucking yellow.
>Surely you jest.
Not at all, IW is trash tier and by far the worst game in the franchise and would still be worst immersive sim made if not for Underworld Ascendant.
>Also the superior graphical fidelity of HR is somewhat minimized by being fucking yellow.
Gotta disagree there, try playing the Director's Cut where they removed the Sepia filter, it looks worse.
be the*
It's not like you coudln't change it.
anything is better than stupid shit like "dude we combined every religion in the world don't think about it lmao". how do you go from the intelligent writing on the original game to this?
After the disappointing MD sales, do you think Eidos regrets pandering to Yea Forums and stopped browsing here?
Or do they know it's Square Enix the issue in all this?
I mean they got the gameplay part down, that's for sure, it's the rest that is lacking.
I remember Eidos saying how they would go all the way with MD, not cutting anything like they did in HR.
>After the disappointing MD sales, do you think Eidos regrets pandering to Yea Forums and stopped browsing here?
>Or do they know it's Square Enix the issue in all this?
Yea Forums didn't force them to put microtransactions in the game at the last minute.
a bit of both, but with more fault being on square enix than eidos
>HR has a better story
HR fundamentally misunderstood what Deus Ex is about. OG Deus Ex (and IW) was never about augmentation. Augmentation was merely a framing device to tell a story about how technological advances could exacerbate the dangers of economical and political centralization, culminating in JC merging with an AI to form a new enlightened form of government to oppose these dangers. There was never an 'aug controversy'. Augmentations were only used for peacekeeping operations. There are like five augmented people in the whole of Deus Ex, half of which are your collegues.
While Human Revolution was advertised as a prequel, it's actually a reboot of the franchise. Despite it being a prequel (meaning things should be LESS advanced, not more), now augmentation is used not just for military purposes, but everyday mundane activities. All strata of society are shown as being obsessed by the controversies surrounding augmentation. This is taken to absurd extremes even lower-class people and homeless bums are augmented. You even have augmented hookers. This makes no sense. Why would these people spend millions to have their limbs cut off and spend the rest of their lives paying for an expensive anti-rejection drug? How can they even afford it? And for what purpose? To get better jobs? They already have millions to spend, so what do they need those augmentations for? The whole thing is impossible to take seriously.
Augmentations in HR and MD are nothing but a shallow metaphor for topical social issues like the pro-life debate Good sci-fi is universal and timeless, HR is sensationalist garbage that's already dated.
Besides, it even fails at being a shallow metaphor for social issues. The aug incident happened because someone basically flipped a switch and turned all augmented people in killer zombies (why did nobody question why this was allowed?). This is an issue of cyber-terrorism, not social conflict.
Are you Czech?
IW is one of those underrated gems that only braindead fanboys shit on, just like DMC2, DmC, Shadow the Hedgehog, Serious Sam 2, Skyward Sword and Mega Man X7.
The story and characters in HR are terrible. The entire premise is just retarded, in one hand augmentations are still in diapers and require a expensive maintenance drug most people can't even afford yet the general population is so hostile towards them there are riots in the streets of Detroit, a city that I'm sure doesn't have any more serious problems that dem robot crackas.
In the topic of characters, I legit laughed when I heard some of them talking about the UN resolution, because that's the kind of discussion uneducated gangbangers have.
At every turn I couldn't stop thinking what the fuck where the writers thinking. I mean there are fucking aug zombies later on.
Centralization of power is one of IW's themes, the time-frame is too small but a centralization of religion, especially in an increasingly atheistic modern world, is something that could happen.
After all religion used to be a lot more diverse before the spread of Christianity, the Muslim conquests, etc.
The funniest part is that the templars have an anti-aug agenda in IW and are better written than the entirety of HR in that regard.
Fuck, that episode of GitS:SAC where the Tachikoma become sentient is better in that regard.
Fuck.
