We are ONE (1) (UNO) day away from the major update that fixes Artifact forever

Pre-ordered it and bought a complete card collection, regret nothing.

Problem?

Artifact brings the critically-acclaimed worldbuilding and innovative gameplay that made Valve a legendary company to a genre never seen before, and it is my personal Game of the Year 2018.

Artifact's worst mistake is that it's incredibly boring to watch, maybe playing it can be engaging in some way, but being an spectator is super lame and gets boring already watching a single match.

Making it free wouldn't make it worth playing. There's a hundred free card games that fail to gather very much of an audience, but it won't help Artifact because the game itself has several flaws.

First, while normal card drawing games have some RNG aspect to what you get, Artifact takes it to the next level by creating two simultaneous decks you draw from (Spells and Items), one of which is "limited" to showing you one card at a time. If Valve wants to fix that, simply make items an extra card you draw every turn and have the gold cost pay as you play it, not to draw it.

On the same line, creep placement is also heavily RNG based, which can leave you creep starved or flooded in a lane where they'll do no good. Why wasn't it made similar to dota, with a creep spawning in every lane at the start of a turn? Furthermore, why do heroes attack random targets (I can understand creeps, but I still thing it's bad gameplay)? There's nothing more infuriating than watching three heroes gang up on an invulnerable omniknight when the tower behind him has 2 health left. It's even more infuriating that it could've just as easily been that he was ignored, but a diceroll decided otherwise.

Beyond that, the gameplay itself is a slog. You're essentially playing three games at once, with all the speed that entails, and with turns being a one action back and forth, there's a lot of lag time between the players reacting to each others' actions, instead of several actions being preformed by a player in short succession. This makes matches probably drag on almost 50% longer than they should, which kills a lot of peoples' interest in playing. That's pretty much a fundamental flaw though, one built into the core of the game, and there's probably nothing that can be done about it without some sort of restructuring.

I'll forgive the lack of options in card choices since it literally just came out and doesn't have three decades behind it like MTG.

The one thing I will say in its favor is the three lane system, despite being three games at once, is actually helping to cut down on the RNG. If one lane is going unfavorable for some reason beyond the choices you've made, you still have two other lanes that should balance it out. In theory at least, but since there's so much RNG everywhere else, this doesn't really help.

Valve is such a sack of shit these days. Truly a tragedy. Fuck valve and fuck that fat fuck gabe.

This will be the biggest comeback since No Man's Sky, bros
