>McRibzard rebranding side tournaments with a fancy new name, thinking he can still ballroom hall passes and Sunday tickets to scenes he fucked over who won't get any EVO staff support like main stage ones

The difference between Melee and Ultimate will come down to preference at this point. Melee is more rigid and unforgiving with ledge mechanics/knockback/gravity, characters fight with more physicality, recoveries are bad, it's far easier to "gimp" someone or edgehog for early kills, and it has almost no input buffer. Ultimate is looser, more freeflow, its ledge mechanics and recoveries give most characters an easier time of not just getting gimped, and has far more character design diversity with stuff like Duck Hunt's tools being non-existent in Melee.

WebM related is a frequent occurrence in Melee, while in Ultimate the ledge trump mechanic would let you live and the forgiving recoveries would let you get back to that ledge with more ease. This is why 64 and Melee have more lives per match, the pace will revolve around more kills quicker while Ultimate will have each one prolonged for more engagements before the deal is sealed.