>HR looks better, has a better protag, has a better story
>HR
>better story
>someone presses a button to remotely take control of augmented people augmentations and force them to kill tons of people
>this is somehow the fault of the augmented people, who are exiled to ghettos, and not the fault of the manufacturer who deliberately programmed those augmentations such that someone could press a button to remotely take control of augmented people augmentations and force them to kill tons of people
>prostitutes have their limbs chopped off and replaced with cybernetic parts to cater to a very specific fetish
>they pay millions for this operation and millions for the anti-rejection drug that they will have to take for the rest of their lives
>they do this despite aging in a few years to the point that they will no longer be able to make a living as a prostitute
>we are expected to take this seriously
Mankind Divided isn't even a complete game.
all these games are ass
HR is very unrealistic. I work in the Medical Device industry and there is no way the FDA would ever grant approval for weaponized Medical Augmentations.
t. braindead fanboy
You're forgetting that Augmentation is much regulated in MD and the original DE than in HR. Plus it's not more advanced it just feels that way because it's newer game. The tech you use in the original DE is nanotech augs which are far more advanced than anything in HR.
If they were to do a remake of DE like Capcoim have done with RE2 then the augs in DE Remake would be back to feeling more advanced than HR/MD.
HR/MD would be fine if augmented people were rare and the story didn't really revolve around it so much
then Adam could have been this one REALLY augmented guy compared to everyone else who's just using them for prosthetics/neural enhancers
and you could also have a few military grade things going on
this would limit the scope of the game, but I think it'd be in a good way
plus then you can still have the attack on sarif industries that injures jenson and you can still have a lot of the conspiracies revolving around that
I know you thought you were extremely intelligent with this post but there's nothing stupid about public's reaction to the aug murder spree. Nobody outside of Panchea at the end of HR knows that someone caused them to do it, plus look at modern America, some nog shoots somene and it's an uproar about how it was the guns fault and not the person using it.
the public's*
Take it back
Yeah I was hoping to see something like the glory days of Gunther and Anna instead of what we got. Just bloody murder machines that have traded their humanity for power.
>Infinity War
Nobody is currently pressuring the FDA to do so, or lobbying in government for it, or trying to place their own people within the FDA to get it passed though. So in reality you don't know if they ever would or wouldn't.
level design
exactly
where are they in the prequel games anyway?
where's jordan shea?
they've got these characters that they could use, but they don't
Just fucking sell the ip to arkane and be done with it. At least there are people there that worked on the original
Gunther and Anna were murder machines.
>consolidation of religion is something that could happen.
not a fucking chance. every major religion tells you that other religions are wrong and that anyone who follows them is a heretic. within religions there are smaller sects who kill each other over trivial differences. now imagine all of these people are thrust into a dark ages scenario without any government to keep them in check.
>Sell it to Arkane
>Jensen replaced by "Stronk black wahmen" in what was supposed to be his final chapter
No thanks.
NOOOOOOOOO MANKIND DIVIDED IS TRASH WAS FOUUUUUR HOURSSS DABBBERINO SUBSCRIBE AND HIT THAT BELL
Yet Churches in Scandinavia want to open Islamic spaces in their Churches, a mass drive for removal of all borders, and for all races to become mixed race. There is definitely a move going on to bring about a one world system with a one world religion.
If it does get a remake I hope they include the cut option where you side with UNATCO through the story. But I doubt they'd put in that much effort
the prostitutes were being forced, don't you remember the quest? you rescue one of them from being held against her will in a storage unit.
What the fuck are you talking about?
Gigapixel sucks massive dick and is even shittier than Waifu2x
>game good because it good
it's not
The funny thing is is that he posts that thinking he's being intelligent yet women are modifying their bodies all the time in the adult industry and sex trade. They're still going to age and end up worthless but it doesn't stop them from shoving silicone implants into their chests and arses.
>barely any levels
>levels that are there are poorly designed like the garm base aka lol 2 warehouses and a connecting tunnel
>most of the game is sifting through identical looking slav apartments and offices scrounging for garbage since you'll never run out of items
>boring military/cop characters who barely change
>less weapon variety than HR, a couple of old ones tucked away into augment trees you'll probably never touch
>stacking dozens of healing items together when HR restricted you to a few a stack
>environmental hazards barely do damage anymore so you don't even need the protection augments, just chew through the 60 odd heals you have
>no box bots
MD was a complete disappointment.
that's a retarded pretend church basing its policies on what's socially trendy instead of actual religious doctrine in order to look good in the news and social media. iw takes place after a new dark age without global communication, it doesn't make sense for those trends to continue in a scenario like that.
