Overkills The Walking Dead SHUT DOWN after just 4 months

Be honest, how many of you were suckered into paying upwards of $100 for the game and it's season passes just for them to shut down?

I didn't even realize it was out.

It has the same shitty ai payday 2 had, starbreeze deserves it

GTFO is gonna flop too isn't it

>take the boring half of payday and make it a full game
>is bad
Who could have seen it coming

We cant let that happen bro

>Wanting a good game
>For the people who made Payday 2 worse with every update.
Nah, I saw that coming. Also, Starbreeze send a report saying that they're dealing with Skybound to continue the game.

RIP Payday 3

>make a zombie game
Okay I'm listening
>based on the Walking Dead
No thanks

As if it was ever going to be good since they realized how much money they could make by making dlcs with weapons better than the base game and weapon skin microtransactions with boosts on them.

Obviously not many since it's already dead. Overkill deserves it since they forgot how to make maps.

>Female protagonist on the trailer
>Game dies

LMAO

Didn't even know this was a thing but I don't think anyone expected success from a tie-in game of a dying series.

How could anyone be suckered into paying upwards of $100 for the game and its season passes? The game was universally panned. Why would anyone have preordered or worse bought it after that AND bought the season pass.

Which is funny because its about zombies!

Well more payday 2 milking.

Puns aside, that's pretty much on point. Left 4 Dead showed there was a good demand for co-op zombie shooters, but that was 10 years ago. Even 5 years ago, TWD was still a hot property. But now, no one cares.

People care about a satisfying conclusion to Clementine’s story but that’s due to the character, not the zombie genre

Payday 2 was only good in the early days. By the time they added the first DLC heist it was already rolling downhill and catching speed. Anyone who is awaiting Payday 3 is a cuck

>piece of shit game spent 3 or 4 years in development
>gets shut down in less than a fourth of the dev time

oh lawdy lawd

This. I played the shit out of the game when it first came out. Took a break, came back after updates and it just lots it's charm.

>People paid $100

AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH

The Payday IP is basically the only thing Starbreeze has that's worth anything, someone's going to snatch it up and make that Payday 3 happen.

You see, I love PayDay 2 and Payday The heist, but why is it that Overkill can't seem to make a good game outside of that IP?

Payday 1 and 2 are bad games but you accept their limitations because you like the ideas, theme, music, characters, etc

WW2 Raid was Payday 2 but in WW2 but it flopped for a reason

It was honestly dead the day they started to try milk a dead cow.

Nah I just like stealth games and co-op shooters.
I like PayDay more than Left 4 Dead, and I loved Left 4 Dead back when I played it.

>GTFO is gonna flop too isn't it
Highly likely. Game looks as boring as the Walking Dead was.

Yes I like a lot of the ideas but it's super jank man

Nothing wrong wtih a janky game if it's fun to play

Didn't buy it because the gameplay looked like the same hold E until a little circle fills up on the UI to complete an objective garbage their other games were. Seriously don't know how the fuck people find that engaging.

Typical western game design, Payday 1 had this problem - I thought 2 would fix it, but not really.

Isn't starbreeze is bankrupt now? How the hell overkill is still going?

This game came out?
What was it even like?

Feels great hating multiplayer.

So what happens to the people who spent the 100 dollar season passes? Even though they revoked the license are they allowed to finish the season passes and then stop developing it or are they completely ditching the game after being revoked?

Did they really think "hillbillies stole our waterfilter, go get it back" was an interesting/compelling backdrop for a game like this?

>3 or 4 years in development
Holy shit, are you kidding me? This shit looks like it was slapped together in one. This shit get rebooted and retooled into a soulless cashgrab midway through or something?

They are selling off assets, they just got back 12 million dollars from selling back the system shock 3 licesense

Isn't that the plot of Fallout 1 essentially?

>Implying simple beginners quest are part of the story

I'm not defending this game but literally every game at the beginning has some bullshit quest/mission

>the beginning
I watched around 7 hours of this shit for background noise and to see if it was worth giving a shot, and they were still feuding over the damn water purifier by the time I got bored of it.

If there's a shocking swerve in game content it comes way too late for anyone to care.
