Blazblue CF is my favourite fighting game. It's so tight, the controls are simple but the gameplay is deep, as long as you have a basic grasp on a character you can have fun playing the game with anyone, every character has such identity, the characters are appealing both in design and personality. It always struck me as tragic that it got so little attention compared to SF, MK, GG, and so on.

BBTAG was the best surprise of 2018 for me. I ran the whole gamut of emotions: unbelievable hype at the 2017 announcement trailer, heart crushing disappointment when it turned out to be a “casualised 2 button baby fighter,” and then complete elation when it turned out to be the best fightan of the year by far.
It’s honestly great how much Yea Forums tries to shit on it. I know Yea Forums doesn’t play fighting games, but they’re even shit at a game literally designed for Switchlets and RWBYtards. Absolutely incredible.

That entire first paragraph, are you me? That is EXACTLY how I felt about BBTAG as well. The game just doesn’t stop surprising me. Honestly it gets me more excited than Smash, and that’s saying something considering how much I love the latter.
As for the naysayers, I really do think the people that shit on it just honestly haven’t given it a try. I almost dismissed it, but that open beta sold me on it instantly, and it’s only been getting better since then.

Blazblue players hate it because it doesn’t play like Blazblue. UNI players hate it because (on Yea Forums) they have crippling autism and they literally cannot stop seething over the fact that there are other fighting games out there. Nah, like the other anons, EVO Japan was still using Ver. 1.3.1, I think it was. Ver. 1.5 should be releasing sometime this spring, along with four new characters (Heart Aino/Naoto Kurogane/Teddie/Seth the Assassin).
The interactions in this game are great desu, especially all the ones shown in these posts.
I really need to play through the story mode. UNiB seems like it could end up having a great story to it. Also hoping for Mutual Situation to show up.