>>most of the game is sifting through identical looking slav apartments
MD is peak aesthetic you pleb
>No thanks.
At least Arkane actually has a passion for making fun and fluid first-person gameplay.
Meanwhile, in Human Revolution/Mankind Divided:
>third-person cutscene for melee takedown
>third-person cutscene for climbing a ladder
>third-person cutscene for using an augmentation
>third-person cutscene for leaning against a wall or cover
Also, are you seriously implying the new Deus Ex games, which literally had the marketing slogan, 'aug lives matter', are not SJW as fuck?
It would have been much worse if not for one guy in QA who spoke Czech who joined in later stages of development. Too bad all VO had already been done by that point and all he could do is tell the devs to fix some strings of text here and there.
consolized really destroy level design and oversimplified mechanics
the story and gameplay was fine
I hope Page was smart enough to include a kill switch to clone Jensen
Most of these issues existed in HR. Environmental hazards were a joke in HR because of regenerating health. Weapon variety was also extremely lacking in HR, and augmentations were boring as fuck.
>games Yea Forums pretends are good
Any of these honestly
>The entire Gothic series
> The Witcher 3
> The Last Of Us
> Final Fantasy VII
> Planescape Torment
> Doom (1993)
> Fallout: New Vegas
> Deus Ex (2000)
>Street fighter (all of them)
>DBF
>Daggerfall
Environmental hazards actually dealt damage in HR. You couldn't just stroll through them like in MD. They still were a minor issue but at least you had to somewhat consider taking the augments for them or know what you were trying to do in the hazard. In MD you just chow down on your infinite supply of healing while they barely tickle you. It's silly.
MD has worse weapon variety than a game with bad weapon variety? Damn
I remember dropping HR during the very first firefight and not touching any of the series after that. I must be too shit for these games.
why is this series always plagued with cut content? god damn
Never said they weren't SJW, i'm just saying that Arkane really aren't any better and i'd rather not buy a Deus Ex game just to have the actual MC kicked to the curb and replaced by "stronk wahmen minorities".
fuck you dude
>Environmental hazards actually dealt damage in HR.
Yes, and this was dumb because of regenerating health. The hazards were either insta-kill or something that your regenerating health instantly cured. Why are you critiquiing MD for this when the cause lies with HR for introducing regenerating health to the series?
Also having all those third person cutscenes is much better than having to play as a black character.
Bob Page is in the original DE, Jensen isn't so that answers your question.
this is the truth
Square Enix are one of the scummiest companies out there that's why.
All of those games are good
>mankind divided
>better than HR or IW
HAHAHAHA
Bait
Invisible War isn't a bad game, it's just set too far in the future for the setting to be compelling. Loses the whole 90s X-Files/pre-syndicated Alex Jones thing.
Because MD was trash
This entire thread is bait
>The hazards were either instakill
That's preferable to just tickling you. Hazards in HR were actually obstacles. You had to either know what you were doing, have the augments, use your limited supply of healing to brute force them combined with knowing what to do, or avoid them. There's no such choice in MD. They barely do anything and on the off chance your hp gets low you have dozens of healing items in your inventory at any time. I played HR directly after MD to confirm my feelings on what I had just played. The shock when I stepped into the gas under Detroit and died after a couple seconds was apparent. That doesn't mean HR's hazards were perfect or even good, but at least they were A Thing. As opposed to Nothing. Which you can say about a lot of parts of MD
Deus Ex > Human Revolution > Invisible War > *Power Gap* > My Shit > Mankind Divided
it is good, but its also the worst of the best so it gets ranked last
Not only is the setting bad but the features and level design were horseshot
Yeah, the writers are french-tier/david cage-tier.
But we already got the mandatory niggerbitch in the form of that Alejandra girl in MD. Unskippable cutscene with her every time you start a new play.
