>anything by doublefine
>good

>Went in expecting Ocarina of Time with a heavy metal skin
>Got baby Starcraft

Tried playing this not too long ago after noticing I owned it for some reason. Probably a bundle. I didn't last long. Maybe because I don't like cringy satan music, but it gave me a greater appreciation of how far games have come in the last ten years. Clunky, offensively simplistic and utterly banal in every sense.

i still enjoyed my time exploring the world and doing anything but the main quest but yeah, it was pretty mediocre all around

Honestly I don’t understand how they fucked up this badly. Jables was the only saving grace

I also liked Tim Curry as the main villain.

That's everyone on Yea Forums

After the first act? The moment the game turn into an rts it turn into shit.

Loved the first world.
Then they decided to suddenly make the game suck.

Tim Schafer cant direct big projects to save his life, Brutal Legend was the first big game they ever did and he got overambitous and overbudget pretty quickly

thats the final boss of the first act, i guess the quality nosedive started there really

Doublefine have never made a good game

>in all of it's videos they sucessfully hide the fact that game is actually an RTS
Never saw such a sleek jewery.

>unnecessary loot system in 2nd game
>unnecessary Dark Souls gameplay in 3rd game
Why do they do this?

why would they add in a shallow rts game mode and then use it as the final boss of the game?
it's only saving grace is that it's so piss-easy that you don't even need to put any effort into it, just spam units and powers to win.

Psychonauts

a trite platformer with a distinctive artstyle

Psychonauts is trash

Iron Brigade was a fun indie. Also kind of enjoying HeadLander right now

sequel when? an actually good third-person RTS when?

That explains a lot, the ending felt absurdly rushed

Can this meme end already?

I have this downloaded. Maybe I'll play it this weekend.

Stacking.

They aren't wrong, the platforming is super basic and the camera is kind of crap.
No ones remembers Psychonauts for the gameplay.
Also Meat Circus.

One of the only times that the soundtrack made a game bearable. I don't know what the fuck they were thinking when they added RTS elements

It was okay

Does everyone bitch because they were surprised by the RTS mechanics or are they actively bad?

It's great up until the shoehorned RTS bullshit.

That was all EA. They wanted to hide that it was an RTS, Schafer didn't. I didn't mind the idea but it really should've been scaled down to being a mob strategy action game like in the opening sequence where you free the headbangers.

Both.
Marketing made it look like it was a beat em up and it's an RTS designed for consoles so micro and strategy are minimal.

Metro Exodus is great on the first map, then is absolute shit on the next 2 maps and is absolutely KINO on the last one

>escaping the collapsing Pleasure Tower while Through The Fire and Flames is playing
>getting raced down by enemy forces when trying to steal materials while Thieves is playing
>final RTS battle is set to Superbeast, while the final boss battle is set to Painkiller
this game had some kino moments despite all the bullshit
