FC6 is a western. You will have to assamble your own outlaw gang to fight a rival gang after they kill your original gang at the start of the game. You will have up to 3 people with you on missions, and you will have a hideout you can upgrade and interact, play games with all othe other members. Coop up to 3 people. Late 2020 release, ubi is banking on this game bigtime, it will be one of the first AAA games for next gen (but will release on XB1/PS4/PC too). The AI is getting hugely revamped compared to previous FC games, and there will be more emphasis on immersive elements. Ubi wanted Techland to make a AAA CoJ but they chose to work on Dying Light for WB instead. FC6 has been in development for a while now, and it's shaping up nicely. The story was originally about clashing against Pinkertons, but was changed a few months ago due to RDR 2 being simply too similiar. It still is, which is in a way intentional. The main difference is the player agency, there will be more freedom than ever. You will be able to plan your own heists in any town/settlement you visit by retrieving and brining the map/blueprint back of it to your camp, for example.
Here we go again
>FC6 is a western
if I get my own plot of land to nurture i'm okay with this. gun selection probably will suck again, at least there won't be holo scopes on pistols.
Also worth noting that Dunia got a massive upgrade. The main reason for that the AI and trains. All AI (including trains, carriages, etc) will have its proper schedule and you will be able to rob them all. The human AI has been revamped and they are a lot less jittery.
>there will be more freedom than ever. You will be able to plan your own heists in any town/settlement you visit by retrieving and brining the map/blueprint back of it to your camp, for example.
I read it as " if you want some leniency you gotta grind more", ubisoft designers suck.
>far cry in current year
literally who the fuck cares
apparently millions of people still do according to FC5 sales
you know what i think the half life universe would be a good setting for a far cry game
are the characters going to be autistic, quirky again?
Who cares? Where the fuck's my dinosaur game?
That sounds quite fun. Some kind of vengeance arc. and maybe some spicy tranny cowboy dickdick?
your bullshit story doesnt even have proper grammer. you're a underage third world larper. fuck off niggerator
tranny num nums?
actually it would just be exactly like homefront 2 and that sucked ass
whats the wild west equivalent of radio towers
Pony express post offices. Or telegram stations
Telegram stations?
>FC6 is a western
60€ saved right there
Numbered Far Cries are always set in the present though, maybe the spin-off
>Start playing FC5
>Die all the time because I can't see the enemies and they're really fucking accurate
It's like I'm playing FC1 again, any mutants though?
Sneak more, the bow is OP as fuck.
>late 2020
are they really gonna turn this franchise to another annual release like ac?
>Far Cry6 is a western
Would unironically be interested in a Far Cry game the first time since FC3.
Especially if they have beautiful big tiddy cowgirls that get hanged by the neck
Saloons. Capture them and the bartender becomes or is replaced by one of your gang and he collects info about the immediate area.
FC6 being a western doesn't sound too far fetched. The modern FC gameplay loop fits, they already have decent animations rigged up for "cowboy" weapons in FC5 / New Dawn, and Ubi generally does try to change up the settings completely with every game.
post offices, but you gotta break in
>trying to get the Red Dead audience when RDR2 is so fresh
Only thing Ubi is banking on is bankruptcy.
When I'm doing outposts and all that, that's my MO and it's all good
But just walking around, I might get shot from the bushes and die in seconds
It's even worse when the enemy who's attacking me has the armor on and won't go down after getting shot in the head so many times
It'll probably release in Winter 2020, which gives them 2 years since RDR2 launched. It'll be Far Cry vs RD:Online (because Rockstar clearly doesn't care about single player DLC content any more)
In 2020 RDR2 wouldn't that fresh. Unironically would buy a wild west far cry immediately. I wouldn't stop playing Red Dead but I'd definitely check FC6 out.
they dont seem to care about MP content either
go ruin the rdr2 thread faggot oh wait you already did
All the missions in former FC's can be solved by one-shotting with a bow.
Just give the characters an older skin, a revolver aand you're set for a new adventure.