Can we agree that IW making ALL the endings of the original canon was retarded?
What a brainlet post
You didnt even complain about any specific thing
The game sucks because niggers in detroit are complaining about the UN? What?
Why doesnt this nitpicking extend to Mankind Dilated which is by any objective measure a far worse game, at least level design and story wise?
Only brainlets think that
She wasn't the main character and i had no issue with her being there as a supporting character.
Did you play Mankind Divided? Already got nigger politics and it killed the franchise.
I will just make fun of
>the visuals especially are utter garbage even for it's time.
nigger you can't beat DE1 on that field
Didn;t say she was, but she was an ugly black bitch the likes of which appeared as if in accordance with an agenda in almost every AAA title of the last few years, and when you start a new game you have to look at her stupid brown monkey face for five minutes of unskippable cutscene.
was Invisible War actually THAT bad?
i'm an old man and i played dx on release. loved it, and got super hype for invisible war. i remember playing it for about an hour and dropping it. is it worth picking up for like $2 on steam to give it another shot? or is it really just irredeemable garbage
At least in MD you didn't have black men asking you to be their "chamber boy" and wanting to fuck you.
DE1 falls into bad but charming graphics for me, same shit when replaying Unreal or UT99, etc. IW doesn't even have charm, it just looks and plays like dogshit.
>ugly
Pfft, i disagree, if she was a real person 'd bang her.
Why the fuck do you contrarian faggots suddenly LIKE Mankind Dilated? Everybody shat on it here when it came out and for good reason
Its easily the most poorly written game in the series, completely dropped the Alex Jones tier conspiracies and made it uber-normie friendly with fucking BLM signalling and "muh apartheid" race analogies even though it made ZERO sense in context to any of the endings of HR, which by the way they decided to go with the most RETARDED ending of HR and make it canon.
Gameplay wise all they did was add a bunch of useless augments in addition to the ones you already had, and the game actively punishes you for using them, not that you would need to because every level is designed for you to be able to complete it without any strategy or stat investment at all. Level design is vastly inferior. Everything has 20 solutions to it so that even a literal mongoloid can finish a level. The setting is complete trash, loses the whole cyberpunk feel that defined the series.
But oh now the game that single handedly killed the entire franchise is a masterpiece? Fuck off. Zoomers first Dudesex game.
JC is literally the best protagonist
Terrible boxart that screams that's there to appeal fans of dudebro shooters. The first games boxart at least fit with the game being a techno-thriller.
I liked the gameplay of MD but I kinda got tired of the whole nats vs augs thing it has going on. When it started to getting into classic Deus Ex conspiracies towards the end, the game was over. Hopefully they're making a third one, if I recall, SE said the series isn't dead.
i'd*
that it's there*
Another old man here. Going back with an open mind was interesting to experience the plot, as it really does try to pick up on the threads of the first game. The gameplay is just kinda lame but I've played a hundred garbage slav shooters since it came out so I really didn't mind it that much.
For 2 bucks I'd say give it a shot.
Imagine being this mad
I found it was an ok game, the issue is everyone compares it to the original dx. Its like comparing the original Robocop with Robocop 2
I am mad
Saying that fucking disaster is better than IW or HR is a crime
It is
>Everybody shat on it here when it came out and for good reason
no we didn't
>caring about writing or story in a deus ex game
the gameplay is good
that's all that matters
>killed the franchise
umm no square enix did that
fak u
Is it possible to install multiple mods and then use different ones for different files?
>no we didnt
No you didnt*
Everyone else did
>caring about writing or story in a story focused game
Woah crazy!
>the gameplay is good
The gameplay is literally identical to HR but without the good level design
>umm no sweetie square enix did that
Kill yourself zoomer
Micro transactions didnt kill the franchise, shit sales killed the franchise.
There are plenty of games out there with jewish business practices that sell shit loads every year. Giving MD a free pass is the most pathetic cope of all time.
The game got bad publicity with the BLM shit and the general direction of the story was off putting. The half assed story and proposed "episodic" releases were off putting. It sold much worse than HR because its objectively a much worse game.
