People you know who are autistic about smash brothers

>play friend
>if you win every time he says "that characters broken" "button mashing" "you're spamming neutral air"
>if you taunt he'll curse you out and refuse to play you
>do the teabag instead
>he says "it's the same fucking thing"
>picks projectile characters and spams
>call him out and he'll start a full argument so it's not worth it

Anyone else? I find him straight up uncomfortable to play and cringe when I win because I know it's coming.

kill yourself loser

I fucking hate playing with people that get upset. My friends are extremely competitive amongst one another and everyone mostly accepts defeat and knows when they lost except for one. This dude rage quits and typically uses every excuse in the book and NEVER blames it on himself or his lack of skill.

I also have another friend that fucking screams at the top of his lungs any time his character gets launched hard. Jesus christ its fucking annoying but god damn 8 player smash is so much fun

Found the smash autist

>friend edgeguards, doesn't let me land, and runs like a coward while my respawn invincibility is in effect. Frustrating but I keep cool.
>I land a suicide KO once. "WOW, nice fag move."

Consider not playing with 12-year-olds.

>Play with whining friend.
>Pound his ass with Palutena
>Muh she's broken since Smash 4.
>I switch to DDD.
>Pound his ass even more.
>This range is broken! Gordos are broken.
>Switch to Rosalina.
>Luma is broken!
>Fucker is playing wolf.

I just stopped playing with him.

literally half of Yea Forums, there's smash threads every fucking day, although now RE2 threads are taking over

>play friend
>be silent
>he gets a stock on me
>taunts
>get angry and play 100% better all of a sudden
i guess i am that autistic person

He sounds like a bitch but
>runs like a coward while my respawn invincibility is in effect
What the fuck do you want him to do instead?

The only problem I have with my best smash player friend is that he complains a little too much when I pick good/top tier characters and do the stuff that makes them powerful, for example Palutena's lingering tilts and aerials. He kinda makes me feel bad for using them which might just be some next level mind games because it gets me to start doing her worse attacks instead.
All this on top of him playing all 3 space animals a lot in every smash game.

At 18:50 you can see this top player use a dozen neutral airs in the span of 20 seconds. Shit is ridiculously hard to get around in this game.

Wow at least whenever I complain I'm at least playing awful characters.

>play 2 friends
>samus and k. rool
>they each stand on one edge of the omega map and spam projectiles towards the center while k.rool constantly tries to reflect samus power shots with his belly
>this goes on for 5 hours
>don't want to ruin the mood by voicing how annoying this range-spam crap is starting to get
>leave his house
>never return for smash

WOOOOOOW he's playing the game correctly your friend sounds like a real faggot, you brainlet

>tfw too good to play with friends, it seriously isn't fun for either him or me because of how much I win.
>not good enough to go to more competitive scenes

>>picks projectile characters and spams
And? That's how some of them are meabt to be played. Seems to me that you're just a faggot.

>"you're spamming neutral air"
OP who do you use? If you say some shit like Roy, Lucina or Ike your friend is right to call you out.

this is me. I think the thing to do is just turn on items and FFA user. The random shit keeps things fun, lighthearted, and somewhat level enough where you only have to sandbag a little bit

>button mashing
>in smash

>mash buttons harder
>win
feels good to be a pro

You have no idea how frustrating this is. Every character he plays isn't good by his book.

Don't play him then.
My friends and I play competitive style smash and we still have fun regardless of who wins or looses. We get all get excited when someone pulls off something cool in a clutch moment or has a spectacular fuckup.

what if i'm the first guy but instead i ALWAYS blame it on myself?

Start going to locals and more competitive scenes and get your asses kicked. That is by far the fastest most effective way of improving because even unconsciously you learn what doesn't work against better players and without thinking about it your habit change to do the stuff that does work. Before you know it you're all on the same level or at least way closer.
It's so much easier to improve if you're the worse person in the room than if you stay as the big fish in the small pond that you are now.

My girlfriend lost her shit last night trying to beat me. We played about three dozen matches in a row before she finally gave up. She sucks but she's come a long way from when she'd just sd because she couldn't tell where she was and walk off the stage. She's getting better with Bayo though; it won't be long until she gets a win and then we'll play 2v2s online.

If it fucking works it fucking works, don't change it until it stops working. If the friend is conscious of you spamming an attack there should be no excuse for it to hit them anymore because you've become predictable. If your friend cannot beat a predictable opponent they are the problem not you.
Playing these games are fun because someone finds the really good thing that works and it's now on someone else to find the thing that beats it and the living room meta evolves from there.

>friend edgeguards, doesn't let me land, and runs like a coward while my respawn invincibility is in effect
That's how you play Smash Bros.

Those quotes make sense in the case of a traditional fighter but shit like Roy's nair is safe on block and can be spammed endlessly till he chains it into whatever he wants, if your character isn't equipped to deal with his unga rushdown via a good OOS option you're gonna get rolled.

I wish I had locals to go to, there's no scene close enough to me

Roy's nair is one of his most powerful attack in neutral but stuff seems much more broken before you learn what to do about it. If you keep playing and experimenting you'll find out how to beat it especially if you know it's coming.

There's a lot of annoying trash that's effective without any skill whatsoever, and requires skill, effort and practice to counter. It gets balanced eventually if people want to put in the time, but it also just makes the game less fun in the meanwhile.

Attached: 324840-street_fighter_blanka.jpg (320x292, 24K)

I don't personally struggle with Roy in particular, I'm just saying that in reference to there are some characters who straight up cannot do anything to swordies spamming neutral air. Ultimate is balanced but there are still several terrible MUs in this game and characters who can spam the most the hardest are rewarded.
You can yell "just adapt" as much as you want, but that didn't make Smash 4 Cloud any less broken and oppressive, it's the same deal here just on multiple smaller scales, usually a sword character vs a slower character with less spammy options.

Of course this is all just speculation since OP never answered what character he was using but his friend saying he was just spamming nair could be a valid complaint considering that nair spam is viable even in the highest level of play.

OP here, wario and pikachu.

Wario's nair is pretty bullshit considering how long it lasts and how it combos into ultilt, waft and some other things, it grants Wario a safe landing and also lets him rush people down without fear of punish since it's lagless and Wario has buttons to punish them for trying to punish you. Pikachu's nair combos but it's range is really short so it can be boxed out.

It's not as bad as Ike's or Roy's nair but I get where your friend is coming from, that being said those nairs actually have counterplay so he should get used to throwing out projectiles or an anti air up tilt. Fair game.
