Saints row 2 probably would have been nicer, but I suspect that 3 is built largely on the engine that is still current to the studio, so it was probably a quicker port.

I'm pretty sure the Switch isn't what's porting games.

It's not the worst idea when you consider it from a "portable" perspective when it comes to the switch, but as to why they always pick completely fucking terrible games is beyond me

Three was the death of the series.
By going to the hilt with wackiness, it ironically, became a joke.
Everything about the gameplay was worse, from the basic controls to the character customization.
And these only got worse with the sequels.

2 was about the right blend of serious and over the top. 3 was just a cartoon.