He's augmented
Who is everyone else? Yea Forums is not 1 person
I didnt say Yea Forums was one person
I said everyone else shat on it, and they did
assholes, you guys made me reinstall it again...
>more positive than mixed
>0 negative reviews
What’s your point
>246 negative reviews
>24% negative
>21% mixed
Stop being fucking retarded
Critic reviews are literally meaningless
Compare to HR reviews
Story was pretty cool. I kind of feel like it was too futuristic for being set 20 years after the first game, which was probably much closer to the tech we'll "realistically" have in 2050.
It just feels bad to play. Everything else about it completely sucks.
yeah that makes sense
OP is a heterosexual
this
instead a good half of npcs from every strata of society have intensive augmentations that look ridiculous, with no aesthetic finishing touch or even basic coating to prevent dirt deposits and ease the maintenance or visual pleasantness etc
especially with the public sentiment being what it was, there should be a top tier "pretend it's a natural limb" market out there
faggot
Deus Ex > rest don't matter
I don't think shrinking the worldbuilding like that would be a good idea
why should the same characters be involved in various important events across decades
Must be some kind of a standard
what he meant is that it was not commercially viable with the figures he supplied
the costs of investment would be hard to offset over the limited time
agreed
Based
>more positive user score than negative
What’s your point
>remixing a game for absolutely no reason whatsoever
I agree. MD was great for the sole reason of having to actually pick and choose aug upgrades, even if they weren't permanent choices you were locked into, it was still a step up from HR.
That you dont understand the point of an aggregate
>there are people that play deus ex for the first time with mods
The only acceptable mod is widescreen support
I do understand that you’re a faggot but that’s besides the point.
>completely dropped the Alex Jones tier conspiracies and made it uber-normie friendly
So you basically skipped the sewers entirely? Impressive I didn't even think it was possible to finish the main quests without going through there at least once.
I agree nu-DX as a whole just did away with everything that made DX interesting and replaced it with stuff revolving solely around augments and neuropozyne and aug-apartheid and stuff, but saying there's nothing sounds like you didn't even set foot in the sewers.
I finished the game nigger
Have you even played Deus Ex 1?
All the conspiracy stuff in the original DX was way more grounded in reality and better researched than anything Alex Jones ever ranted about though.
>Nah
Stopped right there
Mankind Divided is unironically the best game in the series the only one that you could say comes close or is equal is the original Deus Ex. If you disagree you are just a hipster and have probably never even played the game.
The same goes for Resident evil 6
Only about 8 times, yes. Please don't call it Deus Ex 1, it's called Deus Ex or DX for short.
I think with MD they wanted to allude to the original DX's MJ12 secret facility in the sewers but ended up just having to scrap half of the story after London. And the original never had anything related to Alex Jones, all its conspiracy stuff was well researched and interesting because it kind of crept up on you and before you know it you wake up in a secret prison under Liberty Island.
>tfw you will never play deus ex for the first time knowing nothing about the story
The level design is absolute garbage.
This
>tfw can't forget much of the game after playing it so many times and it being too memorable to forget and Yea Forums constantly reminding you of every bit of it
>Mankind Divided>Human Revolution
lol
Hrs right though
Kill la Kill yourself, samefagging faggot.
>literally only one boss
>one hub city
>none of the plot decisions you make really matter (such as decided whether or not to give the info rucker gave you regarding to traitor to miller or the nigger goblina)
>no pritchard or most of the previous games' characters, only sarif who appears via voice link for a 20 minute side quest
>have to read a fucking book to get up to speed with how adam survived panchea and got to pragye joining tf29 in the process
>microtransactions
>ending is even worse than hr
MD is even worse than HR.
No
That is actually very accurate. MD had a lot better gameplay than HR, but storyfags are thinking it's incomplete game.
Are you really taking shit like this seriously?
>MD is even worse than HR.
>even worse
HR is a fully finished game with a fully developed story, like it or not.
MD is a fucking garbage chapter 1 with abrupt story that was never fully developed and dropped by Squenix.
