it took me like a week to program a small open world with objects and people to interact with and i only know the basics C# and unity.

Had my headset and controllers for 3 days. Been having a blast. Spent about 4 hours last night trying to get a decent ways through "Compound", then took a break and learned about some guns in H3VR.

WHEN IS THIS OUT FOR FUCK SAKE, I JUST WANT TO BE THE MOTHERFUCKING FIST OF THE NORTH STAR.

There's always VorpX

Attached: 1179896573200.jpg (300x326, 24K)

It doesnt even look that good, just paste a load of greenery everywhere.

dont have any. this was months ago and was never gonna make anything out of it. just wanted to experiment with VR at the time.
it all used premade assets anyways so its not like it was unique or anything.

Im picking up a rift with touch controls later
Im gonna have to wait on the third roomscale sensor to ship once i order it soon. How well can i get by on just a 2 sensor setup? I have lirated tilt brush and h3vr so far. Any recs that are roomscale light?

Attached: sproutan.gif (400x400, 39K)

can't you just install it over the Skyrim VR files?

SInce vive is making new controllers will they work with the older vive?

Vive only has two sensors and it works fine

If you're talking about the knuckles, that's Valve, not HTC

Rift needs 3 for real roomscale though as they weremt designed with it in mind
Vives were

Is that a mod? Most mods work with skyrim vr

I hear there's a certain way you can mount the sensors to get okay 360 tracking with only 2

If you wanna do roomscale you'll eventually need a third sensor but most games will be fine with only two. I also recommend getting a repeater cable for the third sensor so you have enough cable length to set it up.

ohhh I see my mistake.

No i mean the ones that come with the vive cosmos, pretty valves are different.

Attached: vivecosmos-100784698-large.jpg (700x439, 41K)

The Cosmos uses inside out tracking like WMR, that shit's almost certainly not going to work with the prior Vives

Astro is adorable

Attached: ASTRO BOT Rescue Mission_20190103015157.png (960x720, 1011K)

>doesnt explode into gallons of blood
fucking dropped

rift can do roomscale with just 2 trackers fine.

vorpx and all mods similar to it are shit

you're just facegunning the whole time, barely immersive

Attached: 598567.gif (256x256, 1.66M)

Damn thanks for the info user

It's not too hard, use VRTK for extra help

It's for Skyrim LE, It won't work as it's a big mod

that's a shame, it would have been cool

soulless

is that the competitor to the oculus quest? Will it still be steamvr like the existing vive?

>buy vr
>spend about 100 hours in porn games
>spend 200 more hours in beat saber

and now I'm bored
worth it though, beat saber is hype

Its not 64bit skyrim, its the classic one
fundamentally incompatible

the hardest thing about making a VR game to me is getting movement that works but doesn't feel stupid, rift you are on a joystick, great until you need to press the buttons on the pad and move at the same time. There aren't as many buttons on the controller as you'd think once you start grabbing them up for various stuff.

what are your favorite beatsaber songs?
i feel like i am not getting much from it, since i dislike weeb shit and that nu-electronic club sound from the last decade

I remember I played some game months ago where you were in zero gravity, and you moved by grabbing onto walls and objects and thrusting yourself forward. Felt pretty solid.

>3500$

>someone's making a Stalker VR game
>it's in pre-alpha
>will be either dropped or just released in a broken state
Let's hope this is not the case.

Attached: 1527379455825.jpg (500x507, 64K)

WHAT ARE YOU POOR AHHAHAHHAHAHAHAH

Just accept that every single promising work in progress will be dropped when Bannerlord comes out this Christmas.

I don't believe you, consider how shit VR games are they must be really hard to program it's that or the devs are shit.

If the Vive Pro is Vive 1.5 then I guess Vive Cosmos is 1.25? Pretty sure you still gotta plug it into a computer but has the benefit/hindrance of not needing lighthouses.

yes

>someone's making a promising VR game
>it's early access
>will be either dropped or just remain in a limited tech demo arena-environment state

>Bannerlord comes out this Christmas.

Attached: 1498144396471.png (419x398, 191K)

nope

Attached: happy flower.gif (560x315, 3.95M)

A new console architecture takes 1-2 years to get good games, and thats with the devs getting earlier development kits, and big budgets. I understand all the jank in VR. I hate it, but I understand it.

I heard contractors is better than pavlov, is this true? I like Pavlov due to the modding capabilities and custom maps

>Looking through vr titles
>Almost everything is the same fantasy action game, simulator, fps, horror game, or occasionally some arcade title
If I load up my 3ds right now I'd likely play a 2d platforming game, pokemon, or animal crossing. I can't find anything that seems to really catch my interest with VR. Minecraft vr looks neat but that would get boring quick. Is there some less talked about games I just haven't found yet that are lighter, more laid back games that just deliver a straightforward experience? Moss looks cool, but fhat's about the only thing I've found so far that kinda fits my liking

Attached: 1548678548616.gif (200x235, 647K)

Well it's true that there's way more new challenges in VR development, like how splintered the platforms are, how the hardware is much weaker in practice due to the high rendering cost for VR, control limitations, and more importantly, the lack of resources. VR is stuck in the same pit as many hardware that is slow to catch on, no sales because no games and no games because no sales. That also means no money, investors don't see profit in VR games unless they're supported by oculus or by valve, so why fund them? Ultimately people making games still need to eat, unfortunately. There isn't enough money in it right now to make it sustainable, or perhaps there just aren't big enough players taking the game seriously. Consider 3D games, how they were a novelty until Doom demonstrated why 3D could be great in games.

