boring.

literally who

>JUST been released
I thought A Bard's Tale was like many decades old adventure games from the pre-windows era. And literal abandonware at that.
That's not it?

no

That "art" is enough to make me ignore it

Game most likely released before you were born. It was huge back in the 80s.

it's a remaster of the old ones and a pretty good one.

Take one look at that "artwork" and you can answer your own question

>born in the 80s
>still posts on Yea Forums
jesus christ

just wait you'll be here forever too user

>That art

>He doesn't know
See you in twenty years jimmy.

Fuck off, it was a different time.

>JUST been released
>different time
Christ, this is Siege of Dragonspear all over again

The artwork suffers from the classic remaster problem of increasing resolution without increasing detail

Do they at least disable the new smooth-turning animation when you walk onto a spinner?

It's the same shit. They just redrew the original pixel art.

>it's just my art style
Why the absolute fuck would they go with this.
Listen to the bards tale GDC retrospective.
The original dev sounds kinda cool but he spends half the fucking talk explaining away rumors spread by the old office dipshit who decided recently to make everybody call him a woman and claim the original dev was guilty of a bunch of made up social crimes, it's really sad to listen to a chill game dev pledge uneasy allegiance to diversity and inclusivity.

Show the women.

That's what I mean. Low-res, low-color, low-memory pixel art implied more detail than was actually there. It was the best they could do at getting across the idea of what something looked like.
So when we think of a high-res version we expect something with high-detail free of those restrictions, like the bottom image, rather than simplistic cartoon art made out of the restricted presentation rather than the oiginal concept.

I played the one on ps2

They don't have any examples of women.

They added a few touches like the visible belt seen in the picture above or just the animations alone. It's the best they could do stay true to the original source material. Also the towns and world map looks far more detailed than the original game on the C64.

What do you think? Zoomers don't care for it because it doesn't get epic likes and views.