It had better level design. And even if you hate the hamfisted message about prejudice, the writing was better than HR's shitty character drama about chasing after your cunt of a fiance.
kys leftist
i shat on it when it came out for a lot of reasons, most of them are still around, but now that it's in the bargain bin those things aren't as big of a deal to me and wouldn't stop me from recommending it to someone who liked hr.
>>literally only one boss
Since when is the quality of a game defined by its bosses? By that logic, Deus Ex 1 is the worst game in the series, since all the bosses were skippable.
Would you rather have the atrocious boss fights of Human Revolution>?
>It had better level design
no
wrong
I'd rather have multiple bosses you can fight, or manage to get past them without doing so like the first game. That's what made it great, you can approach every situation in many different ways.
It did though
Yes it does, I'm currently replaying it on NG+ after two years.
Just activate your smartvision and you'll notice how the map is filled to the brim with secret rooms and path.
Why do you keep posting this image that has half of its info completely wrong?
You don't die from drops if you get more than 30 minutes past the intro. There are multiple augs that are manually activated without cutscenes (silent running, cloak, heavy item lift/throw etc.) Ghost in the Shell is tangently related story-wise at best and there aren't story elements that clash with with the original DE. Boss Fights are fixed in the Director's Cut. You basically do the same fucking "press button" ending in every Deus Ex. Some are just more literal.
What was wrong with the level design in IW?
>Jesus Christ Denton
>not the best protagonist
correct
The anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century
The reason it had shit sales was garbage performance, real money praxis kits, and 1 time use pre-order bonuses.
Okay globalist
>garbage performance
see I must have been blessed because it ran smoothly without issue on release for me.
With a 970 and i7 4790k on win7.
>consolidation of power is an exclusively leftist concern
So how are you enjoying your 3 media conglomerates replacing over 2000 independent newspapers in the course of 50 years, moron.
I personally didn't have much issue performance with either with a 2600k and 970. The steam forums however were full of complaints regarding performance.
A refreshing change from the Academy.
I have the exact same setup and got solid 60 on mostly high settings. These people think just because they have their big dick --80 cards they can set everything to ultra at 4k
besides long loading times and the occasional stutter when walking into large area, it ran well for me too on release. I had essentially the same problem with dishonored 2 and everyone was complaining about drops in combat and stuff too.
What new locations would you like to see?
>Tokyo
>London
>A return to hell’s kitchen
>Dallas Texas
>Dulce New Mexico
I would like to point out that a pad in MD says like 90% of augmented people were killed in the Aug incident. A rather high number, but would explain why civilians avoid augments in the future.
Finally, a good fucking opinion
Amsterdam or St. Petersburg
>this is supposed to exist 20 years BEFORE Deus Ex
Motherfucking Paris FFS
I want to see the illuminati HQ.
>new locations
>Paris
It's an incredible game and continues all the storylines from DeusEx one. Just stick through the shitty first few hours the game gets way better
Every single game in existence has to cut content before release or no games would be released.
He mentioned New york in his list, so I guessed locations from the OG game counts as new.
suck it
That's Hengsha though, a lot of Deus Ex takes place in Detroit which we all know is a colossal shit hole. Also as i said earlier in the thread, it's newer game running on more modern tech. If they wen't the RE2 Remake route with Deus Ex they could easily have Hong Kong and Paris looking better than that.
Sorry Hell's Kitchen i meant, Detroit was HR.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm yeah I'd agree with that. Mankind Divided and Human Revolution were both good and I'd only rate MD as a little bit better than HR.
I also still enjoyed Invisible War despite its glaring flaws.
weebs want their weeb shite
I'm not that moron but I call it capitalism
maybe he likes living in monopolized market
well they don't have to be fully involved but they should make an appearance
Jordan Shea even says that she was in an earlier program, which could mean taskforce 29
plus we had a younger manderley in dxmd, so it'd make sense that you might see a few more dx1 characters in the prequels
Either way, Detroit is still a shithole, but they have a suspended monorail, meanwhile New York still has an old fashioned subway train.
Detroit is actually nice now
you're just saying that so I'll go there and you can rob me.
