I would pay upwards of $100 for a new Bustin' Out style Sims game. Not that Urbz shit though

...at least it was until Malcom fucked everything up

urbz was cool

no that's creed

But very different from Bustin' Out. I'd rather have more Bustin' Out. Bustin' Out

Co-op was kino

Have you played The Sims Life Stories?

all the sims spin off games were fucking great

GBA version was a fun adventure game.
Console version was a watered down Sims.

Bustin' Out is the only Sims I've played. I take it it's different to regular Sims, could anyone explain to me in what ways? Interested to know.

Oh man I haven't thought about Bustin' Out in so long, I miss it

The sims PC games are more fleshed out dollhouse games, you have more control over building your house with multiple storeys. Bustin Out and other console games swapped that out for a more "scripted" game where you go from house-to-house achieving goals and unlocking interactions and objects. it's more about building a single character than building a household like the PC games

I want to play Sims 4 but don't want to install Origin. What do?

>ever considering buying a sims game

Thanks lad. I have Bustin' Out right here on Gamecube, but it crashed the last time I played so I'm not sure if it's worth bothering. Music posted above me makes me want to though.

Bustin' Out had more of progression than just it being a sandbox for people to play around in the regular Sims games.

Your goal in Bustin' Out was to buy back everyone's possessions and eventually become the owner of the mansion to "win" the game.

Regular Sims you pick your own goal to work towards and just become the strongest/smartest/richest person you can become and build fancy homes, or just kill all your sims. Like I said, sandbox.

Could always emulate it in Dolphin if your PC is strong enough.

>here's your latest sims expansion bro

Whats up with the low pixels?

My sister got 100 romantic relationship level with every Sim in the game except the mom, maxed out all her stats and beat every single career. I couldn't even get past the part where your goal was to throw a party because nobody would come.

>not being a woman and going to mimi's
>not lezzing out with every female in the game and maintaining a dyke harem

DAMAGED

I'm using the ps2 version on pcsx2. a tiny bit of slowdown but it was like that on original hardware anyway. plus being able to unlock the speed and train skills at 200% is incredibly useful in a game with no 3x speed button

>all these people regarding bustin out so fondly
Did I do something wrong?
My sim was always either at work or keeping up those stats that drop at mach speed.
I had no time to work on skills or even get those challenges done.

Move into your mums house and you don't have to go to work.

So I just get free money or what?

This is lame but also worth doing for one playthrough, especially if you're struggling. When the game starts, don't follow the goals in your mom's house. Max out all your stats instead. Until you complete the first goals, your sleep stat doesn't go down, you have no job to worry about, and your mom consistently cooks you excellent quality food at the right time. Sell all her shit to buy things that improve the correct stats and just 10/10 all of them.

I would pay that as well for a new game like the DS Sims 2 where you ran a hotel in the desert. I fucking loved that game.

I actually just replayed that game like a year ago when I found my old blue brick DS and it was still just as fun as I remembered. Had a fucking blast cutting up aliens to sell their body parts and literally printing money

If you play the game as normal for a promotion or two and save a tiny bit of money to pay for skill objects and cover food/maid costs, you can move into your mum's, buy a treadmill, a mirror, etc. and then spend all your free time getting all your skills to 10. Then you can leave mum's house, carry on getting promotions using all of you free time to maintain the friendships you'll need.

Alright then. Thanks user.
Looks like it's time to bust out this game again after fifty million years.

>tfw this is what you would probably do if the Internet and vidya didn't exist
People in olden days had it easy, they could only spend their freetime developing themselves.

What other Sims game is most like Bustin' Out?

Attached: 1550185301602.jpg (593x593, 125K)

The Sims Bustin'Out is my favorite Sims game and one of my favorites of the generation. It has more soul than any other besides the original.
>Programming a robot to fry Malcom
>Getting Malcom naked and calling the police
>Pull my finger
>Burp in face
>Exorcising ghosts
>Beating up gym rats
>Electrocuting yourself for more sleep stat
>Nudist colony
>Going from house to house
>Random messages from other characters in english
>Humor

I still come back to it after all these years, it's so comfy.

Most of the Sims console games follow the same formula Bustin' Out does. There's also The Sims: Life Stories games for PC which are lightweight versions of The Sims 2 that have stories to play through.
I've never played the original console Sims, The Urbz or Life Stories though so I couldn't say if they're any good or not.

this is the best sims car ever, and thats a fact

So bustin out is the best sims? Any sims games on ds/3ds or even ps3 that are worth playing?

>there will never be a game that's a mix of The Sims and Rimworld

i just want to die

framerate is terrible on PS2

it runs better on pcsx2 than it does on dolphin for me, but that's not much. it still runs kinda crappy but it's the sims so I can tolerate it

>Haunted castle is actually haunted
>Military instillation can have motion censors, cameras and guard robots
>Scientific research lab that lets you create mutant flesh eating plants.

formerly srucks

How come the sims console games (until 3) were so good on their own?
Sims 2 had a really nice control scheme and actually choosing what you want to cook was pretty cool but somehow never used again. And don't even get me started on playing splitscreen story mode, kino af

they had a comfy formula and just kept at it
