Please Gamefreak, after making those wholesome videos about what region you would visit don't shit on everybody's expectations again. I am tired of trying to find at least one thing that i find exciting about the direction the series is taking. You bring soaring and secret bases in ORAS but you throw away pokemon following you. You forget about everything in SUMO and do a nice thing with removing gyms and you remove HM's and bring back pokemon following you but its just a couple of them. You bring megas into the game which was awesome and then you stop developing them so that the shitty stones get their place I get it most people don't like megas. Hope: The starters have cool designs, the region is unique and isn't too similar to what we've seen before, the game has a story of the depth of gen 5, and it looks as good as Let's Go. Oh, and I hope the normal wild battle systems return, but with Pokemon on the field. I didn't like how Let's Go got rid of that and gave everyone exp share.
Fear: I guess I'd be disappointed if its systems were that of Let's Go. Keep roaming Pokemon, but also keep wild battles and I'll be happy.
Expectation: Story isn't that interesting, but it's an okay, good looking Pokemon game.

There's something about that period where nothing's sure yet, so people get excited and project their hopes and dreams for a good Pokemon game onto it.
It's Shroedinger's Pokemon game, until you play it in a few month's time it could be good and it could be shit again.

That said, I don't think anyone expect the games to actually be good like that, but the months of not knowing that for sure is where the fun lies, because you can dream whatever you want without being proved wrong.

Honestly just making breeding pokemon have litters and giving you a gene profile for the parents and progeny would help. It's currently a pain in the ass because there's a bunch of variables that take some time to learn about. Maximizing the info you can know about your pokes using your normal summary screen is always best.

As for competitive team building, you have to be a masochist to play this game competitively given how poorly balanced and thought out it is. What would a "difficult" Pokemon game look like?

It's not just having two regions. It's having Pokethalon which is a completely different game mode with it's own achievements, extensive special events instead of code legendaries, etc.
I also wouldn't call having Kanto in-game Kanto pondering. It literally was in the original and they just bothered remaking it. Kanto pondering is when all Alolan forms are Kanto pokemon, for example.
And I'm saying all this even though my personal favorite is gen 5.

LGPE man this series has some regrets. I would like a 3D adventure game similar to colesseum/galeofdarkness but with more freedom. I dind't like how limited your party was in that game, and the lack of catching actual pokemon outside of snagging.

First I want the AI to always be the smartest it can be at 255 or (whatever method/ranking they use) For the trainers to have 4 moves almost always especially after the 1st or 2nd gym, trainers having more than 1-2 Pokemon, Less gimmicks that make the game easier (Z-Moves, Megas)

These fuckers seriously have a hard time sticking with a gimmick. I think the only time they actually stuck with something was contest which they brought over to Gen 4 from 3 but for whatever reason also dropped after that. They suffer from the same autism as Sonic Team in that they can't roll with a something for several consecutive games. Its always one and done.

Yeah, that's one of my main problems with GF as well. They have a habit of making really retarded design decisions across the board, like never keeping cool things from previous gens. Also all the location/item + trade evolutions they added in Gen 4 so that they now have to go out of their way to add moss rock/ice rock, magmarizer, etc. to each game. I'll never know how such an incompetent company created the world's largest selling franchise.

Most of the time, if both players have the same team, they both will either succeed or fail.

the pokemon deal with GM is that any 3D assets made can be used in Pokemon games in the future. it was literally the only way they would agree to the movie being made. they're going to be used in the upcoming game, which is going to be a reboot for the series in the same vein that breath of the wild was a reboot for the Zelda series.

I think the real point of those games was to be able to get gen 2 pokemon into gen 3 games. Which was hard before because of the whole incompatibility between trading GB and GBA pokemon games.

It forced you to use and strategize around mons you would usually never use.

Breath of the Wild: Pokemon Edition would be top tier, faggot. I'd rather a more confined space with exploration than a hueg empty map. Maybe keep routes and the structure of the current maps but allow you to go into the trees or out into the ocean a bit more, rather than the walls and borders we have now, with more wild Pokemon in these forests or mountains, off of the path.