I guess FC's are too grindy for me to enjoy. I get distracted by the sheer amount of (very easy) stuff to do. It's OK to watch though, but I don't care for it either way
>playing Far Cry past 2
Y I K E S.
I don't ruin threads, I generally have interesting discussions with the thread people.
if you dont want to be anonymous then why are you here
Big if true.
All i want is a bigass revolver and a long double barrel shotgun.
I can only wish to be able to select, customize then bond with my horse fuck her right in the horsepussy
Why can't Ubisoft just burn to the ground
Ubisoft makes okay games though. I'd love someone to make an open world Call of Juarez even though I think my heart will belong to RDR and I prefer third person with optional first person for a game like this.
it gets even more annoying when enemies become stronger, I dropped the game after clearing one zone, it's too RNG
If its a Western then its also almost certain that the spinoff game will be about Feather Indians, and you'll definitely be using a bow a lot as one.
Getting real sick and tired of these ridiculous bows. At least make it so that you have to score a head or heart shot if you want to kill anything silently. Tagging someone in the foot should not make them keel over instantly without so much as a peep.
Assuming you're not full of shit, you should have used a tripcode. Also, I don't buy that FC6 is releasing two years after FC5. There was a four year delay between FC4 and FC5. They used the intervening years for Primal, the spinoff.
However, I'm not discounting you. Tell us some juicy behind the scenes details about Far Cry 5 and New Dawn's development. How did Ubisoft feel about the controversy over FC5's ending? Did New Dawn backpedal on anything in response?
Which studio is developing FC6? Who is directing it?
>first-person western FC
Fucking finally, Outlaws was 20+ years ago.
>whats the wild west equivalent of radio towers
Far Cry hasn't had radio towers for years.
>You will have a hideout you can upgrade
Stopped right there, this is easily the WORST part of New Dawn, I just want to go around and have fun, not grind resources and fucking blueprints to build shit up, this isn't supposed to be Sims.
Primal did it first.
Please stop. I feel sick
This isn’t far cry new dawn?
How fast are they pumping these fucking games out now? Is new dawn just a dlc for the one that came out a year ago?
I don't buy the crossgen thing. Current base model console CPUs are dogshit and have been hampering the AI in the Far Cry series for years. If Ubisoft were aiming for a true next gen Far Cry game, I don't see why they'd do this.
It'll just be Shadow of Mordor all over again then, with the AI stuff removed for the last gen systems. Ubi have put AC on PSP and Vita in the past so it's not like they're unused to making ports for worse hardware.
Why didn't you play the Call of Juarez series sans The Cartel ?
i do
New Dawn is a half-priced standalone expansion for 5
Maybe I can hang you from a tree :) that would be a good pvp move
Far Cry 4 - 2014.
Far Cry Primal - 2016.
Far Cry 5 - 2018
Far Cry New Dawn - 2019.
That's two mainline releases, one prehistoric spinoff, and one standalone expansion pack. It's really not a lot of games by traditional standards. Nobody minded when Ubi released Far Cry, Far Cry Instincts, Far Cry Instincts Evolution, and Far Cry 2 between 2004 and 2008. Since 2014, Bethesda have released three Wolfenstein games, with a new one coming this year.
It's honestly weird how much crap Ubisoft cop for releasing a polished Far Cry game ever two years or so. Far Cry 5 was in development for four years. Yet people are convinced it was somehow just tossed together from spare parts or something.
They're the least bad of the major AAA publishers. Although if they continue working with Epic Store and Tencent they'll have spent what little goodwill they built up over the last decade and go straight past EA and Actiblizz.
Technically it's a 2/3 priced standalone expansion. A teeth-grating number of youtubers bafflingly referred to it as "full priced" for some inexplicable reason.
If you can view your player model from third person I'd be okay with my cowgirl being strung up. That's one of the reasons I'm playing as a girl in Red Dead Online, in case they add players being able hang other players I can be a submissive in case I can't hang anyone else.
