So the google "yeti" is a home console. It uses an arm cpu clocked at 2.1 ghz and it has a custom gpu running at 1.5 ghz. It also has 6gb of ram and 64gb of on board storage though an eMMC. It will use the Fuchsia os which will become the new android. Games can only be digitally downloaded and no physical games. There will be streamed games and downloadable games. Streamed games will be though a streaming service based on ps+ and xbox gold. The retail price of the console will 150 usd at launch. The console will release later this year.
Google "yeti" leaks
It is just another OUYA.
who wanna play chink rip off games and shitty western indies both of which are fucking short and shoddy on a console
Software matters, I'll buy if it isn't shit.
Most likely correct. Mobile and Indie trash I bet.
So I only know of two exclusive games for the device.
1. There is a free to play fps mmo-like. game that is based on halo and density. Players join factions to take over plots of land. It is a class based shooter. There is a building mechanic that allows players to build turrents, makeshift walls, and traps with one class. The mmo part is that you join a faction and get rewards on matches. Rewards could be weapon skins, new missions, and more. There are faction only missions and raids. There is a bounty system that allows players to put a bounty on another player. Bounties are in affect though different matches.
2. A single player game. It is an fps open world action adventure with game about traveling though europe and asia to find a cure to a new disease during the fall of humanity. The game takes place right after WW3 when a majority of governments fall and a new bioweapon makes people turn into animals. The game is made to be realistic and there is lots of hidden things to explore.
Dev kits are going to release in 2-3 weeks and they will cost 200 usd to buy one. Most devs are porting their games to the streaming service.
>imagine being the type of loser that's going to buy a fucking google box
>jewgles woke box
top kek
So is this Onlive 2.0?
Pretty much but there is stuff to do offline with it. It also functions as a chromecast.
>emmc memory
enjoy your fucking quadruple load times
Isn't this functionally just a chromebook, or a higher end android tablet?
With such tiny storage, I would expect anything stored locally to be a glorified android game.
Google usually supports their products very well so I'll buy it for sure :^)
so is this gonna be the power of your phone, with the mobility of your console like OUYA again?
Paying $200 to stream games. Zoomers will make this a roaring success. Gaming is officially dead.
so it's shit then
It is going to be 10 usd a month
Higher end android tv box but without android.
Yeah pretty much. It's getting some exclusive games which is something but it is a bit expensive. Google is hoping launch titles will make it sell.
It has a planned life span of 5-10 years. 5 if it flops and 10 if it is a mass hit.
A.I.!
Indie!
Jewgle!
Stream!
yay
what if....it´s made for diablo? damn
OH NONONONO the amount of seethe in this thread is insane SNOYGGERS can't compete with the new exclusive launch lineup
Google's streaming thing will be great because I don't live in a third world country like America
>less storage than a PS3 ten years ago
>eMMC
How fucking cheap are these fucks at google
They are overestimating their reach.
well fuck we made a new wojack so i guess this is happening
google loses money all the time. that's also why it's generally a bad idea to buy stock from them.
I can see this being extremely popular with normalfags. It could be what finally brings casual phonegamers into the console market. If it's successful gaming is probably even more dead than it is now, since everyone else will just chase that audience, and games will never be good ever again.
The streaming service will run on any device with a web browser so they will make profit anyways. Google is trying to get apps for the streaming service on consoles officially.
Why would all game developers ditch their current market for the phone audience?
Streaming is going to have some interesting implications for game ownership. Once games are all hosted on a server somewhere they can be taken down at any time, making access to games in complete control of the publishers since the files are no longer in your possession (or even the hardware running the games). I really hope this fails but I know better than to expect it to.
>Googlefags actually believe they have a chance
Pathetic.
seethe more consoletard
>Muh GEEWWWWGLE
Autism Incarnate.
So will the technical quality of games be similar to the current generation?
>arm cpu
yikes
>source: trust me, bro
these specs are pathetic and you know it.
Though streaming yes but the downloadable games will be like xbox 360 and ps3 quality.
How the fuck is streaming gonna work, seriously? The world literally isn't ready for this shit yet. Every household would need super internet.
looks like now it googles turn to fall for the "platform-as-a-service" games console, baka desu senpai
did the even do a market research of this? how is it different from onlive or ps now? did they solve the latency ussues? did they fix the shitty bandwidth that 90% of the world have? like wtf, i don't understand this at all
The specs are going to be like some new mobile phones that google is going to create soon. Also Fuchsia is optimised and only uses 5% of the cpu to run the os.
There is setting limiters that make it so it can work on internet speeds less than 20 mbps. It works with 4g so far with limiters. You can also download a part of the game so even less data is sent back and forth.
>it can work on internet speeds less than 20 mbps
i have 2mb...
6 GB
Of ram it's dead in the water
Nintendo can get away with 4gb of ram because they have mario games.
The next Xbox and ps5 will have 16gb of ram.
Also latency needs to be less that 50s for it to work.
>no physical games
