Just a few

yes, look up a top 10 or something, my nibba. playing zero mission atm.

Wario Land 4

Super Robot Wars Original Generation 1 and 2.

Advance Wars and Golden Sun 1&2 are enough to warrant its existince

GBA had some great popular games, and some great hidden gems, too. One that I really liked and replayed recently was Frogger: Temple of the Frog. It's way too short, but the idea of a top-down tile-based platformer where sometimes you have to skip tiles, or rotate on a single tile opens it up for some great, unique levels.

But yeah, GBA is great. I found a gray SP at Goodwill last month for $3, and a copy of Star Wars Attack of the Clones in it, kek. No charger though - I'll have to get one off of eBay maybe.

Metroid Fusion
Megaman Zero
Advance Wars
Those are what I can think of.

grew up with an sp but bought a backlit modded gba but i think the shell and and buttons are 3rd party? dpad is almost unusable, do first party ones feel this bad?

>Modded my Vita recently
>All those emulated GBA games on dat lush OLED screen

Comfy as fuck senpai. DS might had been objectively the better portable but the GBA will always be my personal favorite.

Riviera: The Promised Land
Summon Knight: Swordcraft Story 1&2
Minish Cap
Aria of Sorrow
Battle Network series
GBA was amazing

if only they ran at full speed

it has mario pinball, so yes

My nigga. I thought I was the only one who ever played temple of the frog. Pretty good game desu. You can tell that a lot of soul was put into the game when every single level has unique music.

Hell yeah. Unique enemies, too. And it can be downright challenging at times. Pretty cool game. I never would have thought a reboot of fuckin Frogger could be as good as Temple of the Frog was. What I really like is that is managed to take the core mechanic of old school Frogger and built the game on top of that, rather than just changing everything and keeping the character. Good shit my dude.

Only the best dragonball

What emulator are you using user? The native Vita stuff is still pretty inconsistent, but gpSP Kai runs most titles I've tried really well so far.

gpSP kai is even worse, the only difference is that it has automatic frameskipping so it doesn't matter as much.

BOKTAI
THE SUN IS IN YOUR HAND

fire emblem and superstar saga are excellent

oh shit I forgot about mother 3

do you know the sauces?

Anyone remember when the gba scene took off in 2002/2003? It was so long ago.

My personal favorites are the Starfy games (especially 3), Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, Bomberman Tournament (+the Jetters game which is essentially the same as Tournament), the Mario Advance games (mostly Yoshi's Island), and lastly, Mario Vs Donkey Kong.

Forgot to mention Astro Boy Omega Factor. That game is great too, and one of my favorites.

Tons. Its library was incredibly strong.
>Fire Emblem 6/7
>Mother 3
>Aria of Sorrow
>Pokemon Emerald
>Wario Land 4
>Metroid Zero Mission
>Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
>WarioWare Inc.
Just a ton of great titles, it’s definitely up there as one of the best handhelds

lol have fun if you want real GBA hardware
I currently have a vita and while it's great for SNES, PS1 and genesis it kinda sucks for gba.
Through retroarch (vba next) most games are fullspeed via overclocking but some are weird.
Golden sun for example runs great but you get a bit of lag/stutter when you attack even at 500mhz.
MMBN games will also have lag spike.
mgba seems to be at a steady 45-50 fps for most games too.
I don't know if RA/mgba are in active development for the vita either
other options:
AGS101:
>stupid expensive on ebay, most are "refurbs" using shitty aliexpress shells, bright screen but is has ghosting problems
>ezflash IV is at least 50 bucks
>you get hardware GBC as well but you need to actually buy most games since flashcarts tend to not have the RTC
>hand cramp inducing
>no headphone jack

dslite:
>shit hinges
>still need a flashcart
>hard to find a good condition one

dsi:
>have to use some gbaloader that's barely compatible with anything

Zelda Minish Cap
Metroid Fusion

SNES ports absolutely worth playing:
Super Mario World
Zelda A Link to the Past

>Riviera
>The Urbz
>Doom II

Based.

I bought a tribal GBA SP2 for 30€.
Women don't know what they're selling when it comes to tech.

I played the shit out of crazy taxi

Emulator on my phone, playing:
>pokemon emerald
>advanced wars 2
>shining soul 2
Thanks for the recommendations.

WARIO LAND 4

It has Mother and BN3, fuck yeah it has

Sword of Mana's pixelart still looks amazing, holy fucking shit.

>tfw 3DS has a old af modding community
>collective autism has already mapped the hardware inside and out
>easy to hack and has basically perfect emulation for GBC, GBA, old 8-16 bit consoles and DS games (with a flash cart)
>can transfer game saves between PC emulators, acting as a 3rd world switch console if you want big screen gaming
>pretty cheap
It's pretty comfy tbqh.

Only real issue is 3DS consoles are a lottery when it comes to screen types. You got a 1/2 chance of having a TN screen or IPS screen for old 3DS's and all new 3DS's all have TN screens cause nintendo are nip jews. IPS screens have better colors and you can replace a TN screen with an IPS one off ebay if you have the hardware know how but it's pretty hard if you don't.

There's megaman battle network, advance wars, riviera, golden sun, minish cap, and that's just off the top of my head, without even mentioning the popular shit like pokemon and final fantasy. It really has some unique gems in it's library.

How do I mod my 3DS into the ultimate comfy emulator, user?

In 2002, I was 9 years old. I was diagnosed with type one diabetes, and had to spend about 9 days in the hospital, as they educated me on how to not die, basically. How to give shots, draw blood, count carbs, etc. It was a really depressing time for a 4th grader.

On the second day in the hospital, my dad, as a gift to cheer me up, bought me a GBA with Rugrats: Castle Capers, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, and Rayman. It really, really helped me feel happy. GBA went on to be one of my favorites. In fact, I've ended up in the hospital a couple times since then with diabetes complications (DKA, for example) and everytime, I either bring that little Gameboy or emulate it on my phone, hah.

Battle Network is a really unique game I haven't seen anyone do since (except Shanghai but that's MM inspired obviously)

well that's a shame

Minish Cap
Metroid Fusion

It has the best tie-in game ever made.

In primary school I used to go to the hospital often too but it was because of growth hormone deficiency. It was "just" to do regular exams and decide how to change my treatment but since hospital stays were long I always too my gameboy color with me, and all the other hospitalized kids (mostly kids with type 1 diabetes like you and some teen girls with endometriosis and similar conditions) had a GBA, because it just got released at the time. I can't believe I'm feeling nostalgic over this.

Aria of Sorrow is the best igavania
