>it's the worst selling M&L game
Flops hard in japan
Well, rest in peace every single Mario RPG series.
>Ehh RPG dont need stories anyway
back to Color Splash but even less story than Sticker Star.
BISfags blown the fuck out. Meanwhile SS the BEST and only good M&L gets E3 screentime and tons of marketing, and sells decently in a year right before the 3DS takes a nosedive.
It didn't need a remake at all and they skipped over PiT (a game that actually could have been significantly improved with a remake) in order to shit it out. It deserved to sell terribly.
Played dream team today, what the honest fuck were they thinking having tutorials every five fucking seconds did we really need 2 non stop talking travel partners
Are the original SSS and BIS the definitive versions, or were the changes/additions in the remakes worth it?
I'm playing through it rn. I didnt buy it though. It's a pretty good remake considering the fact that I loved the original as a kid. One of my favorite games in existence
The reason why is that it didn't need a fucking remake.
SS remake is give or take. Overall the only thing you would prefer with the original is some songs and if you're nostalgic for GBA sprites. Other than that I'd say its somewhat superior. A few tracks not sounding as good and a few enemy changes isnt enough to downplay the vastly superior animations, lighting effects and better battle system from the more modern entries.
BIS remake was completely unneeded and was only to sate the autistic desires of some Bowser Jr. loving fuck at AlphaDream. It also runs WORSE than SS remake at half the framerate, and the Giant battles are fugly as all hell having been outsourced to Arzest of all fucking people. They really did just send it out to die on behest of Nintendo's lies to make the 3DS seem like its getting support well into 2019 (Surprise! Its not. Pic related is what remains of 3DS shelf space).

HOW WILL THE 3DS EVER RECOVER?
RPGs don't need stories.
This game absolutely did not need a remake. The graphics were fine and the gameplay is still up to par with how the current titles.
If it doesn't have a story it at least needs some interesting mechanics or progression decisions and even the best Mario rpgs are lacking in those departments.
BIS (DS) was a good as fuck sequel to SS tho, regardless
I dont know why they didnt remake the worst one and try and fix whatever flaws they could.
Shit taste has no appreciation for the greatness that is Bowser.
Maybe making remakes isn't a long term strategy.
>SS nostalgiafags
The only reason the BIS remake didn’t sell well is because it doesn’t do the original justice nor did it need a remake, unlike SS which has visuals and audio that aged like milk. In reality though the remakes didn’t do either games justice so nobody won. Three games later and Dream Team is still the only game that used the 3DS M&L engine well.
Gameboy Advance game remade for the 3DS? Holy fucking shit, so much has changed, I gotta pick this up, especially since I don't even have a GBA anymore.
DS game remade for the 3DS? When the 3DS can already play DS games? Huh...
Maybe dont make it look like shit next time tendo
The game didn't need a remake, and the 3DS is old news
I like Starlow, but yeah, she should not have been in that game. One tiny flying friend is all that's needed and Dreambert had that role covered.
I want to replay the game so I can try hard mode for the first time but all the tutorials and interruptions keep me from going back.
Good. BIS is fucking overrated.
BIS is overrated as shit. I've tried to play it twice already and dropped it both times.
