Witcher 3 has good points, but it fumbles pretty bad in every aspect trying to move on from the first 4 or so hours of play. Difficulty becomes nothing, combat doesn't evolve in any way, and the unreasonably lengthy crunch period the developers were subjected to noticeably impacted the last 2/3rds of the game in a terrible way.

How the fuck is dealing with multiple opponents difficult if you just save up for good armor before going for combat oriented work? It's as if you want to die to 1-2 guys. I took out the Pribyslavitz and Vranik camp with no assistance. Didn't even need to heal through it.

How many did you take on at a time, what level of equipment were they wearing and, most importantly, how long ago was it? In earlier versions, you could do it. You could take on two or three top level, plate-armoured guys, as long as you had decent equipment. It was fiddly as fuck, but you could do it. But some patch somewhere massively boosted enemy chances to do perfect counters. You can't fight as aggressively as you used to.

This was one of the best character writing in video games (except for the sucky conclusion)
It's rare to see a game that would portray a abusive man as an actual person instead of some cheap one-note villain.

I played on the newest there is just when Band of Bastards became available. I could take on a group of 7 guys at once because I didn't bother aggroing more on me because of my low specs taking a small fps hit with that many. Did even if their gear was medium to high tier plate.

The trick is managing your stamina and packing a mace while constantly walking into enemies for a clinch so their weapon degrades and you get a free overhead swing on each clinch.

Any kind of armor provides little blunt defense compared to slash and stab protective so keep clinching and whacka-mole. I literally one shot Runt by doing that and nearly fell out of my seat.
