For example, there's a theory that the reason why superhero movies started exponentially increasing after 9/11 is because people wanted to watch movies about heroes who make it a mission to do good during the troubled times.

Where do you guys get this narrative that minorities go to college for free just for being minorities? Minority scholarships do exist, but you still have to apply for them and prove you're more deserving of the scholarship than the others applying for it. And even then those scholarships rarely give people full rides. Most of those scholarships are intended for poor minority kids whose parents can't afford to send them to school. Poor white kids can also apply and receive scholarships for students from low-income families, they just don't have White™ in the name.
