I remember that they showed it in June of 2018.
When will they announce something new for Shin Megami Tensei V?

There was an interview on December 28, 2018.
>“Shin Megami Tensei V” is currently in development. Since the game’s announcement, I’m very sorry to have made you anxious without any further reports. However, please be assured that development is definitely progressing steadily.
>“V” will represent the first home console release since 14 years with the launch of “Shin Megemi Tensei III: Nocturne Maniax.” We have implemented the industry-leading Unreal Engine 4 (UE4), and we’re developing with a fighting spirit.
>UE4 lives up to the needs of the creators, giving us the freedom and unparalleled efficiency to do what we want to. Coupled with the thorough attention to detail that defines Atlus’ creative process, I would like to have more time to finish it, and the development team is currently working its hardest.
>Thanks to that, we have gone through the process of checking the performance of the game’s scenes many times, which has continued amazing the development team, so we have a real feeling of excitement on a daily basis.
>Finally, 2019 is likely to be a year where we ask “various things” to everyone. To be honest, I am full of expectation and nervousness, but I hope the staff’s efforts so far will be greatly fruitful. I would be happy if you could wait for a follow-up report for just a little while longer.
never ever*
*TGS
Maybe Nintendo e3. Some gameplay trailer. On another interview they said that almost all demons and characters are implemented and running, also they were hard at work on combat
Why can’t they release this on PS4 too? And port P5 to the Switch?
>unreal engine 4
There goes any hope of it looking and running well.
Because Yamai loves Switch.
Because Hashino loves PS4.
There really is no other reason.
Dunno, I liked how the trailer looked.
The Sega/Atlus presentation at TGS this year in all likelihood.
I hope it is still first person. Nocturne SUCKED
Sega FES or TGS.
What did u say laddie?
They will soon since their sales are shit and they're not doing cheapo 2D games anymore. Full Body flopped hard, multiplat is the natural course for Atlus from now on.
>full body flopped
What does this have to do with switch?
There's no indication that that's what the game will actually look like, full development didn't even start until last year.
SMT IV sold like 600k though, and that was in the 3DS
The fact that they'll have to maximize profits of their games from now on and that means releasing on multiple platfofms. SMT isn't a franchise that sells millions, yet the costs eill be much higher now that they're on Switch and not 3DS.
>#FE still Wii U exclusive.
inb4 "B-but nobody bought that one anyway!"
>P4G still Vita exclusive.
Not those fags, but isn't TMS a Nintendo IP?
TMS is Nintendo crossover, they can't do anything with it without their approval.
As for P4G, it's not a looker even for Vita standards and it actually sold very well for an enhanced port (look at Gamstat data). We'll definitely get a P3 remake before they touch P4G.
It doesn't even look that good. Look at flower boy's arm when he's reaching out.
And by "entering full development" they meant that they have finished all planning, so they have finalized the overall design of the game, with all characters, demons and the plot being approved.
IV and IV:A were third-person.
>Unreal Engine 4
Yikes.
Atlus always does their big announcements on their own streams so you just gotta wait for that
It's going to be bargain basement production values. Hopefully it won't be utter shit though.
3DS games were also dirt cheap to make
Outside a few walking and combat animations that game was a VN
This. Guess that’s what happens when you spend over a decade on Nintendo consoles
There's surely been a few good games that use UE4
UE4 is an amazing engine, the concern is that it's going to need to run on Switch.
I think it'll be fine. It'll be more styalised which will allow them to cut some corners
Honestly all SMT games on Nintendo side looks like shit so I am fine with that as long as I get to fucking play it.
IV and IVF's 3D was tacked on as fuck and looks like dogshit yet I still enjoyed those 2 games, as long as they don't water it down too much like they do to the mainline pokemon games I will be fine.
also F>IV
>Unreal Engine 4
600p docked and 360p handheld incoming
There's literally nothing wrong with that engine for the kind of game they want to make.
It's a lot better than the alternative of them enginedevving for a half a decade before finally taking about 5 years creating a game like they did with Persona 5.
It's all on Atlus to take full advantage of the engine to create a good RPG.
>UE4 is an amazing engine
UE4 is just average, provided the average is pretty high nowadays.
Their support for Switch is utter shit, though.
UE4 in general seems to have a hard time on all the consoles, even Dragon Quest runs at a dynamic 900p on PS4 Pro
Does Kaneko still work at Atlus, what does he do now?
It scales really badly and thus doesn't work well on a low-end hardware even if the game isn't graphically intensive. UE2.5 and UE3 were much better in that regard.
He's still there, although he's in a fairly hands-off senior position now. He returned to illustrating fairly recently actually, doing some art for some Japanese novels and some guest designs in The Lost Child, an SMT by the Okami and El Shaddai artist.
snoyggers in full force in this thread. No one gives a shit about p5
Last SMT-related thing I heard him doing was him coming up with the original concept of SMTIV but that was a long time ago.
SMT clone, sorry.
i have a feeling it will be spring 2020
definitely not this year with pokemon and animal crossing towards the end of the year
if it isnt discussed within a year, ill start thinking of it as vaporware