The gameplay mechanics didn't appeal to me (I hate QTEs). I have it in my Steam library from a bundle (I think) so I might give it a try some time and see if it's all that bad though.
They're fundamentally alright games but I wouldn't call them revolutionary or expect too much. Bound in Blood is the best one imho, the first one feels almost like a late 6th gen game (not necessarily a bad thing)
>t. played every game in the series except The Cartel
Thanks for the recommendation, I might've dismissed them too soon just based on the entirely linear and QTEs stuff.
>Ubi wanted Techland to make a AAA CoJ but they chose to work on Dying Light for WB instead.
Can you provide any more details about this?
It's pretty much certainly fake but I am interested in discussing the potential of a Wild West Far Cry.
Who's gonna call Gamestop and ask them if they got Far Cry six?
>You will have up to 3 people with you on missions, and you will have a hideout you can upgrade and interact, play games with all othe other members. Coop up to 3 people.
This sounds like a fucking terrible idea. Co-op is shit for difficulty balancing. The Far Cry series has gone really weird difficulty-wise as they've become more co-op oriented. This kind of co-op tends to compromise narrative and exploration, too.
>FC6 is a western
meh, not interested unless the story and characters are super engaging. Just go back to third world shitholes, make one in south america (something like Far Cry Venezuela) or go full wacky, I loved the shangri-la segments in 4.
I want this to be true just because I want a western game with actually good gameplay
>chasing after rockstar
yawn. what a bunch of unoriginal losers.
Rockstar did not invent westerns. Ubisoft were the original publisher for the CoJ games. It makes sense they'd be interested in a CoJ-style Far Cry game.
As a wild west fan I'd love to see more western games.
>RDR2 but as an actual game, rather than an absurdly linear horseriding-sim with sluggish shootouts
Ubichad has been cucking Yea Forums for more than a decade now. Can't wait to see them do it once again.
Rockstar's mission design is hilarously shit. I can't believe Rockstar as a company put in such a shoddy effort decade after decade and the critical world laps it up. Their fans also lap it up. It's this self-perpetuating hype machine. I mean, they're not BAD games overall. The production values are really good. But the missions are freaking terrible. Why make a videogame if you're going to punish the player for using their brain?
If it's releasing in late 2020, when are they going to reveal it?
Seems like their insane technical foundation, sales, and critical reception keep the ideas guys feeling like they already got the formula right decades ago (nevermind that the reality is that their breakthrough was also partly due to the ideas guys that left DMA Design) and so they don't need to change it. There are very few competitors at their level of budget so regardless of how many people find their games lacking in fun or freedom, I doubt they care, all they do is drive onwards and then relax as the sales pour in. Their consumerbase has expectations and they are on auto-pilot to provide that.
LMAO ubisoft shills detected. Fans asked for a COJ game for a long time but after rdr 2 they "suddenly" are doing western? kill yourselves.
Ubi and Techland parted ways several years ago. The last CoJ game they made together was Gunslinger.
Btw is there an anti-SJW mod for FarCry?
I'd love to play the two latest games but the representation of women is super unrealistic and they are everywhere. Has someone fixed this?
I dunno why AAA games ruin themselves like this. I noticed at the start when you select a gender they even call it "pick body type".
Bullshit, 2020 is too early and late 2020 will see the release of AC and not Far Cry.
why dis guy say dis ting?
That game and bound by blood were kino dude
Nobody cares fuck off there just video games use that effort on shit that matters. Video are not serious business back to r e d d i t
twitch just leave. Be grateful i'm not the owner your cunt ass would be forever banned as well as anybody posting shit like this.
Fuck off the game is gonna be trash because the series sucks ass. Please just kill yourself if you still enjoy these recycled ass games.
How would you fix it? Replace them with unvoiced men? Does them leaving out the word gender really bother you?
I hate political shit in my games too but I honestly haven't seen an issue with the way the FC series does there. It certainly never felt heavy handed from what I can remember
