GTA VI: When and where would you like it to be set?
I think if they are truly creatively bankrupt and will keep rehashing all the cities they've done in the past, i would like it to be Vice City, but set in 70s-80s during the Miami drug war. No connections to 3D era, completely standalone from GTA: Vice City.

its gonna be vice city, no use trying to figure that out. I just hope its a very interesting and dynamic map with tons of interiors and soul

It might be Liberty City again

I wanna see a game set back in london or the GTA equivalent. Maybe they could even make the game more Melee focused have it play a bit like bully just more violent

modern day las venturas with casino feuds for story

Ubishit hinted that Watch Dogs 3 is going to be set in London
I wish Rockstar would do it though. RN is a company based in Scotland led by english siblings born in London. They of all people should know how to make a game set in the UK without it being ridiculous in a bad way.

I doubt Rockstar will ever do a period piece again. A lack of modern setting toys would bore the underage kiddies. Can you imagine how they would react to the protagonist having a huge brick phone, or no cell phone at all?
The 70s or 80s would be more interesting than present day, but unfortunately it's just not as exploitable/marketable.

As people actually from the UK they know it's Airstrip One now and completely unviable as a GTA setting.
Not to mention making a satire of the current UK would be like walking through a minefield.

I hope they keep the interaction system from RDR2 in some form.

they should do Boston or Chicago

bump

For me, it should he Houston.

Why the fuck does everybody always forget about Carcer City? They could easily make it a GTA setting and a lot of people want Detroit/Chicago. The gimmick this time could be seasons and weather

It better be.

I think they could do a lot with Vice City and maybe expand it to pretty much being Florida in general but I have a gut feeling it's gonna be LC again.

Not sure what I'd think if it was LC again.

Can you believe it's been over 5 years since V came out? 7 since the trailer and announcement?

Omsk

I would honestly love to a GTA set in San Fierro in 60/70s. You have a unique city, an interesting period unused in GTA so far(counter culture and all that), hippies, Chinese gangsters, serial killers, heavy drug usage and general psychedelic atmosphere, I think it could be great

>R* did literally nothing for GTA IV's anniversary while III/VC/SA all got new ports for their's

Attached: 1521600188296.jpg (1080x1101, 101K)

They probably couldn't comprehend that it had been over 10 years.
Besides, weren't the ports trash that removed songs?

>GTA III will be 20 in a couple of years

Attached: 1482381174697.jpg (74x160, 4K)

Yes

By the end of this year, people who were born when III came out will be allowed to post.

I got to chapter 5 in RDR 2 months ago, got fed up and never touched it again

A big update today reminded me that crap was wasting space in my HDD, so I deleted it. Rockstar age is over

They updated GTA IV as well on PC and I think consoles to remove them as well, but I'd still like to see III/VC/SA/IV/EFLC get Gen 8 ports with 1080p support and maybe the SA port get fixed.

Texas.
Mix up the western culture with modern day.

It ended with V. That was when they stopped consistently releasing games.
Someone made a chart showing Rockstar releases by year, but I don't have it.
Within the last decade, going by memory:
>2008: GTA IV
>2009: TLAD, TBOGT, and GTA Chinatown Wars
>2010: Red Dead Redemption
>2011: LA Noire (mostly developed by some Australian developer, but still)
>2012: Max Payne 3
>2013: GTA V
>2014
>2015
>2016
>2017
>2018: Red Dead Redemption 2

Correct me if I'm wrong.
WHERE THE FUCK IS BULLY 2 AAAAAAAHHHHHHH

Bully 2 will probably be like 2020/2021 at the earliest. I doubt Rockstar actually had literally everyone working on RDR2 near the end.

Go fuck yourself. No-one wants london nor any stupid weeb-shit tokyo or anything like that. London sucks ass and is full of pakis and poles anyway.

>I doubt Rockstar actually had literally everyone working on RDR2 near the end.
Isn't that exactly what they do for big projects? I always hear about it being badly mismanaged and more and more people from the different studios being brought in as projects progress.

London could never work. Itd be instant 3 stars for walking around and not having your telly loicense or your trash loicense

what the fuck do you want an HD Vice City or a new location? you can't complain about a lack of originality in the same sentence asking for the same old shit.

They patched the AFK money glitch and I still havent been banned from Online time to drop the game again and wait for the next big thing

they better not set it in the 80's because they would do an authentic 80's setting and zoomers would complain about not enough neons and synthwave music

the 80's revival and anything it spawned will be dead and buried by the time it releases so it won't be set in the 80's

As long as they don't spend billions in crappy cinematic missions, it'll be alright.
Just get a big city, some real physics, realistic car mechanics and some stuff to do, maybe manage some business or do some favors for mafia/gangs your own way.
But we probably are gonna get another 'follow that car, but don't get too close or you'll scare him' shit game. And everyone will love it.

Like walking through a minefield.

I'd like to see Venice. Have your character actually be a member of the Mafia. Have the canals so theres more waterways throughout the city.

Venice is basically a theme park nowadays and while the mafia is everywhere in italy they keep the murdering down south, mostly
rockstar wouldn't have the balls to make a game set in italy

Doesnt nees to be real Venice, put the old rockstar spin on it and make up a city thats based on Venice. Itd be more interesting than large square landmass with 1 or 2 cities and a big mountain

Wherever it, I just want built-in snowy weather.

>Grand Theft Auto
>set in a city where there aren't cars

As much as I would have loved a modern day Vice city with neons and synthwave, by the time Gta 6 comes out (if at all), it will be late to the show. Really disappointing.

>a modern day Vice city with neons and synthwave
but rockstar makes cities based on real cities not memes and mememuisc

What makes you say that? Retro stuff goes into stuff 30-40 years into the past as well.

