it could very well be. Still, the "game" is far better than Skyrim. Rewards exploration, quests are much more interesting, the world is very fleshed out etc. The only problem i have with it is the technical downsides. The age is showing, and to make matters worse it seems to suffer from some bad optimization. There is no 64 bit client, and unlocking your framerate to anything above 60 (if you play on high refresh rate screens) is a pain in the ass. It also ends up fucking up the game's physics.

I can't get into any game with an engine as dated as Gamebryo. If the game isn't designed with 4k/60fps from the outset, I can't be bothered playing it. RE2's knife damage is tied to the framerate. What now?

You can get a perk that lowers your fever, one use per day. A simple armor spell adds some 90 armor or 10 minutes, rank 2 magic resistance spell adds some 30 and if you have the mana for it, dual casting a rank 2 blessing of live gives you 124 more life for 5 minutes.

And then there's life drain. A rank 3 you can buy in Ark pretty early is pretty sustainable and can clear most bounty dungeons and the areas around there.

I found Summoned weapons to do utterly silly damage compared with regulars ones too.

I think I was hitting for 120 base damage per sword on a rank 5 summon

Absorb Health doesn't increase your Arcane Fever at all. You use absorb health to offset the damage caused by entropy.
yeah, they're pretty much the same, but expanded. Psionics is more direct and even has combat spells.

mystic bow is even more OP. Mystic bow rank 4 + 90 Archery + 25% summon damage + eye of the storm (basically you can sneak attack an entire room since it stops time). Literally melting shit, if you put broken enchantments on top of it.

Why does the game look like absolute shit in the starting area. The green is disgusting, there is no good contrast, its all so colorful and bright yet it looks washed out somehow. The bloom makes me want to puke and there is no way to turn it off. And some parts are just too bright.
This is what happens when you give it to people who don't understand how important art direction is.

yes, theres an entrance inside the bank to the vaults, a barred metal door. you can also get your own deposit vault that earns interest.

I'm currently going Elementalist/Sinistrope. Did I pick good?

Depends on how you plan to use it. They can kind of obsolete each other in the damage dealing department. But if you use sinistrope for summoning and elementalist for damage it should work perfectly fine. You could also use elementalist only for cloaks and runes and entropy/psionics for damage, I guess, though I'm not sure how effective that would be.

How hard is iron path compared to adept?
I'm thinking of restarting even though I'm 30+ hours into my adept run, it's not that I find it too easy, I actually think it's pretty challenging but I want to get the best out of my (probably) only run of the game and iron path seems to really force you to use everything at your disposal.

This. Cliff sides and tree stumps around the watch tower. You can find five of them easily. Just watch where the birds dip down.

There's two small islands in the lake. The one closer to the bridge has a tree stump with a nest. You can watch that to see how the birds look like and how they fly when they land. Alll remaining nests can be found then following that pattern.

Thanks, but I can only find enderalprefs_default in enderal folder. But knowing from skyrim, that is only used as default overwrite for .ini files, like the one you've said, usually found somewhere under user appdata. But I can't find any of those there.

It's not really in but you need to eat in order to regenerate life (out of combat) and drinks will increase mana regeneration.

There are workarounds. I couldn't stand playing at 60fps with dips to 40, so I upped it to 144 fps cap. It now only dips to like 90, so is much less noticeable.

Is leveling up the books for elementalism even worth it? It doesn't increase your damage, and I don't even notice a difference in the mana cost reduction. I'm only level 12 atm, but haven't found any items to lower the mana costs of my spells, and I'm running out in just a few spells.

They do lower your mana cost. Couldn't dual cast life blessings at 20 skill, but at 30 I'm able to. May have been only a few percent difference but it adds up with high levels.

Psionics actually does ton of damage if you invest in it, the spells scale off of your skill level - other trees don't.

Seems to be different for the summon/apparition buff though, I already got two separate entries for that from disenchanting two rings of same effect but with different strength.

Yeah you can blame steam for that, and how their entries for games work. Enderal was built for Oldrim and needs its files, which are slightly different from SE. Maybe they'll do a SE version later down the line, it's quite a bit of work though.

Go elementalism if you just want to fuck things up, shock spells in particular. Coupled with entropy for a tank summon to soak damage away from you and you're golden. For very strong boss-type enemies you can also mesmerize them for a phat damage bonus.

