JRPGs are shit but Earthbound wasn't bad. It was actually funny, dark, and different. A cop lures a trusting kid into the backroom where a bunch of cops gangrape his ass. Mother 3 would likely get censored, it's a shame he couldn't block xenoblade it's fucking terrible in every way.

Because the Wii version was worse yet outsold the Cube version 7 to 1, and by that time the game was outdated visually. If they had released it just after the Xbox 360 like they originally planned (after the first delay) it wouldn't be so looked down on and we might've gotten a Breath of the Wild-style game instead of Skyward Sword which was made in response to the Wii's positive """""reception""""" which is a false positive here because it was new and motion control was and is the future (see ARMS). Of fucking course it was gonna be well-received.