GTA : Anywhere

setting : anywhere city.

gta 2 wiki describes anywhere as retro futuristic.

GTA:asia or brazil

setting: very densly packed city, with extreme cultural flair

Las Venturas would be a nice setting, it was my favorite city in San Andreas.

da moon

Would be pretty based if they did one set in the future

What an autist

Honestly, the location isn't that big of a deal. I just want it to be something set in the 60's-80's, or even 90's. You can do so many more interesting story elements if it isn't in the modern era where the internet isn't so pronounced or cell phones didn't exist or weren't in wide use. Pretty much the most mobile of a phone I'd want in GTA would be a car phone.

Medellin during the 80's would be a cool idea, Madrid in the late 30's, Warsaw in the early to mid 90's.

This. Its canon in both universes.
I like to think the Carcer reference in V and North Yankton is Rockstars attempt at avoiding an endless cycle of games set in LC and SA.

Grand Theft Auto has become so attached to mocking American cultural trends they're never ever going to make a game set outside America again

what is carcer city? detroit? chicago?

In Manhunt I believe its supposed to be Detroit.

Moscow

Vice City in the present

this game's gonna be online only. prove me wrong.

Alright Yea Forums, veteran gamer here. This is the best recipe for GTA:

>Set sometime between the 70-90s era
>located in either Cali, NYC, or Miami TYPE cities
>You play as 1 character
>story based around organized crime

Yes, you can have multiple Miami "style" cities. They can be completely different across different games. It's the style people want.

I don't get this autistic shilling for ((((your)))) city these threads devolve into. No it would not make for a good location. Also, pre 70s already have their own games (mafia). And anything past the 90s is soulless.

I hope IF they force the multiple character meme again they at least make it interesting. One is a thug, and the other is a (dirty) cop for example.

They aren't going to miss the opportunity to use GTA VIce.

Having a GTA in the vein of Rock N Rolla or Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels would be pretty sweet

If its not vice city I'd be very disappointed in Rockstar.

black and/or female protagonist with a very rich online multiplayer experience

i miss when brits were stereotyped as fancy uptight tea drinking aristrocrats and not mudslimes, shitskins, and loud chavs. they were simpler times

I wonder how badly that place gets fucked by hurricanes.

I have no faith in Rockstar after RDR2 and GTA 5. Unless they change the formula up and BOTW it up, it's only going to be good to watch a let's play of the story on Youtube.

If they were to brush their act up though, I would like it to be set in a comfy big city with no bullshit fluff like the countryside in GTA V. Fully destructible environments, no clunky movement, and better fucking aiming system. No psychic cops or bullshit wanted system. Make deaths/ragdolls realistic like RDR1, Max Payne 3, and GTA 4 but keep the gore from RDR2 or expand on it.

Attached: nofwasted.png (772x1228, 182K)

I'm optimistic, though. This lack of freedom in missions is becoming more and more a mainstream complaint, specially after RDR 2. I think they are going to review this approach and hopefully fix it.

second for chicago, kids with guns shooting it out on the red line

Yeah
And with next gen hardware around the corner, they'll finally have the tech to pull of dynamic snowfall (maybe?)

And there's no way the bean isnt recreated as something crude, like balls or an ass

It's love a city surrounded by mountains. Is Denver a boring shithole?

Nobody wants to play in faggy Europe. Stop asking for it

>Unless they change the formula up and BOTW it up
What the hell does that even mean?

BOTW lets the player experiment and use freedom to tackle every problem that is thrown at the player, and rewards exploration by designing the world in ingenious ways. There is no wrong way to go as there is something interesting with a cool thing to find in every corner of the world, and there is never a "wrong" answer when confronted with a gameplay delimma.

RDR2 literally fails you on missions if you stray tom far from the scripted path they want you to go, and there is no cool shit to find in the world besides random ass cabins which all look the same. You also don't usually get anything for exploring worthwhile despite MAYBE a new recipe or stat-up potion, but your stats get maxed so fast it doesn't even matter. The economy also is highly unbalanced as by the time you reach mid-game finding gold is worthless as you can buy everything the game has to offer and then some so finding gold, robbing people, and looting bodies is pointless.

It's like the extreme antithesis of BOTW: Heavy on story/atmosphere/realism, shitty on actual player agency, freedom, and fun gameplay.

Liberty city

Just no. Do something new

R* seem averse to open-ended level design with their missions. Even briefly deviating from their instructions or the fixed paths they put in your path in their most recent games will be met with a mission failure that throws you back to a checkpoint. Embracing more dynamic sandbox content (greater interaction with NPCs and procedural events) and exploration of the game environment would help to break up the monotony of their formula, but with how much time goes into their games I doubt they'd throw their hat in.

why isn't there one leak from rockstar about anything? how do they control their employees so well? there's gotta be a few there who hate their job and can leak just one fucking detail without getting caught

Modern day New Austin which is based off of Dallas and/or Houston.

RDR2 and it's story/gameplay details were leaked almost a full year before release, and the world map was leaked a lot earlier than that.

There are disgruntled R* employees on the net who leak shit, they just don't post shit here. Also, did you see the credits during Red Dead Redemption 2? Literally 80% of their dev staff are poo-in-loos.

Well I mean about GTA

Seattle and Vancouver

Or San Francisco in the late 60s early 70s

And play as an angry hipster?

I'd like either 80's Vice City or 70's Liberty City. If it followed the Vice City route, then make it a Scarface/Goodfellas adaptation, basically. Put all the pop-rock artists like Hall & Oates, Queen, Phil Collins, etc. on the radio stations and make it a big 80s nostalgia wankfest.

If it went with the 70's Liberty City approach, which I'd most like, I'd want it to be akin to Taxi Driver or The French Connection, with bands such as Genesis or King Crimson playing on the radio.

How about Hawaii?
