Voice chatting with your team should not require using a 3rd-party service, through a 3rd-party app, on a 3rd-party device. The PS2 SOCOM games had this built-in long ago, working with just about any USB headset, and I'd bet there's earlier console games which I hadn't played that could pull this off too.

Splatoon just didn't have built-in voice chat since the online portion would raise the rating. This completely circumvents it by having the voice chat be on the phone itself. I mean, the Switch itself has native voice chat so it's not preventing any other game from using it.