The hardest part to me of devving in VR is really just wrapping your head around VR. It has so many new challenges just because we haven't been refining it for decades like we have traditional flat games, and the hardware is still a problem simply because it's cumbersome, annoying to set up, and expensive to own. I'm expecting good things out of the new-approaching cheap stuff like the oculus quest for example, that platform looks like it will be great for easy play and for accessing the mass market more so than other devices have managed so far.

so it's a WMR competitor then, good to know

It's a competitor to WMR and will apparently be able to tether to phone as well whatever that means.
HTC's direct competition to Quest is the Focus/FocusPro which uses ultrasonic technology to track the controllers.

>vorpx
>mod

You've never tried it have you? It's not perfect or even comparable to standing up VR, but it's better than playing with a monitor.

For the few games it works with

>ultrasonic tech

what's the fuck

Attached: 1454121774841.jpg (321x322, 25K)

Bannerlord NEVER EVER but Tales of Glory has a demo
It was janky but pretty cool even though my horse teleported me 20 stories into the air, try it user

Why to HTC shills lie so much? The focus is clearly competing with oculus go since it doesn't even have controllers. Andt the go was a flop so HTC is arriving late to a dead party.

Attached: vive_focus.jpg (1920x1080, 146K)

Not sure if they still offer it, but Moss and Astro had a PSVR bundle.

Attached: ASTRO BOT Rescue Mission_20190104024130.png (960x720, 902K)

Like seriously, how can you think the focus is going to compete with a full standalone VR like the quest?

Attached: oculus-go-hero.jpg (1600x900, 140K)

Best not be lying, familia.

Attached: zzz.jpg (912x463, 43K)

It's 6DOF you retarded soichild, not 3DOF like the useless Go.
I don't care about HTC or mobile meme. Go get hit by a car.

hard to answer, so far too many games to me still feel like they're either

>VR gimmick games
or
>we made a "normal" game in VR

The gimmick is kind of why you buy it, you know? Plus once you do shit in VR with the motion tracking and everything, it's hard to look at the normal games and say "I want that but with a thing strapped to my face", you end up wanting more the novel shit that VR can offer and flat games can't.

It's the ugliest headset ever, but it sells in China

Anyone else hyped for Tokyo Chronos ?

No unless you can fuck those stupid looking girls

machine learning is gonna save the day

honestly Skyrim VR is as laid back as it gets
you say Moss, but that is still a linear action game in many ways,
just with a cute storybook style to it
what type of genre are you looking for?

Hey at least we can enjoy the comfy beta, it is better to have love and lost...

Attached: 1299026321515.jpg (800x586, 351K)

Elite is laid back af but you need autism for it.

I might try skyrim sometime but I dont like it in 2d already.
I think I know what I want. Somehing I can really sink time into, the type of game you come to everyday for something new. Doesn't have to be like Animal Crossing, but the same kind of thing you get home and you just wanna relax, toss the headset on, explore the world a bit and do some stuff, then take it off and do it again tomorrow. Can't find anything in vr that has the lasting value of pokemon or AC. Skyrim is the closest I suppose, but who wants to play fucking skyrim

Any reason to not buy the Samsung Odyssey+ for $300? I'm new to VR.

weeb shit, sorry user

youtube.com/watch?v=bomB-VuXodY is hype as fuck

that's a really good deal, go for it

Top notch screens, easy adequate tracking. For $300 it's one of the best all around packages right now unless you really really need to suck dicks in VRChat.
Note that the cord is a little short for larger roomscale (there are extensions though) and you probably want to get some good rechargeable batteries.
Also a fair number of people have comfort issues with it but there's 3rd party padding available now I believe.

Attached: samsung-odyssey+-hero-01.jpg (1600x900, 150K)

Lone Echo?

>but who wants to play fucking skyrim
Skyrim VR might be the best selling VR game, or at least in the top if you don't include free-to-play games
Borderlands 2 VR might scratch that same itch if you just want to quest around in an open map

Attached: 765798675987.gif (256x256, 624K)

Uh...Slime Rancher maybe?

Wait slime rancher is in vr? If it is you just sold me on it

only steam, not psvr if that's your headset

store.steampowered.com/app/939480/Slime_Rancher_VR_Playground/
It's a free DLC addon, not sure how extensive it is but probably not very.

Kinda runs like shit on my powerful PC.
Also shorter weapons are very bad, and it can get crazy hectic. I'll keep an eye on it, but its no Bannerlord.

first review straight up says it's not the full game

>bought an oculus go for porn
>its like the best decision ive ever made
i was skeptical at first but holy shit its amazing

try hard devs always make the most boring games

If there was an award for being a huge faggot, that would've instantly put you in the running

how will machine learning change anything?

i just subbed to badoink and wankz for like 10 bucks each.

scuse me
what is this?

Well shit, this looks actually good. Where do I sign up?

I dunno, seated 3rd person games like Senua's sacrifice fucked me up whenever I had to move the camera constantly.

I think it's only an experience.

Wish I knew how it was that some VR motion made sickness and others didn't at all

For me it's been experience, I got used to VR and stopped getting sick from most htings

extension cables, son

HMD Odyssey+ in Europe when?

I've been using only 2 sensors for over a year now and I was rank 600 in Beat Saber a month or two ago. Of course turning around is still an issue but you can most most of the way around you by spreading them far apart.
Have lots of fun, user