Doesn't elementalism just do more damage in general though? Even if you have a crazy high psionics, won't elementalism just do more damage because of their perks? And like what spells really do damage with psionics? 1 DoT and 1 Damage dealer?

Most likely elementalism is DPS king, yeah, but I'm saying psionics is also viable. And the knockback from Psychic Push can be handy for crowd control. I just recently got Thunderclap (mythical spell for shock) and while it's crazy powerful, it's also hard to aim and has an annoyingly long wind-up time so pure damage isn't always everything.

I did the same, I'm already several hours in and gotten to the Ark but I feel like I fucked up by putting my memory points around because I wanted to try out so many things so now I'm just an awful shitty fire/shock mage that has to use heavy armor + bow and mace as a crutch.
The whole thing makes me want to replay Skyrim but then I remembered all the shit you need to download and set up just to start even preparing for modding that game and I lost interest before I started.
I want to like this mod but I feel like I'm too much of a casual to enjoy this. I know that some people, especially here, like the whole "start off as a complete shitter that can't kill a single bandit" but I'm not in that camp and I feel like Enderal isn't made for someone like me.

So play on novice then, it's worth it for the story alone.

Psionics can do more than just damage, while elementalistm is just different forms of damage. Pychosis can mesmerize which slows enemies down and the malus to resistance can set up some big dick combos. Psyonic push is great crowd control, mesmerize (the spell) means you pretty much get a permanant 10%+ discount at merchants if you remember to use it, plus the various memories of the sinistrope that let you devour enemies souls for hp or turn them into your slaves.

Is the lycanthrope class any good? I feel like I'll be too conservative with transformation potions and end up playing most the game just gimped in other stats.

Can you enchant an already enchanted armor with the same thing? (with the perk in phasmalist).
Say armor has 10% mana regen, can you enchant it again with 10% mana regen again?

It's annoying how many spells have the item physics knockback effect, like devour soul and the summon oorbaya; small items get sent flying and you'll never find them.

Also, devour soul and entropic blood neither are nearly as good as shock nova (god tier GG win button) and arctic wind.

Lower your difficulty then my man. The difficulty selection is there for a reason. And when you feel like things are becoming too easy, bump it up again.

What's the easiest way to get filled soul gems? Casting soul trap is annoying as fuck.

Of course not, enchants are unalterable no matter what. The phasmalist perks suck and only allow you to temper the enchanted items (eg. sharpen a sword) or break them down into raw materials.

Melee is weak at the beginning because your defenses suck. Later with the right perks and better equipment you can literally wade through your enemies.

Melee will start weaker than casters for sure, but you'll be kicking ass once you get some levels and gear on you. Drop the difficulty down a notch if it feels too rough in the beginning. Enchanting is crazy good now in Forgotten Stories, it definitely pays to invest in that.

Yeah, though from what I read you can also craft enough -% mana cost gear that makes you cast spells for free - infinite channeled mythical spells will definitely fuck things up too.

You can't respec. But you can fully fill three trees by endgame. So just focus now on what you want and flesh out your hybrid bits later.

Well sorta, but it's a bit shit and cumbersome. What you'd need to do is remove each perk you've taken so far manually and then give yourself an equal amount of points back. Or just ignore the perks you've taken that you don't want to use and then give yourself points for those, only.

If you just wanna give yourself some perk points, 'set talentpoints to x' - easy enough.

If you actually wanna remove perks, you need to type help "perk name here" and then player.removeperk idhere. For perks with multiple ranks, you need to remove each rank separately, and the active talents afaik you'd need to remove the shout component as well, with player.removeshout.

Ok, so are crafted weapons super OP in this game as well? Honestly I fucking hate crafted weapons being the strongest thing you can get, unless there's a quest to craft an actual unique weapon(lookin at you Arx Fatalis you sexy beast).
There's just nothing lamer than delving a dungeon and finding some sweet unique sword that was hand placed there for loot......then selling it so you can keep beating people with your crafted iron poker +9999.

Yes, but only because there are rare/unique blueprints for said weapons - can't make them until you find that shit. It's not like regular Skyrim fuckery where you just boost a regular daedric warhammer to some ridiculous legendary stats, the system is actually neat in Enderal.