You didn’t win the action packed trip to Detroit?
Did anyone actually win this by the way? I heard it came with a self defense class no bullshit
I did and I gave it to a friend of mine. he never came back
It's alright. As a sequel to one of the best games ever made "alright" falls pretty flat tough.
It will always be "Jesus Christ, Denton".
You had me until the RE6 part.
based
MD is underrated as fuck
Yup
well
Daily reminder Volkard Rand is Janus and Adam is a clone created by the Illuminati to take him to him
>MD currently on sale
How essential is the DLC? I don't want to play almost double the price just for some insignificant shit.
Dlc is good but i wouldn’t say it’s essential. Get it if you enjoy MD and want more after you complete it
actually true, good taste
not so fast
I just noticed there's a Deus Ex package with all games plus MD season pass for less than MD+season pass so I think I'll go with that even if it means I have to blemish my library with The Fall.
Have fun man oh and has anybody actually played the fall?
Since it’s your first time playing make sure you really explore as much as possible since there’s a ton of missable stuff in the first play through.
Thanks.
That's what I expect from a Deus Ex game.
Can we finally stop pretending that Kentie's launcher and his renderer is not a hot buggy mess?
Huh? I never had a problem with it
>having shit taste
What a shame
because you can't even fucking play it on modern PCs
Deus ex is my favorite game of all time but what would you say is the worst level in the game? A lot of people will say the ocean lab but I actually liked it
Password?
I liked Ocean Lab, it felt like a homage to System Shock which was probably intentional
No because it isnt
>reminder we were supposed to go to the fucking moon in Deus ex to destroy a rogue AI
A lot of cool shit was cut.
I didn't like the way to the helipad much, the Mole People tunnels and beyond weren't that interesting. Once you actually hit the heliped it gets great again though, especially the office rooms.
i really don't like the catacombs
Iron cock
catacombs were a bit long, paris seemed rushed. I think the whole paris section could have been cut, and the leadup to ocean lab could probably have been cut as well.
I'm not a fan of Brooklyn Naval Shipyards
Plasmastab
>Eidos spend a huge ton of money for localization and marketing of Deus Ex in Japan
>game falls flat completely
>Eidos does the same with HR
>game fares better but still not a hit
When will they learn?
Federal Agent, Open up.
Would like to play a dx game where you play for mj12
Desert gas station in New Mexico (iirc?) is easily the worst but it also has a certain charm to it with its post-apoc vibes. Ocean lab and literally every other are legendary-tier.
Stop.
Epic. I liked it though. Basically vanilla+, some cool environments. Obviously not for the first playthrough.
The cut hubs from HR:
>Montreal
>Singapore
>New Delhi (?)
>Upper Hengsha
Bitch, I ain't going back to jail.
woah, you really didnt get the ending of deus ex 1
Good for you then, I had some problems with random freezes when opening menus, turns out it was because of the fps cap setting in kentie's. Also had some minor problems like borderless windowed mode breaking my gamma settings. D3D10 also loved to randomly stop rendering anything outside of HUD and menus.
Also this LaGuardia crash. Personally it never crashed to me, but I have no idea how a fucking launcher can screw up this badly
Sure. Just make every single faction as morally grey as possible.
lol
>better level design
more shit on the screen =/= good level design
HR is MUCH better
Completely forgot this was a thing, silo too right? Third act DX had a lot of globe trotting
psionicman
Im not saying its irredeemably shit
But no way in hell is it better than HR
>Also had some minor problems like borderless windowed mode breaking my gamma settings.
That also happened to me. Also tabbing out of exclusive fullscreen freezes the game for me.
I'll give that a pass because it was barely even a level
Yeah that's what I meant, Gas station/MJ12 Silo.
Is MD your first deus ex game? How is the level design better than human revolution?
Its completely casualized
I don't think I ever used abilities in Deus Ex besides sprint
The PS2 version's cover is kind of nice, not as good as the PC box art though.
>tfw still remembering paying large amounts of betabux to the 'strayan party girls in the hong kong club only to feel like a complete idiot because the girl didn't even want to dance with me
This game was so educational.
youtube.com
pretty funny lul
>worst immersive sim made if not for Underworld Ascendant
Damn, it's that bad? Should I be very worried for SS3?
