One of Sakurai's rules when choosing a character (an actual rule, not just arbitrary rosterfag shit) is being able to first envision their moveset in his head, because Waluigi doesn't have his own game yet to give him an identity, it is understandable that Sakurai is not promoting him from lanky tennis man.

I had my own idea for what kind of direction they could take with Waluigi. In a nutshell, make him an attention whore. So you have:

Wario
>greedy
>brute
>jumps head first into danger without thinking too much about it
>reeks of confidence and willpower
>often exploits his friends for personal gain
>ultimate goal is to be as rich as possible

Waluigi
>attention starved loner (you can have a meta joke about not even Nintendo giving him attention)
>wimpy, though very agile (superb athlete and dancer)
>likes to plan ahead (self proclaimed brilliant evil schemes like the twirly mustache he is) and often overthinks
>uses Wario as his role model to remain confident
>has no friends because nobody likes him (jealous of Luigi because of this, both lived in the shadows but Luigi ascended while he didn't)
>ultimate goal is to become famous so people will love him

And them you have it, Wario and Waluigi, fame and fortune. His games could range from rhythm games to real time strategy and point and click adventures. This would be a new direction currently not covered by any major Mario character.

Anyone ever thought up a good moveset for waluigi? I've thought of a few things:

Neutral B: Throws a rose projectile which does low damage and knockback but gives the enemy the flower rebuff (so far I think Jigglypuffs rest is the only move to do this)

Side B: Waluigi strikes a quick pose and pirouettes, spinning forward a decent distance then spinning backward to his starting point doing multi hit damage a long the way

Down B: drops a small bob-omb in front of him which walks back and forth slowly patrolling a small area but lasts a long time. Waluigi can have two out at once

Up B: I have no fucking idea

Floods the stage

Except very little of Olimar is even characterized. He just has some little whistle VA clips. Until Olimar himself is characterized better, there’s no reason to separate out Alph for some minor distinctions. Daisy and Peach, Samus and Dark Samus, and especially Simon and Richter benefit way more from being separated, as they wouldn’t even be themselves as just an alt of the original.

I at least wish they’d give Olimar and Alph their separate voice clips
