That's what I thought at first aswell.
Just get one of those thick tempered glass plates.
Mine is still scratch-free.
Only if you're a retard and slam it into the dock, yes.
It probably can if you carelessly drop it in all the time but mine's still fine, had it since Odyssey came out.
Yes but only if it gets knocked or you shove it in haphazardly.
Still an incredibly poorly thought out dock.
The screen is plastic, anything can scratch it.
Bigger problem is overheating. Just get a dock kit for 10-15 bucks.
Is one those thin plastic screen protectors enough?
I haven't had any problems with mine so far. Don't even use a screen protector on it.
Yeah. Girlfriend bummed into it and it scratched the screen. At least it's just on the black bezel part.
this
I’d just get glasses
Most all my touch screen electronics get glass screen protectors
I had a thin plastic one before. The heat generated while in the dock caused the screen protector to peel up. Buy a tempered glass one
How bad is the overheating?
It locked up my switch while I was playing marble it up once. Dock kits are nice because you solve heating and scratching issues at the same time.
Probably, I have a screen protector but to start I just stuck 2 adhesive pieces of the soft part of velcro to the inside of the dock. never had an issue. That amount of fucking retards that lack the ability to think up something so simple is a prime example of Nintendos fan base.
owned mine since launch and never had an over heating issue playing any games.
Shit, there is no dock sets available around here.
i have my switch since splatoon 2 came out and still no scratch. Just learn how to take care of your fucking electronics
It's not the customer's responsibility to fix design flaws.
Doubling down with this.
They made the screen plastic because ultimately, they envision clumsy fucking pygmy people (children) using it.
As has been stated, get a tempered glass one. Should cost like 10 bux but if you're super thirsty for one, you could shell out around 30 I guess
It can, but only if you're violent or you drop the dock with the Switch in it or something. Like, you're actually going to have to try and scratch it. Shove a screen protector on it and it's not gonna scratch, there you go.
Nobody said it was your responsibility dumb faggot. But if you just sit there and scratch the fuck out of your switch because "its not muh responsibility" then neck yourself bitch.
Entitled zoomers holy shit.
I personally use the J&TOP Portable DIY Replacement on Amazon.
Not him but you sound like a dumb fucking sheep who'd literally start eating shit if it's produced by nintendo
Yes. I vehimentaly denied that it did until it fucking happened to mine.
Nigga they already bought the damn thing and are looking at how to fix an oversight. The fact that customers have to do it is bullshit, but advice is advice.
What about using an usb c extension cord with the playstand?
Good if you don't plan on using the USB ports. I need them which is why I did the kit. It's cheaper than the stand and a wire and relatively retard proof.
Why can't you use the ports with that?
I've tried multiple wires and I think it's a power issue. When using the wire only the switch gets a charge. Plugging anything to the side ports does nothing unless the dock can make immediate contact with the switch.
Well that's stupid
the launch model, absolutely, but i think they’ve added a liner/rail thing in the dock to mitigate that now.
however, the screen is plastic and scratches easy as fuck even if you baby it.
>branded playstand
get one of those lamicall phone stands off of amazon for $8, works perfect
YOU ARE THE STUPID YOU FATSO WEEB FAGGOT CUNT
if you don't use a branded one the switch can be bricked.
amazon.com
yeah man this piece of sheet metal with a hinge will really brick your switch
Not really if you're gentle with your tech and treat it with love and respect
He either lives on some tropical hell or it's a defective units. Look up Switch stress tests if you are worried, temperature was not an issue even docked.
People got scared after those 3rd-party dock brickings around the Switch's release, you will never stop hearing about it.
Had my Switch for 2 years. No scratches at all.
That's what I did. I got a tempered glass screen protector and a new shell for my dock so it doesn't even have a ghost of a chance at scratching the screen. Ironically now my Switch collects dust despite me using it all the time because of this.
