How? I didn't even finish my second playthrough. The gameplay is repetitive as fuck, you already have one or two top tier planes unlocked by that time and also know all the gimmicks and events in the stages. There's no motivation to continue unless you're severely autistic.

It's a score chaser. Either you like it or you don't. My favorite types of games are Star Fox and Time Crisis.

It's good, but almost every mission has some sort of annoying quirk. Really put a dampener on it for me.

It's some of the most unrelenting fun I've had with a game in a long, long while. Every piece of the game (the environment, the music, the kino missions) all work in service of that common end — making the game fun. What a great design philosophy.

Is TLS good? I've tried out both EML and PLSL already, both are fairly decent but I prefer PLSL a tad more as the ammo count is far more generous. Never tried TLS though. Should I buy it?

It's story is a 80s /m/ anime with jets. You cant go wrong with that.

Its good and has given me an itch to keep playing and improving playing on higher difficulties where some victory conditions are tighter that not many games these days have gotten out of me.
Also made me want to go back and play through the older games because they're pretty much all at least decent games. The black sheep Assault Horizon isn't even that bad on its own merits but is brought down by the Ace Combat label. Ace Combat games have just shown me what a good control scheme and flight model for a jet fighter game can feel like and few other games can meet its standard when they default to starfox controls in a non starfox environment.
The rush you get from Ace Combat games is radio chatter sucking your cock after you blow shit up because you know you had to fully control your plane while doing so and it actually feels like you earned it.

Most of the autism you'll see is threads on Yea Forums where people are sperging over an arcade jet game not being a true flight sim and the lack of console war material. The general on vg is always up and steady with people having fun actually discussing the games if you want to take a peek.

The TLS is shit unfortunately

It's great. Plays great. Looks great. Soundtrack is good. Story is alright. It doesn't have the same highs as Zero but it's a welcomed addition to the series.
Hope they have plans for another one.
