When Uncharted was better at being a Tomb Raider game than nu-Tomb Raider

4 has little action compared to the others, and too many climbing sequences.

3 was at least the same as 2, even though it was lacking originality it was still fun.

I only got into Uncharted after 4 was out. Was her ethnicity in 2 stated to be that pre Lost Legacy? I thought that game said she was Australian and something else but it escapes me

I wouldn’t say little, it has fewer combat sequences and more exploration moments, yes, but the combat sequences are so much better in 4 due to the new mobility options like the rope, the increased focus on verticality, the stealth options are much better (you can even go back into hiding after combat starts) etc.

I find it hilarious how uncharted, a game about an explorer, has less exploration in its level design than TloU, a game about getting from point A to B asap

uncharted was supposed to emulate indiana jones, but U4 and specially LL have some open areas. LL’s western ghats is huge and has tons of treasure everywhere.

TLOU is also about scavenging to survive and craft shit, so it makes to explore your surroundings in it

nu tomb raider’s fault for copying the least important parts of Uncharted and forgetting interesting characters drive the plot

Honestly, the women in Uncharted are boring. The British guy in 2 is the bad guy, the shock. Mr Tibet is Mr Tibet. They aren't very interesting characters. They're mostly archetypes with quirky dialogue. It's like the Garfield of video game writing - it's not clever, but people will convince themselves it is for having even the most rudimentary level of inference.

Yeah, but the british guy wasn’t the mastermind, the russian henchman who you think is just a goon becomes the main villain.

And the girls are awesome. Also, fuck you for talking ahit about the best character, Tenzin.

I have to agree. For me what made me like the games is how action movie oriented they felt though. I think the main issue with the characters is most of them are inoffensive but also one note. Nathan and Sully are really the only fully fleshed out characters of the bunch. Maybe Elena too.

For some reason I thought Russian henchman was the first game. I'm pressed to remember who the big bad in 1 and 3 were. That's how depressingly weak the characters are. I got bored playing 4.

The villains in 1 and 3 are very generic. I like U4’s Rafe, though, great performance.

The big bad in 1 is incredibly forgettable, I played each game back to back for the first time last year and still can't remember him. I remember the ones from the sequels at least but can't name any from 1 or 2 except maybe Flynn
