These are unplayable relics...

These are unplayable relics, they aged a million times worse than the console "classics" of the 90's and you're honestly missing nothing by not playing them. And yes, I've tried them all for at least 10 hours each.

They're not too hard for me, they're just trash. Boring, clunky, cliched, headache inducing trash.

I just played Planescape for the first time ever last month
You are just bad

>any of these games being unplayable

reminder that Yea Forums is now completely consumed by handhold kids. people born with cell phones who never experienced the real world

>These are unplayable relics, they aged a million times worse than the console "classics" of the 90's and you're honestly missing nothing by not playing them.

>games that use mouselook + WASD or point and click controls, i.e. the exact same controls modern games use

shit bait

p:t is aids UNLESS you're really into reading your video games

deus ex holds up fine, it's mechanically almost identical to the new ones except it's kinda dull

Deus Ex holds up well, SS2 holds up worse but is still playable, Planescape I agree

Deus Ex is as shoddy today as it was when it was released. It never compared well, both in terms of stealth and combat, to other games that specialized in those fields. The reasons why it became a cult classic are still there today though, nothing about it has aged, since few games do the multiple-approach thing as well as deus ex, if at all.

How many people does it take before you accept the game is the problem, not people playing it?

I hate the way Deus Ex handles but for some reason, SS2 always just felt right to me.
I wish both games got VR remakes

SS2 was the peak of interface and controls, it went downhill from there, I'm not even baiting.

This if you ignore the AI being braindead

>I put all my points into swimming/energy guns/strength

slightly unrelated but, i played system shock 1 for the first time a couple weeks ago, and honestly for a game that game out in 1994 it's actually really playable. the game is so ahead of its time in so many ways desu. also ss1 shodan > ss2 shodan

>he never experienced the thrill of quickly tossing your mouse through SS2's interface in a corridor with enemies right around the corner

I actually wish there were more games that had the same interface/controls as SS1 (with mouse-look capabilities). Learning complicated control schemes are kind of fun to be honest.

OP is a faggot. I played Deus Ex for the first time about 2 years ago and I've replayed it about 6 times since then. It's a classic through and through.

SS2 plays better than Dues Ex though, there's just less to do

Why do SS2 and DX get compared so often? The only thing they have in common is being first person with light stat-based progression elements. The actual gameplay is completely different with SS2 being closer to survival horror in a spaceship and DX being a globehopping adventure game with lots of dialogue.
SS2 doesn't even have a real stealth system.

Deus Ex is a masterpiece
SS2 is very good
Planescape is overrated

You say that as if it isn't well documented that most people who play games have shit taste.

Western games for you in a nutshell.

They age like milk.

1. agree
3. agree
2. you're a fucking N00B son.

I'll give you System Shock 2 and maybe even Deus Ex, but topdown games like Planescape Torment always age like wine.

This is Xerxes. At 02.00 there will be a poetry reading by protocol unit T892/2 in the deck 5 commons area. Please bring any authorized material that you wish to be red by T892/2

>implying FFVII or OoT play well

Japshit wishes it has a moment as kino as the SHODAN reveal.

Unlike most fanboys, I understand that these old as shit games often have terrible gameplay and that was the standard for those days. If you don't have nostalgia for decades ago and didn't play those when you were young there's nothing you can do to make them better. It's a psychological factor.
People must accept the medium has evolved in many functions that are hard to throw away and story doesn't carry games as much as people say it does. There are better ways to spend your time than to playing old shit you didn't play when you were 12 years old.

kill yourself

planescape only has THE BEST gameplot EVER as it doesn't suffer from ludonarrative dissonance and actually uses the empowerment of the game to drive a strong message home about consequences to actions. It's literally a game that tells you something wise. The only other game, other than a few specifics parts of TLOU I remember doing that was the beginner's guide.

That alone makes the game a classic. It's debatable if the reading vs gaming part is a good one. In this ADHD addled society that seems to be a criticism.

>actually wasting time on this trash
If they were worth playing they would have gotten remakes already.

congrats, you got pleb filtered
glad you'll never try the thief series or VTMB either, you don't deserve them

>Planescape is overrated
Only a bunch of neckbeards like Planescape so it can't be overrated, most of those don't even really like it, they say it for e-cred, game bombed on release and even today it only has some kind of niche b-movie following.
Deus Ex on the other hand has a massive mainstream following so I guess you can say it's overrated, though unlike a pile of shit like Borescape: Torment it actually did achieve something and set some standards when it came out, despite a lot of claims about it being far overblown, so it does deserve some of its fame.

Try again when you reach the age of 10 next year maybe. You're missing out.

fucking excuse me for not wanting to download 2 gigs in patches to properly run a game with clunkshit mechanics

SS2 plays just like any FPS retard.

SS2 holds up better.

SS2 is on Dark Engine and has the same stealth mechanics as Thief. The only difference is maps are brighter. Try hitting a wall with a wrench and seeing if hybrids will come investigate.

> I need my stories explained in a very literal fashion because reading something that is about my soul just makes my heard hurt

>The only difference is maps are brighter
And that's the only difference that matters because without shadow-based stealth it is about as sophisticated as it is in Doom
Meanwhile stealth is an actual option in DX and is often the optimal choice

18 year old zoomer here who played all of these games in 2018-19. I didnt have a single problem with them and I love them.

Games don't age.

DX AI is dumb as bricks which is why stealth is optimal. Thankfully GMDX solves that.
