Gameplay-wise it's just a severely gimped Nocturne, but the aesthetics, music, and characters are on point so I still enjoy it. Satomi Tadashi needs to be brought back, he wrote the best Persona game (2) and a fairly interesting plot for DDS (I'd say its story is a bit better than Raidiou, easily better than Nocturne, and substantially better than shit like Devil Survivor)

Nocturne doesn't need a remake. If they're going to go to the bother of remaking something it should be SMT1 or 2. Those two have loads of problems while Nocturne still looks great and is a lot of fun to play, all a remake could offer it is better audio and some quality of life, which is not enough to justify a remake.

Not really. Nocturne's story is super basic, mostly because Cozy & Kaneko wanted way too much and there simply wasn't time to implement everything. It pissed off Cozy and he left Atlus, and then presumably was killed off by the yakuza, because he never resurfaced.

Apocalypse is the best smt gameplay wise.

Kaneko only retired after Strange Journey and made a script for IV, and apparently supervised Persona 5's models as well, though Persona 5 was in development hell for so long that it was probably done before the other two games.