Who here /augmented/?
I've got titanium graphene bits for a heart valve and augmented vision (contacts).
>tfw fell for it too
truly the most educational game ever made
What is it about Deus Ex that makes it timeless?
The story, the choices in gameplay, the ost, the cheesy but fun voice acting. I still have a blast every time i play it and experimenting with different routes
Its probably the only truly redpilled game ever made
Games like this would never be allowed today
Soul
T
F
2
>Prophetic story
>Interesting gameplay with many playstyles
>Super quotable
>God tier OST
>Extensive storyline even before you get to side missions
>High detail environments that encourage exploration and lateral thinking
>Plot is actually nuanced and doesn't hold your hand in explaining it
>Tons of soul
Basically the Twin Peaks of video games
Based
>High detail environments that encourage exploration and lateral thinking
I wish we could get a level as cool as Hong Kong in a modern game
Literally just because of the atrocious HUD
I forgot how ass it was
i also hate how everyone's idle animation is a t-pose
Invisible war looks ugly as fuck, which is amazing because it used to be a graphical powerhouse
Haha faggot
I always thought it looked like shit at release after getting over the cool lighting and physics
Invisible war still hurts along with spore
This.
Also, in a way it's the last true big PC game, meaning it didn't make compromises for consoles.
didn't stop throwing people into the dumpster from being funny as hell.
What the fuck were they thinking? literally that's over 25% of the screen obstructed
Oh yeah yeah
Deus Ex>every other game in the franchise is garbage.
Although not as good as deus ex the games that followed it aren’t bad games by any means
stop
fucking KILL yourself zoomer
jensen is literally proto denton
>Why doesnt this nitpicking extend to Mankind Dilated which is by any objective measure a far worse game, at least level design and story wise?
Because I haven't played MD yet.
My complain is that characters are not written in a realistic way. That was just the most extreme example I could think of.
I'm almost through playing through the first Deus Ex for the first time (never owned it when it originally came out), and the only other DE game I have played is HR.
For me, what makes the game really hold up and still be entertaining/enjoyable to play for someone with no nostalgia for it are:
1. varied level design that allows for multiple ways to handle each level that encourages exploration and experimentation.
2. wonderful attention to detail that rewards savvy and observant players that foster impactful choices.
For example: I got to the Morgan Everitt hideout and was ready to take the chopper to the next level. I noticed the dead maintenance worker, i noticed how the other worker seemed a little off, and I noticed how there was a LAM (explosive) in the container right next to the odd worker. I have been soo conditioned over recent years with simplified gaming that I didn't think anything of it and finished the level without further investigation. I had a feeling I missed something on the level, reloaded my save prior to getting on the chopper and found out all those were context clues to indicate the "odd" worker had killed the real worker and placed a bomb on the chopper that would affect things later on. This is just one example out of many that I noticed. I feel many games don't seem to have that attention to detail that games of Deus Ex's era had.
You are spot on
Denton is a one dimensional 90s action hero who is on the spectrum and that's a good thing!. Jensen whines way too much.
MD is half a game
thing is, denton's autism makes him a more realistic character since hes basically a vat-grown boyscout
Sarif Industries was a privately funded because based David didn't want illuminati lay a finger on his project.
But he was eventually forced to enter weapon industry because of Illuminati really wanting a slice of his cake, and military was a better funder than lizard men. When Sarif had tech which would jeopardize illuminati's plans shit got down.
>all that silly shit in the first game
>no other DX game ever tried to replicate it
how did they do it? it's a pretty dark and serious game at its core but yet so many ridiculous stuff happens but it never breaks the atmosphere
Half a bad game at that
i think its just because thats what games were like at the time. You could try to be serious but at the end of the day every game played like a quake mod.
Paris almost made me drop the game
Anybody that doesn’t like Deus ex is a video game heathen
Its oddly paced even for a "2nd in the trilogy" entry. Final mission feels like a second act climax.
JC Denton in da fresh
