Is it even possible to have 100,000 enimies on screen at once? Sure it’s a fucking insane goal to have but even if Croteam goes to 50,000 on screen it’ll still be impressive

It's also been 14 years since KH2 and the series is in the hands of a developer known for throwing an obscene amount of enemies at you.

in KH2 you can only attack about 10-20, the rest are literally just 2D. I think the idea in this is that you can attack literally anything.

There's only so many enemies you can physically have around the player at once, so yeah, 100,000 is easy as fuck with a dozen or so LODS.

Days Gone seems to have huge crowds of enemies, but that also looks like a generic open world game soooooo

coop campaign with high player count has always been a staple of serious sam series, don't see it changing here

Demo really didn't look that good, but I have faith in Croteam. Even if SS4 doesn't deliver, they'll make up for it in another way.
I wish they made another DLC for the talos principle, I just want more inspiration for my own worlds.

The serious engine is extremely flexible, you can get 4 instances of serious sam 2 hd to run on a damn phone at 60fps, it's crazy how well it adapts.
FFS the talos principle is on mobile, and it's by far the best looking game I ever played.

Honestly Talos is hands down my favorite game of all time, I became such a sucker for that atmosphere of abandoned traces of civilization.
The only title I could find like it is the witness which I also really loved.

Don't know how but I believe in croatian technowizardry. The last thing that we heard from this game is tgat they confirmed on the Steam forums that the engine can reach 50k enemies so far. My guess is that they will use a combination of LOD escalation techniques and NPC AI group division, a "squad" that acts as one entity and each NPC is a section of its health bar, to put it simple.
Serious Sam NPCs barely consunes any resources anyway, they have some of the simpliest AI out there, on par with doom monsters.
