The opening for Wing was kino for about 20 secs then it the usual gayness. And i didn't really like hulk smash everything melee focus of it compared to previous Gundams. It was still a good watch on Toonami back in the day though and Hiro is one of the better if not the best protag in the franchise.

Original series is a must. EVERYTHING else in the franchise hearkens back to it in some way. NOT THE MOVIES, the movies are poorly paced (it happens when you try to squeeze an entire series into 3 movies) and gloss over a lot which leads to people asking stupid questions like "Why didn't Char team up with White Base?" of "Why did Char turn evil again in CCA?" The movies were intended to be a quick recap for a Japanese audience that was already familiar with the original series. Idiot moviefags like this guy

What I was thinking is that it'd start off pre-Wing to sort of ease the player into things. It'd still eventually go through the main events of the series and such, but you need to let the player get their bearings before you start throwing near-unstoppable Gundams at them.
