I feel like Octoling doesn't even need to go that far, just flat out make it an inkling echo. If there was ever something deserving of being an echo, it's the things that play the exact same in the game and you just have different equipment you can give them. Make some moves mildly statistically different though. I'm tired of the richter and dark samus and daisy echos where they're literally the same outside of very incidental differences. The thing about that though is you can't release that as part of a fighter pack, you need to just keep that to the side.

1-No one is going to pay full price for an Echo
2-Yeah she could be easily made into an echo, just like Isabelle, but the fact is that Splatoon is both INSANELY popular and have enough content to make a complete 2nd character with new weapons (unlike Isabelle) so she is more than fit to have her own unique moveset. Hell she has more potential for her own shit than Luigi, Falco or Wolf ever did.

1. I covered that in my post. I said you couldn't release that in the fighter pack, you need to do it as a side thing. You're the only one saying full price. And if you include another splatoon stage which is possible, it could be a decent price money maker rather than just a free update.
2. The possibility of not being an echo does not disqualify it from just being an echo. Dark Pit could've carried completely different weapons, Dark Samus could've had a dramatically different move set (and did when she was an assist trophy), but they're ultimately just echos, and they'll treat this the same.

Dark Pit was a rush job out of Sakurai love and bias for his own creation and DSamus comes from a franchise that is not very popular and is the 2nd character for it after getting a full one with Ridley. It is far more reasonable to compare to the other gigantic series that up until now had 1 character, aka Animal Crossing, which got a "completely" new character. Splatoon brings the dough, so it gets more love from Nintendo, just like pokemon, mario an zelda.

Would be fun and somewhat of a Dan Hibiki case. People aren't playing him to win, they'd be playing because it's Glass Joe.
Besides, it'd be neat to see a moveset based around his character and stuff. A counter like Mac's but meant more for taking advantage of an opponent's attack to space yourself away from them, maybe buff moves in form of Headgear and Viva La France, throw in maybe a better recovery than Mac.

how? xenoblade only has 1 character/stage despite it being an ongoing series (the next one is being made right now) that sells better than series with multiple characters/stages. Wario is a bit better due to gamer and warioland but there's a shitton of characters you could pull, at least one.

Pikmin is good because, while it's in a similar position as wario, it doesn't have the same legacy/game releases. Zelda has great stage representation but the characters are absolute shit, 3 links and sheik is still not replaced for impa. No new characters since melee is crazy for a series like zelda (no, tink doesn't count)

The only thing I agree with is villains. There’s so many to pick from and we only have 6/70 something TRUE villains out of the whole roster. Bowser, Ganon, K. Rool, Ridley, and Dark Samus. As someone who loves both equally, Pikmin by far has a greater legacy than Wario. It’s one of Shiggys main franchises and all three games are critically acclaimed. There’s a reason Olimar stands besides Mario, Kirby, Samus, and Link.

None of those games are triple A, especially not mario odyssey, XC2, or pokemon. The director of xenoblade has called his games budget titles, pokemon is the most low effort shit in all of nintendo, mario odyssey's scope is relatively small. The closest nintendo ever got to AAA is BotW and metroid prime, but even in those cases, they don't have nearly the amount of budget spent on them as actual AAA games. AAA is reflective of budget
