First Rayman is far superior. I was really disappointed when I played Rayman 2 for the first time and realized they ditched the 2D and the beautiful artwork and switched it to ugly 3D.

I feel like Rayman 2 is overrated for the series, perhaps due to it being on every major platform for a solid decade. Rayman 2 is good, very good, but I actually slightly prefer both 1 and 3.
Maybe it's because I started with rayman 1, only to find 2 really jarring but by the time I played 3 I was used to the change of tone? I'm not sure, but I've never liked 2 as much as the rest of the trilogy

One time I had a dream when I was a kid that there was another 2D Rayman game on the PS1, and I need to remind myself it doesn't exist. Not that it was amazing, but it was basically a level pack for the first game that could be real but also easily forgotten.

I never liked globox in any of the games. I should probably replay the trilogy as it's been a long, long time since I last played them all. But right now I'd rank them as 1 > 3 > 2

Personaly, I prefer the PS1 version the best. The other ones, from what I've heard, kinda fuck up the ambience for some of the levels.

The demos are really bad don't consider them for anything. Just buy Origins (on anything but 3DS) for cheap or pirate it if you have to, then get Legends if you enjoyed it.
Origins is incredible, but Legends is fun while not as challenging and depending on the version has a lot of down time with touch-screen Murphy sections.
Both are surprisingly great games to play with friends too, honestly.

Legends only has about half the origins levels and not all of the tricky treasures (easily the best levels) but those have been castrated to be easier.
So it's still a different enough game

The Teensie in the original aspect is placed along the edge of the screen like it's supposed to, widescreen shows more of the scenery.
It is not perfect however, there's lot's of culling in the left and right corners of the screen, for performance reasons since you couldn't see that originally
