Nah, my cpu is dogshit. Not that excited to play it either. It was amazing when a buddy dragged it to a LAN back in the day, but after 1k+ hours in souls and hearing about most gimmick fights I doubt it would leave that big an impact. Tower knight was amazing, bombastic as fuck and it was fun passing the controller around but now I don't think he'd leave an impression anymore besides the song.

Remaster implies no major content changes. FromSoft would have to take staff to work on the 6th Archstone and the result very likely would not be in the tone of the original game at all.

Invasions is and always has been a core part of the souls games. Missing the odd item or two doesn't matter much in comparison.

Invasions in DS3 are the best they've ever been. DeS is retarded and forces you to kill yourself between every successful invasion. The only good thing about DeS invasions is that the Black Eye Orb is available early on.

3 has the retarded prio system where you'll see one invader around once every three weeks until you look up where to find the monkey paw, and invading yourself is even worse than in 2 where you had to go duelfagging or use cheat engine.

DS3 invasions are fine. The invader is supposed to be the more experienced player that uses the maps and enemies to create ambushes and level the playing field. DS3 invasions are cat and mouse play throughout the level instead of faghy honordueling.

They're anything but. The prio system, the stupid fast estus, the 2-hit system, lack of poise, low recovery frames on the roll and damn near infinite stamina all combine to form by far the most awful pvp the souls series has ever seen.

honestly it was kind of refreshing to go back to the slower boss fights more like dark souls 1 instead of the rolling around at the speed of sound fights of bloodborne and dark souls 3

Yeah but in contrast to DS1 the player movement in DeS is similar to DS3 while the bosses move even more sluggishly than DS1 bosses. This coupled with the fact that most of them are gimmick fights makes them absolutely braindead. As much as I dislike DS2 I'd say even ds2 has better balance between player and pve movement.

I'm 30. Just saying that DeS is far behind the most recent Souls games in terms of game design. It's more like a raw prototype of a Souls game. Still, it doesn't mean it's not worth playing, simply because it's old.

In terms of game design? Not at all. Only things I can think of is that estus was a damn good idea, there are some quirks with the online, and there are some minor QoL things like not having to use items one by one anymore.

The main things it would catch flak for if it released new now, is that after 4 other souls games, it's pretty damn easy. The game design is fucking stellar.
