KANTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Good, growing up with Gen 4 is the best

I wish Sugimori still used that watercolor style in his drawings. I miss it.

Gotta say, the JP box doesn't waste any time or effort saying needless shit.

>Trade captured pokes with a link cable!
>Introducing a "collect lots of friends" Role-playing game!
>Welcome to the world of POCKET MONSTERS (pokemon)!
>You and your friends can fight and trade pokemon you've caught in pokeballs !
>There's 150 different types of pokemon!
>encounter all the monsters and aim to complete the Pokedex!

Our boxes were always very well-written in comparison.

I was 18 when Gen 4 premiered.

Why am I here?

よううううう*

>commercial rental prohibited
why?

Level 1 N5 student
Level 100 2ch reading weeb

:O

Video game rental was banned in the 80s to stop pirates from renting games and copying them.

Japan is overrated.

Currently living in Japan as US contractor

日本日本ってうるせい
ところで、ソードとシールドはどう思うの?

It's against the law in Japan. They get around it by many stores having very generous trade in values, essentially allowing you to rent older games indefinitely, since it'll be worth maybe ¥500-¥1000 less when you bring it back.

Basically think Gamestop but not evil.

Who cares, I was a kid in America when it came out and it was fucking great

Pokemon Gen1 took over a year from the release to become actually popular in Japan
so I guess it wasn't really different from the US

>growing up with Gen 4 is the best
Fucking Disgusting

Zoomers, everybody

Accurate.

Spoken like a dumb American, no wonder.

I have no idea what your trying to say faggot

I feel sorry for you, not experiencing the peak of Pokemon during your childhood

The peak of Pokemon was the explosion of pokemania in '98/'99
To deny that is pure zoomery

Initial peak, maybe, but there was a massive revival just a few years ago thanks to Go. It was arguably bigger during that period because nearly everyone who was into it as a kid at least downloaded the app, which is a FUCKTON more than just the kids from '98/'99.

Reminder that Europe got Gen 1 almost 4 years after it's Japanese release
